Hi Dooney I am six days post op and feeling good! Minimal pain now, the only pain i have is mainly due to me naturaly sleeping on my side and rolling over in the night. Am sick of the liquid though and am totally craving some soft food like scrambled egg or porridge! I am realy struggling to get callories and protein in as i don't really like milk. Am surviving on yoghurt, milky coffee (but not enjoying) and some home made soup (blended of course). Look after yourself and stay positive Sonny

Have the courage of your convictions and remember why you started this journey in the first place. Be kind to yourself and your band when it is fitted and it will be less likely that anything will go wrong. Think of the benefits it will give you. I am due to be banded on the 17th and can't wait. My surgeon didn't make me do a liquid diet but i am on a two week very low cal, low fat diet and i have lost 6lb in 6 days - that has made me feel great and KNOW i am doing the right thing. Thanks so much for the friend request. I can remember how it felt to count down the days before my surgery. I am so thankful that God allowed to be able to have this band. It is not a quick fix by no means, but it is a tool to help me to becoming a healthier and happier person with my life. I will be praying that everything from this point forward will work out in your favor. Please keep me up dated with you. This site has been a God sent as well. It allows me to reach out to different people all over the world for support and encouragement.

I am due to be banded on the 17th Oct. I am on count down! Two weekends to go until my pre-op diet and i have the jam packed with socialising with my friends and family. not going to go mad but just want to let my hair down! How's things with you?

I told all my family and friends that i am having the procedure in Oct. I have not had one negative comment, they are all really supportive. I have also told my co-workers and have had the same reaction there. This is a decision i have made for me! I don't care if anyone does react negatively - this is for me and me alone! I won't avoid it once i start loosing weight either, if anyone asks how i am doing it - i will be honest. If they don't like it - that's their problem. Sonny

Hiya Everyone, I have my consultation booked for 24th Aug and am due to be banded in Oct (17th). Seems ages away but i am sure it will soon be here. I am self funding. I live in England and although my GP referred me for treatment on the NHS, the funding was denied as i don't have any health problems yet! I have a massive family history of obesity-related problems and this seems so short sighted. I am getting a loan to pay for the surgery. The positives - at least i don't have to wait too long! Hope to hear from any of you with anything to add Sonny-t-p
