    CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

If you want into the July sleevers FB Group, private message me and I will send you the link.
  2. I struggled to stomach them post-op. I resorted to using Lift drinks as most of my Protein. Have you tried adding unflavored protein to sugar free pudding if your allowed it?

  4. I'm 6 days post op now and I'm experiencing the same thing with my largest incision and the one I had my drainage tube in, not sure it's normal or not I just assumed those were where the most trauma took place Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App See, I never had any drainage tubes... is that normal? I mean like I said, the actual incisions all look really good, there's just the severe pain around the largest one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App I did not have a drain tube. From my readings here on BP, it sounds as if most of us don't get one. As for your incision, I would call your office to see if they have an on-call nurse. Usually they do, even if the office is closed. Any discharge from it? My largest was/is also the most bothersome, but it is healing. a little redness is normal due to the trauma of surgery, but if it starts to spread that's cause for concern. I am no medical professional, but it doesn't hurt to reach out to your surgical team at the available time.
  5. That you would tell someone considering weight loss surgery or tell someone who is post-op?

    Crackers

Like has been said many times before each plan, each surgeons group is different. With WLS, there doesn't seem to be any set forth standard. What one Dr allows another doesn't.

    Too FAT for GVS?

Wow good JOB! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App how did everything go? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Surgery went without a hitch. 9 days post op now, and things are feeling good.

    Too FAT for GVS?

Just had the VSG on 7-6-16, and was 433 the morning of surgery.
  10. Did the stool softener help. Im thinking about running to walgreens and getting one Sent From Galaxy Note 5 using the BariatricPal App It did for me. Make sure you medical team allows it. They may offer a different method.
  11. 5 days with a stool softener.
  12. Why can't we just simplify this? Share and kick around ideas. No one is wrong or right? And to each there own!
  13. This. A "follow your program" doesn't require (or isn't) any "vet wisdom". I'm not sure what is regarded as "vet wisdom"on here, but IMO "follow your program" or "talk to your NUT" or "you need to change your relationship with food" isn't valuable vet advice. That's only common sense. I also think of it as strange that people who're only 12 months out are already regarded as vets. Advice from vets is necessary when your individual program doesn't get you the spectacular results you were hoping for or when you're severely struggling with following your program down the road. Advice doesn't have to be anything fancy, it can be as simple as pointing out the title of a book that helped someone get their cravings under control. Ultimately your surgeon or NUT is THE BEST person(s) to seek advice from. Yes, here we can all kick around ideas and what worked for one verses another. But most importantly few to none of us are Dr's here. Just because our plan may allow something, another Dr or NUT may balk at the idea. As for what defines a vet, I can't answer that. Because although I am only 6 days post-op I did a ton of research, reading, video watching, etc. So I think my personal knowledge on VSG and weight loss surgery is pretty high. Would I consider myself a vet? No, but rather someone very well knowledgeable with WLS.

    My story - my struggle

    Awesome! Congrats!!
  17. Varies by person. At least 7-14 days I would speculate.
  18. That's not on my list either, but NUT said I can consume in small amounts. The lists your NUTS or Dr's give you is not all inclusive. When a food choice arises, write it down, and call your team. That's what you're paying them for or ask at a follow up appointment.
  19. Just follow the laid out plan your medical team gave you. The losing will come. Some it comes faster than others. Stay Strong!!

    Post op weight loss

From Wed 7-6 (surgery day) to weigh in day Saturday, I dropped a shade over 8 pounds.

    Constipation.

Happy to say after 5 days post-op it was nice to go. Pre-op I was using the combo of a Fiber combo pill, and a good magnesium supplement. Post-op using just a stool softener.
