She didnt prescribe anything yet cuz she wants me to go for an appt. next Wednesday. She is supposed to call me back today to give me any other information. I can ask her to call it in for me today though & she will. She was gonna find out from the Surgeon if it will keep me from having the surgery. Thank you for the reply!!:thumbup:

I know how you feel. Im scheduled to have my surgery August 27th & i am so looking forward to it too! I went for my Pre Op testing yesterday. I have my appt. with my Anesthesiologist August 26. Today i found out that my WBC was elevated probably due to a Urinary Tract Infection. Im waiting to find out if this will keep me from being able to have my surgery. Im praying it wont affect anything! Im praying girl. I wasnt told to get on a pre diet of any sort. My doctor said i could & it wouldnt hurt but its up to me. I am drinking some of the Protein drinks. Im sorry you are having to do the diet thing. It is all for the better though. Just think how we are gonna feel in the long run. Good luck to you! I dont understand the difference in the sizes of the band. I read some people have a 10cc some have a 15 cc, etc. Why do some have larger than others? Also why do some people have different amounts of fills? My surgery is August 27th. Im gonna be asking more questions tomorrow, August 18th @ my Pre Op. I have written down different things to ask but are there certain things i definitely need to ask? I appreciate any comments. Thank You!

Hey everyone! I am scheduled for my band on August 27th. I am so excited. I get on here everyday most of the time 3 or 4 times a day. Its so interesting to read everyones story & see how happy they are. Im so ready to be healthy, well i really wanna say SKINNY! I cant wait to go shopping. My girls keep picking with me saying now when i take them shopping to their stores i will do some shopping for myself as well at those same stores! Dont get me wrong, im not gonna dress like a teenager, but i do want to look nice & turn my husbands head again. He has never been mean, ugly or said anything negative to me while being overweight. He has loved me the same way since we got married. Well i am so excited to be a part of this new family. I will keep everyone posted on my journey! God Bless!

Thank you for the info! Im going in weighing 270 & i am 5'3". I just keep forgetting to ask these questions when i go in so this time im writing them down. This is exciting! We will get to go shopping & I finally will not be ashamed to look at myself in the mirror when trying on clothes. When is your surgery? Good luck to you too. We will have to keep in touch.

MY PRE OP DATE IS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 18. IM WONDERING THOUGH WHAT ALL DOES THIS CONSIST OF? WHAT TESTS WILL BE PERFORMED? I KNOW I WILL HAVE TO FILL OUT PAPERWORK BUT SHE ALSO TOLD ME I WILL HAVE TO DO BLOODWORK IF THE DOCTOR REQUIRES IT. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THE NURSE WILL LET ME KNOW THE DAY OF THE PRE OP WHAT TESTS ARE REQUIRED. MY THING IS THAT I HAD BLOOD WORK DONE IN JUNE. I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH. BASICALLY IM JUST SCARED OF THE TESTS COMING BACK WITH BAD RESULTS & THAT HOLDS BACK THE SURGERY DATE. I TOTALLY HAVE MY HOPES UP BUT IM AFRAID ITS ALL GONNA GET ME DOWN IF I FIND OUT ABOUT BAD RESULTS. :thumbup:

I have BCBS as well. I dont know if it matters that its BCBS FEDERAL but here's what i had to do:: 1. Have a BMI of over 40 2. Had to be overweight for 5 years or more 3. Have proof of different weight loss attempts(weight watchers, etc.) 4. My PCP had to write a letter saying that i qualify for the surgery according to weight issues, etc. I believe that was it as far as i can remember. My surgeon had his own requirements that i had to do as well. It took BCBS almost two weeks to approve it. But the surgeon also put on the paperwork he submitted that it was MEDICALLY NECESSARY. I have my Pre Op August 18th & my surgery on August 27. I think altogether it only took a total of maybe 2 months for everything. I hope this helped out. Good luck with everything! Let us know how it goes! Oh also, i didnt have to do any 6 month diet or have to lose anything before the surgery or do any Pre Op diet.

I have to admit that you are pretty darn amazing! I dont know if i could have done the surgery with noone there for me! I myself havent told everyone, only the people that mean the most to me. Im sorry you dont have anyone there to support you, but you have lots of friends here. We are the support system for everyone here. I love getting on here & getting advice & getting answers to my many many questions. You are gonna do wonderful at losing your weight, cuz you've already done all this by yourself. Yay!! You are on your way to a healthier you. I have BCBS & it took them almost two weeks to approve me. There is so much you have to go through first before it even gets submitted to insurance. I have some serious health issues. I have Diabetes, High Blood Pressure & High Cholesterol. Not to mention all the health problems running in my parents family. It will be so worth it when its done and over with. My surgery is scheduled for August 27th. My Pre Op is scheduled for August 18th. I am so excited & nervous at the same time. Im totally looking forward to being healthy & not being ashamed of myself! My husband & daughters have been extremely supportive too. I have only told about 10 other people. HEY EVERYONE! OK, SO MY SURGERY IS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 27,2010. I HAVE BEEN APPROVED FROM MY INSURANCE, BUT NOW I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE INSURANCE SAYING.. EFFECTIVE DATE: AUGUST 30,2010 EXPIRATION DATE: AUGUST 31,2010 I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IT SAYS THAT I HAVE TO HAVE MY SURGERY ON AUGUST 30TH, NOT BEFORE OR AFTER THAT DATE. IS THAT CORRECT? MY SURGERY IS ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 27TH THOUGH. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD BE WORRIED OR NOT? I ALREADY CALLED MY INSURANCE AND THEY ARE GONE FOR THE DAY.

i had to wait almost a week also for the scheduler to call me with my appt date. I called them every day thinking they would not forget who i am. Then on the thursday i was so frustrated & impatient that i told them i wanted to talk to the benefits coordinator to let her know how long it was taking them to schedule my surgery date. I told them i have talked with her before & she told me if i have any problems not to hesitate to call her & she would take care of things. Then what do you know, they called me a couple hours later with my surgery date! Dont give up. Keep on their butts. They dont understand how we are feeling & wanting to get things rolling. i totally understand where you're coming from. My surgery is scheduled for august 27th but i think about it everyday. I'm so excited & am really looking forward to my surgery date. By the way, i'm from louisiana also! I hope all your questions get answered on here. This is such a great support system! I love it here!

I am also with BCBS & they approved my surgery. It took them right at two weeks. I have Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol & Sleep Apnea. They are such a wonderful insurance group. I dont see any problem with you getting approved myself. Girl, i was calling BCBS every day after it was submitted to them from my doctor to make sure they received everything & to make sure evrything was right. They were so friendly & were very understanding about me calling so often. They answered every question i had & even told me stuff that i hadn't even thought of. Dont worry, it will get approved & i dont know about you but i cried when they told me. They were very touched! Just hang in there. My surgery is scheduled for August 27,2010.:thumbup:

Hey Danielle, I myself have only told my immediate family members & my inlaws. Idk, i think i wanna keep the rest of them guessing what i've done. I know it will come out eventually but until then, i'm keeping it on the DL! My surgery date is scheduled for August 27, 2010. I am absolutely so excited about it. I think i'm nervous too but i just think about the outcome of it all. I still have some questions though. I have my Pre Op August 18,2010. Everyone i have told are all extremely supportive & happy for me. My husband has been my rock through it all too. He even jokes with me saying im gonna want to leave him once i've lost the weight. He knows he's the best thing that ever happened to me. Him & my daughters are my reason for waking up every morning & being excited about life!! Good luck with everything! Our insurance approved my surgery & i am so excited about getting started on my new journey! My surgery is scheduled for August 27, 2010. My entire family has been extremely supportive of this decision i've made from the start. My husband has been there for me with everything i have gone through with my weight. He is truly the best man in the world! I dont think im gonna tell friends & even some family members about my surgery. Im just gonna keep them guessing how i did it. Im nervous about the weight loss as to how much i will lose & how fast i will lose it. I am so excited to begin my journey!
