  1. I was pretty blindsided by the pain, I didn't think it would be that bad. I was fine after about 4 days, back to normal. Just walk around that will help the shoulder pain and gas pain subside.
  2. I'm 25, just make your own food, i always did in college, don't worry about them! I think this would of been a bonus in college, food is so much cheaper haha. I get 5 meals out of a package of ground meat. Or if you have group dinners, just puree what they are eating, or eat just a little bit of it (obviously when you can eat)

    Where do YOU feel full??

This. I'm never really "hungry" which is good. I feel like I'm eating enough food. I'm starting to think a lot of this journey is mental. I'm gonna check out fitday.com
  5. There are some good journeys on youtube I watched some the other day! I wish there was a standard for everyone that was the same. Also I feel like I was banded, the it's just like ::waves:: go lose weight now... like I feel like I want more support! Feels too easy.
  6. Nice, I did Lindora in the past, the only other time I lost pretty significant weight. (of course gained it all back), but it's good that you go everyday, they are really on top of you about sticking to your diet! Lost a pound today finally. haha! Started at 298, Surgery I was about 281, and now i'm 275. So 6 pounds in 3 weeks since surgery . 100 pounds till my goal!

I'd wait till the latest possible. The first few weeks even you could lose like 30 lbs I had this problem in the past I did a wedding and I bought my dress then lost a ton of weight and had to buy another one haha. They can only take so much in and keep the shape of the dress.

    HONEST-Post Op Diet Success

Right, i'm still full with less, but not full enough to be satisfied I guess. I don't understand the "i'm starving" because I personally am not. I feel like i have to police myself. Which is hard to learn.

    HONEST-Post Op Diet Success

@JAMILLAH E Still be careful. Yes, at this time you CAN eat food, but follow the plan. Sure, maybe my purees ended up being not as pureed as they should be, but I didn't go eating full, hard food. I think you have to figure out what works for you... but you don't want to slip into your old ways. You are only a few days post op. I took those weeks as training for my new diet. @CheckYes I'm scared to screw it up too, I don't want to get sick.
  13. Doing good with my exercise, gosh I hate the gym though! It's so smelly ahaha. Didn't lost any weight this week, boo. But I guess I'm still "healing" i'm just anxious! I'm watching my portions much more carefully now. I bought the Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook, some great ideas. All pretty simple to make too. Which is good in my tiny tiny kitchen

I don't know if I'm full or not!

1/2 cup is for when you are on food, not for liquids. You can have full protein shakes. You should have 3-4 full protein shakes a day. Drink the shakes first because they have protein then supplement with jello or yogurt. There is no restriction in your band right now, till you get a fill, so that's why you can put more in it. Call your surgeon, or nutritionist you should have book or something that lays out everything you can eat/drink for each stage. I'm a little discouraged, but apparently it's normal to not be losing much until your fill. Just gotta police yourself on portions!! Also 1-2lbs a week is normal. Don't expect to lose more than that!

    Nervous to Fly

Are you going alone? I usually just ask if I can put the arm rest up, say it'll be more comfortable for both of us (or def keep it up if it's a friend or family member), I've never had anyone say no really. and make sure I sit on the aisle for a little more leg room. I carry my weight on the bottom so I do have a problem with tiny seats. I'm not SUPER huge or anything. I've never needed an extender or anything like that. It's just a little bit uncomfortable. Also prepare, wear comfortable pants, or leggings, make sure all your belongings are ready before you sit down (like have your iPod and magazine you want during the flight out before you take your seat). I don't like to shift around a ton making it obvious that I'm larger. Have fun in California!!

    HONEST-Post Op Diet Success

I'm doing pretty well. I'm getting a little carried away with my portion sizes since I went in to more solid food because I don't have restriction yet. So this week, I'm making sure to measure my food and write down the calories. I'm not hungry at all, but it's hard to feel satisfied. I didn't lose any weight this week, so I'm kicking it up, and make sure I exercise (I know I should just be patient because it's only been 3 weeks). It's just taking some getting used to, but overall I feel it's pretty easy to stick to. But by no means am I going crazy. I feel like I have a good handle on things. I'm not eating junk, no pasta, barely any bread. I'm not hungry, I don't really feel like I'm missing anything. Yes, it's less food, but I'm not craving junk food, or soda, I'm perfectly happy with what I can eat. The hardest thing for me is keeping a schedule and not grazing. I used to just eat because I wanted food. Didn't have anything to do with hunger.
  17. I don't miss my coke zero either actually. Just take a water bottle and sip at it every few minutes. Good luck with your fill! I have a doctors appointment this week, but I don't think I'm getting filled just yet.

    Whats your top 3

Listen to your stomach, ask youself if you are hungry Eat slowly, and pay attention to WHAT goes in your mouth Water I know what you mean! But I'm figuring out it's pretty much just eat LESS and slowly, drink lots of water (but not b4 or after meals), exercise, eat mostly Protein, watch what goes in your body. Some of the rules seem so nitpicky I don't feel everything in this 50 page book I have from my surgeon needs to be remembered daily. The biggest change for me is just noticing what goes in. Before I'd mindlessly eat, and I was never "hungry". Now I know when I'm hungry, and what I'm eating.

    How to deal with friends?

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't expect anyone to praise me for losing weight. It's nice when it happens, but it's my own personal journey. I'm sure in the long run you will inspire her . Yes, as @vip1968 said, as long as she's not sabotaging you. None of my friends have said anything haha, they ask how I'm doing, or questions about how I'm eating, but nobody is like you look great!
  23. @Jess55 I didn't lose much on liquids, mostly because you are still healing. I've lost about 1-2 lbs a week since surgery. I'm weighing myself once a week so I don't freak out about it haha. We'll see what comes up tomorrow!

    new goals for January

Exercise daily Start measuring my food more carefully
  25. My surgeon gave me a prescription for hydrocodone liquid. I used that for a few days after.. but yea I'm sure liquid tylenol is fine, I took that for a headache the other day. The shoulder pain is apparently gas though! Which is weird.. I think I got the most relief from a heating pad. Or they sell those Thermacare heat Patches could try that. Regardless it should go away in a few days.
