mentalistfan got a reaction from SkinnyDown in Tummy Tuck Questions
In April I had to buy a new summer wardrobe, but I'm not complaining. I have 10 lbs. to lose to reach goal. I am wanting a Tummy Tuck this winter and I have questions. Does a tummy tuck help reduce the waist area? How much weight did you lose due to having the tummy tuck? Did you go down a pant size? How many days was the pain miserable? How far after the surgery did the swelling go down and you could see results? How far out until you saw final results? I weigh 145 and I plan on being at least 135 when I get it. Thanks

I found the realself.com website helpful to find out about surgeons's fees across the nation. People typically list what they paid in their posting. There's also links where you can click on specific reviews on surgeons near you.

Just got my date! Excited but pensive. I am a low BMI and thus a self pay, but my comorbidities make me feel like I just have to do it. I've spent most of my life rather slender until my thyroid threatened my life and it was removed. Add 75 pounds quickly and you get HBP, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, sleep apnea and an emergency gall bladder removal--all in four years! My stats are:
Age 53
Height 5'6"
BMI 34
SW 200
CW 200
Goal 145
Fantasy Weight 125
Good news is I don't have to pre-op weight loss and I only have to do special Meal Replacement shakes for three days prior!

mentalistfan reacted to judyoz in Went for my almost 5 week post op visit
I am cleared to eat anything I can handle. I am down a total of 30 pounds and feel great. I lost 6 pre-op.
I made Parmasean cheese crisp tonight. They are a little piece of heaven. I enjoyed chewing something crispy and it was not bad for me.
Take Shredded parm cheese and put into bottom of muffin tins, just enough to cover the bottoms. bake for ABOUT 6 minutes at 300 degrees, watch carefully. They will stiffin up after they are out of oven.
I suppose this is old hat to a lot of you but, just incase someone does not know.
Tomorrow I am going to have a naked cheese enchilada and some Beans.

mentalistfan reacted to Bandista in I bought a dress today and......(wait for it)......
It's SLEEVELESS. Oh. My. God. Me, in a sleeveless dress? Well, yes! I put this under Fitness & Exercise, because, lol, this is the most motivation I've had in months for getting down to the basement and working out on the BowFlex. Here's to it.

mentalistfan got a reaction from mysleeve in Vitamins and stuff
In Sundays newspapers you can find coupons and see the sales. CVS and Rite Aid have little cards that give % off. I buy Women's Centrum for my Multi-Vitamin, I buy any on sale for b-12 and Biotin. I used Caltrate for Calcium.< /p>

I should mention the skin (and attached fat) is on my stomach and side(s) from under my chest all the way down to my groin - if that makes a difference.

I say, I'd rather have scars...you might have to buy a larger size shirt just to fit around your arms

mentalistfan reacted to LosingIt74 in Date and approval!
Got the call today to set up my date...Novemeber 10th! 2 hours later she called back to tell me I was approved! Amazingly fast! Next step is my final appointment with the surgeon for last minute questions and weigh in, followed by pre op tests. Then on the 6th I have a nutrition class for post op diet.
Time to start that countdown!

Hi!! When is your date?.Mine is tomorrow and my emotions are all over the place. I'm excited that I am going to be starting my life over but I get nervous especially thinking about what's the worst that can happen. But I know God's got me. I just gotta stay prayed up you know. But don't be nervous. I just keep telling myself the pros outweigh the con's and we will be ok. Good luck to you

mentalistfan reacted to sherry24184 in Brachioplasty-Arm Lift completed! Dr. Juan Pablo Cervantes
I did it! had my surgery on 9/1/14 in Mexico with Dr. Juan Pablo Cervantes in Tijuana. So far everything has been amazing. No real pain at all. I had it much worse plated out in my head. I stayed from Sunday (night before) and left Friday morning. Drains were removed Thursday and stitches will dissolve anywhere from 120/150 days. I'm to take weekly pics to send to him to review and he is available to me anytime I have a question or concern. Amazing difference!

I'm another 8/25 sleever. I'm still on liquids only so I'm drinking my shakes, broth and Water and doing really well. I've been VERY lucky to have had no issues or even pain really. Counting my lucky stars.

mentalistfan reacted to Kmil2009 in 1 year down, many to go!
Hi guys! I'm new to the site, just thought I would check it out! I had my sleeve done August 2013 in Mexico. I started out 235 wearing 14-16 pants and L-XL shirts, I currently weigh 125 wearing 2-4 pants. It has been an interesting journey to say the least, but one that I would not change- for anything! I would recommend it to anyone and everybody!

mentalistfan got a reaction from BeagleLover in New to this sight
After surgery I really like Water better with the flavors added! My taste hasn't changed much like I hear a lot of people talk about. I liked Premiere Protein in chocolate before surgery and I still like it after surgery.
