I had my lap band on 8-17 and also had a hiatal hernia repair done, I never knew it was there but was told I may not need prilosec anymore. YAY I have had some discomfort in the epigasrtic area and bloat but not terrible. Afriend of mine who is a surgery nurse told me no lifting over 10 lbs or bending over any more than I must for about 4-6 wks.

I am also morbidly obese and it is an ugly terminology, but I got my band on 8-17-10. I went to mexico because my insurance covered only RNY and that was not for me. I could afford it in mexico and did my homework. Dr Corvala did mine and i am doing well, still on my clear liquids and next tuesday I get to go to full liquids GOODY! a change of food choices, and today my entire system is working again. All my plumbing is now in working order. If you are 100lbs overwt they call it morbid. Hang in there and try really heard to take off some wt before your surgery.

You are 5 days earlier than I am octroy. I am doing pretty well and my pain level is now pretty well controlled by tylenol now. I was wondering if you got your here in this country or mexico, I went to mexico. they sent me home with this creme called recoveron-nc I do not really know what it is for and am waiting for a call back about that, the nurses told me soap and water only and dressing changes. I am not hungry either! and am on clear liquids til 24th, that will be one week. of course no wt loss yet but I am hopeful this will work for me. I need to lose 76lb to make my first goal. then i will make another.

Hello All, i am home and was banded on aug 17th, everything went well and I also had a hernia repair. I am sore but no nausea or vomiting and the pain med is toradol i think and it has worked pretty darn well. I have put on 4 lbs though I guess it is swelling maybe or my bodies defenses to hold on for a bumpy rise maybe. I have faith it will start going the other direction though. thank you all for the support your all so lovely.

Later today I go to the motel near the airport to park and fly out in early AM, then in 3 hrs we arrive and the surgery day is here!! I am nervous about post op pain and vomiting. I have read some good stories and some scary stories. I wonder what my story will be. :cursing:

Hi Moo, I am getting mine this next tuesday and am also very nervous and tired of hi pro shakes and such. I am exactly twice your age but I am very healthy so hope to heal quickly and get to the wt loss stuff. and the lifestyle change, over the past 18 months I have been losing wt slowly and have taken off 36lbs may your surgery go very well and mine too.

Hi Dena,Congratulations it is over and now you can heal and lose lose lose! I am getting mine on aug 17th and am so nervous, they always tell you it is a breeze and then back to work in a week, I am taking 2 wks off. may your pain go away very quickly and you heal quickly without any complications.

I am going to be flying for 3 hrs each way so I am wearing a loose dress also and a stretch bra from walmart,loose undies as well and sandals. I am worried about the pain level flying home and the wait until the flght.

I am getting banded on august 17th in Tijuana by Dr Corvala. I had looked into the RNY and decided against that one, I think you should not feel like failure about it at all but I do understand that feeling, as I to felt for years I could do this myself, I am now 56 and my decision is made, I want to be healthier for the last half of my life and I need this help to learn to eat less and make better choices I see this band as a tool and I am going for it. Life turns on a dime and you never know what is coming but I finally made my decision. Bless you as you make yours.

I am so nervous excited,and scared about this banding, I have been eating very light for a week and staying kinda hungry now today for 7 days I am going to follow the diet given to me and it is liquid and hi protein bars and if i must a piece of chicken, an egg of low fat cheese. I hope I survive work this week. I will have only one week off and I sure hope that will be enough. To feel well enough to return to work at that time.

Hello, I am going to get the band on august 17 in Tijauna. I am very nervous and have been thinking of it for about 18 months my insurance would have paid for RNY but I just could not do that one. To scary for me. Pray all will go well for me.:party:

Oh wow, same day, I am so nervous and my husband is very worried, when I first told my girls last april they flipped so I put it off, I am going to tell them when it is over so they won't fret so much. Where are you going to have the the surgery?

Dr Cordova I believe is his name. I am getting very nervous and tomorrow I am going to start the diet that was sent to me it is hi protein low carb.

OH thank you so much emmelouwho, may yours go extrememly well too. I have been reading everything I can and trying to stay on this low carb hi protein till I get there. that is supposed to help. I am trying to drink sips of water all day and not gulp it down, thanks for responding,sure appreciate it.
