Congrats @@tbella67! -
Can anyone recommend any? If I'm going to consume cracker carbs, I would want them to be of a healthy variety. What are you guys using? Appreciate the feedback!!

Thank you for all the feedback!! I guess I have some shopping to do.
-
I will take a look at them. Thanks!

My feet have gotten smaller. 14EW, to 13W and probably smaller, haven't gotten new shoes yet.

Hello everyone, Just curious how far before your goal did you start to consult with a plastic surgeon? I still have some time, but just wanted to plan ahead a bit. My insurance may cover a couple of the procedures such as the apron removal, but I need to know how much money I need to have to do what needs to be done. So I'd like to plan early so that I can start putting the resources together for when the day comes. I'd appreciate any help and feedback. I'm going to probably need an upper and lower body lift, arms, and thighs. Also are surgeons willing to maximize the amount of procedures they do at one time? Thank you all!

I do mine through Facebook. See signature below. -
Thank you! I figured 6 months before, but I need to come up with funds and kind of wanting to nail down a dollar range for the surgeries.

Thank you so much for the feedback!! I guess you're right, you can never start too early.

The quote about not being recognized is somewhat true. I look in the mirror now verses pictures from before I started, and I sometimes don't know who I am.

@@bellabloom, I'm so sorry. What a jerk he is!!! I want to find these "men" and beat the daylights out of them for treating women so poorly.

Anyone have their surgery aborted during the procedure because the surgeon couldn't inflate the abdomen enough to operate safely? If so why? What was your outcome? What did you do afterwards? What was surgeons course of action? Thanks for all the feedback!!

That's true about being through the recovery once, it should make it easier the second time. -

I'm doing okay. Still losing weight on my regime without the surgery. I have not found another surgeon yet. Doing some research about whom to go to. I'm going to continue to lose and then see another surgeon after the holidays. Just want to keep my groove going at the moment and not have it interrupted. Other than that, I am in good spirits and forging ahead one day at a time, one step in front of the other. It's definitely been an emotional roller coaster. Thank you!! I feel your disappointment. My surgery was aborted as well - but for a different reason (they found and removed a tumor). Sorry you're going through this! No fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Wow! How are you doing? It's never fun regardless of the reason why. It's an emotional thing to plan for and then seem to have it fall apart. Silver lining in your case though, is that they caught that. But regardless of whatever the reason for aborting it was, I won't give up. I've come too far on my own to throw it all away. I'm still losing weight post failed surgery, and will continue to do so until I decide whether to do another surgery attempt (with current surgeon or other), or just lose the remaining on my own. Thank you!! -

That's a fairly low BMI for weight loss surgery. I believe most insurance companies cover it at 35 or above with co-morbitities. Good luck! -

Thank you! Finding another surgeon is most likely the next step, but first I want to fully understand what the issue was from this surgeon at my post op visit. Keep up the great work!! -
Days 2-4 were the worst for me, after that it was pretty smooth sailing.

Problem is he says my liver was in beautiful shape and not in the way. He basically said he couldn't inflate me enough to get clearance to operate safely. Thanks for sharing!! Sal that is crazy! If everyone could lose 100lbs before surgery that surgeon would not be in business. Please seek a second opinion. My surgeon wants me to lose 30 &&I've been struggling for MONTHS to do so. It's not impossible for SOME, but why should u have to? Why would be the point of surgery if u could? Follow ur gut &&seek a second opinion. In the meanwhile, keep exercising &&eating right. Thank you! I am definitely seeking another opinion once I see him on Monday for my follow-up. Most surgeons don't want to do an open procedure unless absolutely necessary. There are apparently far more risks and complications with an open procedure. I am definitely going to seek out another opinion after my post op appointment on Monday. Thank you!! I'm wondering if the use of the Da Vinci robot verses doing it manually made any difference. -

Thank you! I definitely will. Right now till my post-op appointment I'm going to sit tight. Once I hear what he says, then I'll plot my next course of action. Until then I'll diet like I was before to continue losing weight. -

@@BLERDgirl Can you see my ticker in my signature line? Started at 688, went into surgery down 212 pounds. Lost that in 21 months. Still have 225 to lose to get to my 250 goal. Current weight 476. BMI surgery day 64.6. Thank you! Going to research and make some calls in the AM. -

Problem is he says my liver was in beautiful shape and not in the way. He basically said he couldn't inflate me enough to get clearance to operate safely. Thanks for sharing!! Well I've been dieting on my own. He said he won't probably attempt the surgery till I lose at least another 100 pounds. At that point I am about 125 pounds away from the goal I set and wonder if I should just continue going at it forgoing the surgery. Or do I see another surgeon and get their opinion? Just don't know what to do at this point. -

SalOdyssey replied to brittneywlsj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well my surgery had to be aborted. I have 3 laparoscopic holes in me. They couldn't inflate my abdomen enough to operate safely. I'll see the surgeon in 2 weeks to regroup and decide what's next.
