LapBand-friendly fast food (don't judge me!)

I love the grilled nuggets. BTW, you don't have to order the whole kids meal. I order just the four piece nugget. I don't want the drink, since I don't drink while I'm eating and I don't NEED the fries so I don't get them. If I got them I certainly would try to eat them. Susan

    please tell me the truth

I can now. I had surgery in Feb 2013. I tried just eating the toppings, since the crust would sit like lead in my belly, but now I've discovered thin crust. Tonight I had thin crust with spinach, tomato, and onion. It's about 200 calories and 7 grams of protein, so not the best choice to meet my protein requirements, but I sure do love it! I usually have it once a week, and I look forward to it. I also make sure I make good, high protein low calorie choices all day prior. Even with the pizza, I've stayed under 1400 calories. This is my maintenance goal. Susan Susan

    Anyone is Colorado?

I'm in Colorado Springs. I attend a support group on Ft Carson. Sorry, I don't know of any groups off base. Susan

    Can I have some feedback?

No eating and drinking at the same time. I use the ap Bariatric timer to make sure I've waited sufficient time. It even reminds me to eat if too much time passes. Susan

    Snacks

I never think of tuna, since I don't care for it.

    Snacks

No, I don't think pizza rolls or egg rolls are a good idea. Soft foods means scrambled eggs, yogurt, or maybe refried beans with a little cheese. Check with your surgeon or nutritionist to see when you can move in to the next stage and what exactly that should consist of. Susan
  11. I'm experiencing this, too. I thought it was allergies, but Claritin no longer helps. Susan

    Feeling nauseous constantly

I agree. You need to contact your doctor and insist on being seen. If you're not able to get enough fluids, it can lead to dehydration. Susan
  13. I don't know if those top 10 things work, and I aged out of the youth method, but I did find that a tummy tuck works! Sadly, I don't know if anything can help if you're genetically pre disposed to sag. Skin just doesn't snap back after 20 something years of stretching. Susan

Stay strong. It does get better. I was weak and miserable for weeks. Once you get pass this hurdle, you will feel so much better! Susan

    Life Changing Push

Wow! I don't know if I could watch that Susan
  19. Until you hear from your surgeon, you probably should go back to stage 1, clear liquids and proteins. If a new stage causes problems, your best bet is to drop back a stage. Your surgeon is your best resource. Susan

Ok imma try to stop weighing EVERYday!

Good choice! That reading will drive you crazy. Once a week is plenty while you're losing. I weigh about every day now that I'm in maintenance, but I expect to see the same thing every day. Now it's a good thing. Susan

If the gas is still bothering you, ask for a heating pad. Susan

    Stalling!

Of course you need to vent. You're going through MAJOR changes! Just realize that it is going to work. I would stay at the same weight for what seemed eternity. Pound by pound, and sometimes it was a single pound, it came off. Try staying off the scale for a while. As long as you're following your surgeons orders, you will be successful. Susan

    Hurt our new tummy

Every surgeon seems to have their own post op routine. They all have the same goal. It is to allow your stomach to heal. Follow your surgeons recommendations. Susan

    Should I be worried?

I agree with @@kimpossible Eat your Protein first! However, if you are still hungry after that, have a vegetable. Carbs, like potatoes should be the last thing consumed. I'm not an ideal WLS patient, but I try to follow this rule. Also, kudos for no drinking with your meal. I downloaded a timer to make sure I wait 45 minutes after eating to drink. It also reminds me to eat if it's been more than 3 hours. It's called Bariatric Timer. Susan
