HeatherinCA replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

9cc in Realize band with no restriction
HeatherinCA replied to MLBL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still don't quite understand all this fill business. I have nothing in my band yet (I'm going today for my fill) I'm still working on my weight loss, doing what I'm supposed to, losing weight, and I'm not hungry all the time. Are you guys hungry all the time? Or are you just looking for the full feeling? I don't quite understand. I know we have to control what goes it, it's gonna do it for you. -
Yea, and it says it increases your appetite as well. I don't think it would hurt to drink it.. but it's just not worth it to me, I was a soda drinker anyways! I've been off caffine since November, I feel totally normal, I don't miss it or need it.

Advice for Husband who is Micro-Managing Food Intake
HeatherinCA replied to HezTri-s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My parents do it a little when I see them. I guess it's good, but it's a personal battle I wanna deal with on my own. Well remember, he's only trying to help. I'd try to not get offended, but I'd also tell him, this is my battle, and I have to learn on my own. -
Job interview tomorrow....
HeatherinCA replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm job hunting too! I told my mom I'm not buying an outfit until I get an interview because it won't fit by then! Haha. Nothing is more uncomfortable than interview outfits, so I'm glad to lose weight and find something that fits good and looks nice -
What would you do?
HeatherinCA replied to Huggles1951's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't worry about it. There are HUGE risks too when you are 450 pounds, the bypass is more serious, and 7 years ago they weren't nearly as skilled at it. I wouldn't feel bad, this is your decision, if they have a problem it's unrelated. -
Iphone users is there a good food journal app?
HeatherinCA replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm gonna check it out. I was using one, I forget the name, but it was giving all these things based on normal people. Not accounting that I had the band so that bothered me. -

Confused!! What is "Mushi" Foods!!
HeatherinCA replied to Lilika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me: my book says pureed says things like: cream of wheat, or cream of rice, pureed oatmeal thinned with skimmed milk, grits thinned with skimmed milk, non fat milk, cottage cheese, smooth sugar free yogurt, non fat ricotta cheese, sugar free plain puddings, sorbet applesauce, Gelatin, popsicles and custard. juice diluted with Water, baby food fruits, Protein shakes, baby food meats or pureed meats, pureed nonfat refried Beans, pureed lentils, strained lowfat cream Soup, broth bullion, consomme, thinned mashed potatoes Then Soft foods: All things above plus scrabled soft cooked or poached eggs, egg substitute, egg salad, mashed banana, pureed fruit, cooked pureed beets, carrots, pumpkin, squash, dried beans, peas or lentils, bean soups or lowfat chowders, lean ground beef, pork, chiken or turkey, fish, tuna, soft low fat cheeses, pureed bean dishes, powdered soy, baby shrimp, low fat creamy Peanut Butter, imitation crab meat, mashed potatoes w/o skin, plain crackers, toast For me it was pretty much pureed was anything that was REALLY small pieces or could be mushed up really well in your mouth (I ate a lot of chili and oatmeal). Then soft foods, things with a little more substance, I mostly ate things like chicken and egg salad, it's pretty much normal eating, but just things that are easy to digest, no red meat, no hard veggies. -
Does Sashimi count as soft food
HeatherinCA replied to Prinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmm, yea I would think so, just chew it up really good, and make sure it's soft. I'm totally obsessed with sushi lately, and I've been having a lot of Ahi, It's the perfect amount, luckily I'm not having any trouble with rice. (I'm 5 weeks post op) -
OTC Sleeping Pills
HeatherinCA replied to blissa033's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't taken any post op, but I always would take simply sleep or whatever at the grocery store. Shouldn't have any problems taking pills after a couple of weeks. -
Tummy tucks and boob jobs
HeatherinCA replied to Steph951's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would guess they would sag if you lose that much weight, that quickly. I also think some people just do it for personal reasons, they are skinny they want to look their best -
What can I expect from my first week appointment
HeatherinCA replied to Bubbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea he just touched my stomach then I left. Pretty much it. tnlamb408: Myoplex lite pre made, all flavors, I don't like the powder anyways they taste gross. Or pick up some Isopure at GNC.. it's "juice" like so at least it's something but chocolate flavor (I would put some sugar free kool aid in it to make it taste better) -
I made the news with my lap band story! Grammy nominated singer Jordin Sparks took me on a shopping spree!
HeatherinCA replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep! Yea she's so normal! She's great, she's gotten in much better shape in the past few years too she looks great. -
No problems at all. Yea lots of pain for the first few days, but that's normal. it's minimally invasive surgery, the incisions aren't even an inch big.
-
Yea don't eat salad haha. I had one the other day when I was out because there weren't many lowfat options, but it wasn't very filling, I'd rather not eat one if I have the choice. Have a chicken breast, or chili, or ground turkey with marinara, or sushi... eat as much protein as you can then you shouldn't be hungry . Sushi has been GREAT for me lately, it's filling, and it's extremely low in calories (I have no problem with rice luckily).
-
Honestly, I feel totally normal, I eat my food, and exercise, it's just life. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel deprived or anything really. I'm never hungry unless I wait too long to eat a meal. I don't want to do any serious cheating, I'm scared I'll get sick, I know I'll be fuller if I eat healthy foods, Protein rich foods and I don't want to sabotage this super expensive surgery! I do like to watch what goes in.. I've been looking at calories and things (i'm not anal about it and I don't really write it down, but I will check if I'm out to dinner and see what has lower calories), to me it's just not worth it to eat these things anymore. For some reason, since i had the surgery, I don't want these things, I don't know why this is, but I actually don't really crave junk. Yea that's true! I love food, but since I had the surgery I don't physically want the junk anymore. I know I can have a bite of something if I really need it, but I'm pretty content actually.

I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem... yea maybe tighter because of the pressure or something. -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
HeatherinCA replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would call your doctors office, or you should have booklet or pamphlet from them explaining each stage.. I was on full liquids immediately after surgery.. but I know some people have clear for a few days. -
I made the news with my lap band story! Grammy nominated singer Jordin Sparks took me on a shopping spree!
HeatherinCA replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's so awesome, congrats!! Jordin is one of my favorite people ever! I've meet her a bunch of times, she's inspires me actually, I love that she is so happy and loves life, and I like that she isn't a size 2 either, which is awesome -
