I have been overweight since I was born! My mom was seven months pregnant whe she went into labor and had to get a c-section due to my size...i was almost 10lbs!!!!My chubbiness was never really an issue to me...I actually like the curves that I had...being hispanic I considered my weight to be in "all the right places" (my butt, hips and breast). But then I settled down and started having children. Since then my weight has gone up dramatically! I have always known that I have gotten really big but never really cared until a little over 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my last child. Somehow I lost almost 60lbs durring my pregnancy and I felt and looked much better...then the weight came back and then some. I got to the point where I couldn't even take my toddler to the park like a normal mom or enjoy a long awaited trip to Disney World because I thought I was too fat to get on the rides...I was afraid that I would get to the front of the line and be told "Im sorry ma'am but you are too big for the seat" and it made me very depressed. I wanted to get weight loss surgery but I could not afford it. SO I just hid.Anyway on to the lap band stuff... Recently I was diagnosed with LPR (Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease) by my allergist (of all people)! I had a horrid cough for years but was always told it was Asthma until I saw him!!! My LPR is so bad that I have to have surgery to correct it. The surgen I was referred to also preforms serveral types of minimally invasive weight loss surgeries and I was told that I could get both surgeries at the same time and the best part is that Medicaid will cover it for me!!!! I am so thankful for that!I am very excited to have this done...I have been ready for a while to take off this fat suit and let the real me out!
