Getting A Bit Of Cold Feet..Help, Please!
luv2eat replied to Industrious Bee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember being 2 days into my preop diet and crying to my husband and thinking and saying I couldn't do it. My husband said then don't. I remember thinking ok then don't. I knew I could give up again on myself. But I didn't give up and the next day was better and then the preop diet was over. Surgery day was scary but then it was over. Bandster hell sucked but then it was over. I am going on 4 years this summer. I wear a size 6. People refer to me as thin, tiny, small. I promise this is worth it. Good luck and stay strong. -
This is a huge change for everyone in your life but of course mostly for you. I think you are hungry and haven't eaten and I know that makes me crabby! Plus you are sore and trying to wrap your mind around all of this. I would ask for everyone to cut you a little slack BUT if you do start feeling dark and sad, talk to your surgeon. I am so glad I had this surgery but that does not mean in the beginning I did not regret it and maybe need to just get my head around it. Thats maybe what you are going through and your family just wants you to be happy and positive. Stay strong! And do not be afraid to ask for patience/space/help if you need it.

As others have said it gets better and what you and your mom went through sucks but man, what you are doing is so worth it. You are going to feel so great and you will eat those things again just way less. As a mom I can tell you, your mom is so proud of you even though it is an adjustment for everyone. Stay strong and know it is going to be great!

Hang in there! It gets better. I remember how hard those days were and here I am almost 3 years later. It goes fast. I never allowed myself to read in the post op section of this message board until after my surgery because I was being superstious. Well, it was a huge mistake because there was a lot of stuff I was unaware of. I had no idea about the hunger and pain and I thought what have I done but it was every bit of it and I would do it again in a heart beat. My life is completely changed and it is wonderful. Stay strong. You are amazing and you will get through this!

How soon does surgery happends after approval lfrom. Indurances
luv2eat replied to cary007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the approval and they scheduled the surgery. I would have only had to wait 2 weeks (time to do the preop diet) but my surgeon was going on vacation so it was 4 weeks. It was quick! -
List of post-op items you recommend to get before surgery???
luv2eat replied to BringingSexyBackToTX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think everyone covered it. Main points for me was the gas-x. I got the kind you just put on your tongue and they dissolve. I also agree about big comfy clothes. And as much as you wont want to, walk walk walk. I would just do laps around my room or up and down the hall. I wasn't walking outside but I did walk and it did help. Good luck! -
I would be frustrated too but do not give up. Just like the 2 week pre op diet it sucks but it is what you have to do to get the surgery. Do what they say and do not give up on yourself. I believe in you!

Good for you. You will be amazed at how your positive attitude through this tough time will get you through other tough times. I often think girl if you could live without chewing any food for 3 weeks you can do anything! I am still so proud that I made it and you will be too. It's so worth it. Good luck!! -
Good for you!!! Stay strong. This part comes and goes so fast and the real fun begins! Good luck to everyone! Your lives are about to change and it is going to be fantastic!

My pre-op diet has me feeling aweful..help!!
luv2eat replied to phoenix4ever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sucks! There is no other way to say it but it comes and goes. I hit the wall at day 2. I cried to my husband that I was not strong enough to do it. That was 3 years ago already and it was worth the 2 weeks of hell for what I have now. It is a distance memory. Stay strong. I promise you it is worth it! -
That is fantastic! Good for you!!!

I was always amazed at how much more people commented about my weightloss when I wore clothes that fit. I think it is hard to do it when we are use to wearing baggy clothes to "hid". I even would go as far as to say clothes felt tight when they actually fit but the clothes I wore were so baggy I wasn't use to wearing them correctly. Congrats to you and good luck!

I love this! Before I lost weight, I would read things like these and think how nice would that be. I still get a little choked up when these things happen to me. Wearing regular sizes! The first time I put on a size 10 I had to sit down in the dressing room because I was so overwhelmed. And this was after I tried on the 16, then the 14, then the 12 and finally the 10! Definitely seeing and feeling bones! who knew they were there! Seeing before pictures and seeing a HUGE difference! Running with my kids and not being out of breath. not even worrying that I will need the seatbelt extender on a plane. Good luck to everyone! Its the best feeling to finally feel good and everyone is capable!!!!!

luv2eat replied to IamBeauti's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband is supportive but there is times when I wonder if he deep down has reservations. I have lost almost half of my size. I feel different to him. Overall he loves the new me but sometimes he will comment about liking the old me too. I do get scared but I am happy with the new me. -

The Holiday Challenge
luv2eat replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am weighing in for this week. Down 2 pounds. I missed last week weigh in because I was away with the family for a week. I am happy with no gain over the vacation. To be honest though I was really good and walked a lot. Since being back I have tried a piece of chocolate here or tasted a holiday cookie there. I feel I could be doing better but I also let myself off the hook a little because with vacation and the holiday a 2 pound loss is outstanding. UGH! When does this get easier?!?!?! HAHAHA!!!!!! -

I would love to get in on a December challenge. Congrats to all who worked so hard on the Thanksgiving challenge!!!! -
Same thing for me. I had been the same number since the end of January! But yet my body is different and I have been able to buy smalller clothes in that time so something is changing! I just went for a fill on Friday and I am already down weight so that is helping finally! But I agree with DeeDee, maybe the scale isn't moving but there are other changes happening. Stay strong!

Banded 3/4, Questions!
luv2eat replied to MoTown22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, you are doing fantstic! I don't know about the Vitamin D but as far as the eating goes, I made myself a cup and ate what I could. I would put a cup of say cottage cheese in a bowl and would just try to eat what I could. If I didn't finish it, it was fine. Slowly I did start to want it all and even more to be honest. As far as getting stuck, that only happened to me once I had a few fills and it felt like I had to burp but instead of only air coming out, the food I just swallow came up too. It isn't like throwing up in the sense that there is bile too. Just what you just swallowed. To try and avoid this, take very small bites to begin with. Good luck! -
I would like to join too! I am having surgery soon so I really need to watch what i eat since I have to be totally un-filled! : (
