So glad things went well. How are you feeling now after a few more days under your belt?

It is good to hear you are doing well. I too have been playing with doubts and insecurities. Mostly for just the surgery part. I am nervous and scared. Although I don't doubt I will be successful after the surgery. I'm just scared of complications during the surgery.

My surgery is scheduled for January 5, 2011 as well. But I am in the Kaiser program in Northern California. I'm very nervous as well. Mostly of just the surgery part.

I'm a worrier too and this information is very helpful. I'm scheduled for surgery January 5th and I've been scared and nervous and worried since they told me the date. Lisa

Thanks Stacey. I like him too. What is the name of the nurse you DIDN"T like. How are you feeling today? Have you eaten anything yet? Amber, thanks for the info. It makes sense. I might be at the tail end of it if it comes on time. We'll see. I'll talk to them on the17th when I go in to sign forms.

Stacey, you had Dr. Le too right? David Le? I think I need to talk to them about my monthly. I think I will be having it the time they scheduled me for surgery and I'm not sure that would be a great idea. Thoughts anyone? Stacey, I'm so glad you got through it ok. I just got a call and they scheduled my surgery for January 5th. I'm so overwhelmed, excited, nervous, scared. Confused. Happy.

PS: It doesn't have pre op settings so you can track anything before surgery.

The app is called "My Gastric Sleeve." It's $3.99 for me. Don't know why. I bought it anyway. Looks like a useful app. I'm all about great apps.

Thanks Cookie. I needed to hear that. I feel like deep down it's something I want, but he totally confused me. 55 lbs would change my life. I wouldn't be obese anymore. Let us know how your surgery goes. Aloha Karen, thanks for the input. how have you been doing?

So cookie, can I ask how much you weigh? I started at 219.2. I'm at 206. He didn't tell me to lose anymore, just to stay on pre op diet. Im at 206 now. How long have you been in the program? I started it all on 9/14. He said if I'm sure when I come back, he will go ahead with the surgery and schedule it for January. He also told me about his office staff needing to lose as much as I do and not getting the surgery. Sigh

I went to my appt with Dr. Le yesterday. I'm down to 206. He's pleased. However, he is strongly trying to talk me out of the surgery. He said he felt I could do it on my own since I "only have 75 lbs to lose." ONLY 75 LBS/ He wanted to know if I thought it was worth the risk to have an elective surgery for about 70% of the total amount of weight I have to lose. Does anyone have any opinions? One thing is I've battled the bulge all my adult life. I'm so tired of it. Any advise? He's going to see me again in a month and if I decide to have it, the surgery will be in January.

Sorry, my appt is on Wednesday, not Tuesday. I'm excited to talk to him. Get the ball rolling. Awesome that you have a surgery date. Let us know how it goes. How do you like Dr. Le? My first impression was a good one. I think he has a good track record, right?

I'm down 2 lbs. I won't be down 10. I just don't see how I'll get down 10 by Wednesday. But I think some loss is better then none. I am back on track and have been working out daily. Out of my funk with the sleep apnea machine and life. I'm really excited about seeing Dr. Le on Wednesday. for anyone who has had the sleeve down a while ago., can you resume normal activity with working out eventually? If so, how long did it take? I know everyone is different. Just wondering.

Where are you coming from? I know I live up about 45 minutes north of San Francisco and so I leave about 1 1/2 hours before an appt just to make sure. I have a pre op appt with Dr. Le on the 23rd. I'm nervous. He wanted me to lose 10 lbs and I just haven't been able to. Truthfully not eating so great. I have 10 days left, so will knock out some exercise. I've had a bum knee, a horrible cold, and was diagnosed with sleep apnea, so haven't been doing too great. Just so I haven't gained. I don't think I have. My home scale says I haven't. Hopefully I'll find out some news at that appt. I'm really looking forward to getting the surgery and moving on with my life. I want to get rid of this sleep apnea too.

Aloha everyone. I just want to say how bummed out I am. I found out yesterday I have mild obstructive sleep apnea. I need to go get treatment and surgeon said I have to be on treatment for 2 months before considering surgery. Reason being, while sleeping, your body heals and I'm not getting enough sleep to heal properly. I'm totally depressed about it. It just feels like a giant road block. I would have rec'd my surgery in November. Now I have to wait until probably January. I'll keep posting my progress. Just today I'm super super bummed. Lisa

You will go through the process quick. I will find out about my surgery date after I meet the surgeon again. He wanted me to lose another 10 lbs and I've lost 2. I'm having a hard time so I'm really going to be mindful the next two weeks.

Eric, I am going through South San Fran as well. How far along in the process are you? I had my orientation 9/14. I have been through all the steps except pre op orientation. I am meeting with surgeon on the 26th of this month again to set have a check up and then should get a date after that. I have decided on the sleeve. Have you met with the surgeon or gone through any other classes? :Lisa

My doctor at South san Fran is Dr Le and he told me to lose another 10 lbs. So far I'm down 2. I need to buckle down. I have 8 to go before October 26th.
