LOL really simmer down. -
Help...another surgery! (Not Lap-Band related)
HeatherinCA replied to carcar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a gigantic cyst and my ovary removed a few years ago, that was zero fun!! I wouldn't say it would make much difference about the band as long as everyone knows about it... After surgery you feel crappy and don't want to eat anyways. If you can only eat jello, only eat jello it won't hurt you when you are recovering. -
VALENTINES DAY AND CHOCOLATES = HELP!!!!!!!!!!
HeatherinCA replied to roseyposey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just eat ONE piece of chocolate not the whole box haha you'll be fine. -
LOL if I'm at a restaurant I just get Water. But don't drink it, I didn't order once and the hot guy waiter gave me the 3rd degree about it I was so embarrassed and had to explain haha. If I'm at fast food, I just don't order one, nobody really has questioned it. Jenni, I never order from the kids menu, I just eat less of a full entree, kids menus are always like chicken fingers and macaroni haha I want adult food.

Yea i had to get a new one because it was too big. You might need surgery later, after you lose all your weight, it can wreck havoc on your boobs

Going to a Italian Resturant tonight...
HeatherinCA replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh of course, somethings just have waaaay more calories than necessary. One of those things that surprise you. -
Yea, I eat everything.. just in moderation. To me, somethings just aren't worth the calories. Like, I don't want a tiny hamburger for 400 calories.. I'd rather eat an entire meal for 400 calories. Looking at their nutritional content (we don't have sonic here, but some suggestions)... a Sonic burger has 800 calories... but a Jr. Burger has only 310. But remember all the condiments have fat and calories The Grilled chicken salad has 250, plus dressing you can get light ranch for 70, or FF Italian for 25 thats not bad. Or a grilled chicken wrap is 390 calories. http://www.sonicdrivein.com/pdfs/menu/SonicNutritionGuide.pdf

Can someone help me understand
HeatherinCA replied to butterfly815's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't drink.. I guess you could, but it just washes the food down right? It isn't really about weight, it's about size, because your stomach is small. -
Can someone help me understand
HeatherinCA replied to butterfly815's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea I didn't eat 1/4 cup.. maybe closer to 1/2-1 cup Just be careful and don't go crazy, and watch your calories, and start not drinking with meals. I bought little ramikins to put my meals in, and baby forks and spoons that way I didn't feel so deprived. -
Going to a Italian Resturant tonight...
HeatherinCA replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmm I can eat pizza, so i'll usually have one slice. Or get something normal just don't eat much of it. Parm is fried and has a million calories, so does caesar dressing. -
Your recommendations for best mushies
HeatherinCA replied to Appmax54321's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I liked chili and oatmeal -
Can someone give me some pointers?
HeatherinCA replied to kellyjoiii's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you honestly hungry or is it mental??! I know for me I always want food but if I pay attention, it's not hunger. Hmm gosh after I eat oatmeal I can go like 5 hours! Sticks to my insides or something Also obviously you won't be full with 1 piece of cheese... eat more solid Protein that helps me. Can you have chicken or tuna salad? That has like 25g of protein. -
Weight Watchers Anyone?
HeatherinCA replied to LookatmeNow34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My parents started weight watchers online a few weeks ago, my mom is loving making the recipes on their website. We made something together when I came to visit the other day. It was good! I don't feel the need to join it though. I'm already weighing myself, and tracking my calories. Weight watchers is basically a diet and we already have one! I don't really feel the need to pay them for one. Besides, I think Weight Watchers is a bit too much food for me. -
Newly Banded and HUNGRY
HeatherinCA replied to HungryMel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have more shakes!!! I had 3 or 4 a day. Make sure you get at least 60 grams of protein, that should keep you full, the pudding and broth have no nutritional value, so it's not going to satisfy you. For me, I had the shakes, then if I wanted to taste something else I would have broth or a pudding, but I didn't consider the other liquids "food" -
Just the first of I hope not too many weird questions...
HeatherinCA replied to GoMamaGo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the first couple of weeks, you can feel things in your stomach, but now, I can't tell I have anything in there. all the aches and pains are gone I feel normal. -
Any one else disgusted?
HeatherinCA replied to MaineJackie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Restaurants bother me now! I mean how can everything on the menu be like 1500 calories!? That doesn't include like chips, or bread, or appetizers, or dessert... You can't get healthy food almost anywhere, it sucks. I'm just not sure how we got like this as a country, and how not everybody is fat -
How much time between first and second fill?
HeatherinCA replied to stuchols's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine didn't want to tell me, he said it's not important, but he did. They don't want you to focus on that number, just on your diet and working out. I think put too much emphasis on the fills. My doctor gave me a large fill. So assume I'll go back if my hunger comes back, but right now, I can go 4-5 hours w/o eating so I'm good. But if you are getting really tiny fills you will go more often -
Don't have soda and bread that will help... Make sure you eat lots of Protein at your meals that should help your hunger too. 3 hours is pretty good! just eat then in 3 hours have a little snack.. etc Yea, I had a big fill a bout a month ago, but I'm now starting to feel much fuller than i did before.

Any easy at home exercises?
HeatherinCA replied to TanksMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
http://www.exercisetv.tv/ has a lot of videos for free You can do stuff like jogging in place, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups... videos are good though, some of those are really great workouts! and probably the best option for working out at home. -
Looking for Whey Protein Mix recommendations....
HeatherinCA replied to JerseyMom29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To me, all the powders are gross, every brand, every flavor, it's just grainy, and when you blend it, it gets weird and foamy. I liked the pre-mixed Myoplex Lite the best.. I never mixed anything in though.. the shakes already have a lot of calories. -
Don't worry about it, just follow the diet and you will be fine. Unless you ate like a HUGE meaI wouldn't be too concerned about stretching it out.

What should I expect???
HeatherinCA replied to Stephy5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, you are still healing.. but average weight loss is 1-2lbs a week... unless your weight was really really high to being with, then you can lose more. But you've lose a ton! 18lbs in like 3 weeks? that's 6lbs a week. The fills are to make you less hungry. That is their sole purpose. Some people it takes more than others to curb the hunger. You should be getting in 1000-1200 calories when you are on solid foods. If you don't eat enough your body will go into starvation mode and freak out. I know it's hard on mushies, but try to eat a little bit more, get on a normal schedule, remember you have to eat like this for the rest of your life! Make it good, and realistic for your. -
Really...Seriously...Come On!
HeatherinCA replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, before we were eating probably 3,000 or 4,000+ a day, so you will automatically lose some weight by cutting that in half... but you gotta burn off 7,000 calories to lose 2 pounds. -
Gross, But I need to POOP
HeatherinCA replied to Want To Be Thin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still having trouble ack. Just need to eat more fiber probably. I don't mind taking a stool softener or a laxative, but I can't do it everyday obviously -
women how many calories are you taking in a day ?
HeatherinCA replied to amyloveslou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is about 1100-1200. I'd say count them at first, to make sure you are on track, because EVERYTHING has way more calories than you think.
