Great Job!!? -
I was sleeved 4/7 too! Yay! Finally others! [emoji846] I make soup like I normally do, then strain it. I only drink about 1/4 cup over 30 min or so... i put the rest in a bowl and pour a little in my cup at a time and heat it in the microwave at work...

Hernia repair and Sleeve

I had both done- no issues- best of luck!! -
I am a week out - they kept me an extra day because nothing was passing through where the band had been (it was removed in 2013) - Wednesday- I was finally able to tolerate moving to the protein shakes- I manage to sip on them for about 30 min and they are going down. I have another week of liquids but the only other things going through are popsicles, jello, hello pudding, and broths... I am hoping the swelling is going down! They didn't do a follow up image... I would give liquids another week...

I had a band put in in 2008 and had it until 2013 - lost 120 pounds and did well until the scar tissue built up around my band and pretty much kept me on a liquid diet- couldn't eat anything solid without it coming back up! I had it removed and decided I could keep the weight off. I did for a while but eventually have gained weight back. I went through the revision paperwork and was denied 2 times and finally wrote an appeal letter on the last day of my 180 days to appeal and got approval. I have surgery Friday. I told people when I had the band and this time I'm trying to keep it to myself. I have a co worker taking me and was hoping uber can take me home from the hospital- I'm struggling with not telling my Parents and that big what if something happens during surgery... slim chance I know... but still the stress of figuring out how to make this happen is crazy- I wish there were services where you could pay a trust worthy stranger to pick you up, stay, and get you home.

Great! Hang in there!!!

Thanks! I haven't had an issue getting in the protein at work. I drank Isopure on Tuesday and Wednesday between water and tried the premier protein on Wednesday but it was not going through very well... i think I still had some swelling... but finally it has gone down...I have had no issues with sipping them today and got my 60 grams in with the protein... snacks were a sugar free Popsicle and a container of sugar free jello... I hope you are healing well- how is your recovery going?

Just an update- I had Surgery on Friday. I have a desk job so came back to work on Tuesday. I'm amazed that there has been so little pain! I guess that is because my dr used my old sites for the laparoscopy which is scar tissue. Hardest thing about this is trying to get in all the protein and liquids to stay hydrated but that is getting easier.

Body cavity gas - the pains probably in your shoulder or side can only be relieved by walking. The pains you feel when drinking liquid is gas that can be helped by gasX or chewable tabs or liquids for gas (baby gas med) but honestly if you can work up a burp- it will resolve quicker and you will feel so much better. Congratulations!!!

I get that way whenever I go into Ketosis- body is releasing estrogen stored in your body fat... I'm 4 days post surgery and have had spotting since day 3 of my pre-op plan. I am not concerned about it but if you are, go seek assistance. Best wishes!

I had surgery 4/7 - had one BM which is a total mystery to me because I've had liquids for a week before surgery and since surgery- not sure what is in my system to come out- so not worried about it yet.... haven't had any pressure to go either... hang in there

They let me take uber home from the hospital. Thanks!

I had surgery April 7th- just got home- had the dry heaves earlier- so good to see similarities! I am still doing isopure every 15 min.

Kinda OT: What do you guys think of Mama June's news headlines about her VGS & Body Lift?
resitton replied to LittleLizzieLilliput's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I watched the series and think it did a great job portraying WLS- she made her protein shakes and fixed dinner for her kids- showed her food addiction, even going to a support group for it (after surgery) this is no easy fix and it showed that people battle food issues in their life. The body lift surgery pain- that one got me- and depression of changes... yep- I was not a Honey Boo Boo fan, but liked this one- it's a reality show- but for what it was- it did a decent job. I will just say the comment about her legs and arms.... weightloss surgery doesn't make your body look like a models... everyone is different. She is healthier! -
Same! I'm having revision surgery for the lap band and not telling a soul- I told people when I had the band... I hated that became the topic and from family- same stuff - can you eat that? Did you get sick again? Are you bulimic? ughhh I was questioning not telling until I read this.... thanks for the reminder!

After I lost 120 pounds with the band and posted my before and after pictures- several of my coworkers and close friends came up to me and said they never believed I was that big... I think we have an image in our heads and fix on it - and the people that see us frequently don't see us the same way and don't see the change like we do. I don't think the other coworker was being mean in not recognizing your weightloss- she probably sees you as YOU not your body and that to me is a great thing.

My doc said no red or purple liquids 2 days before so to me that meant no red frozen pops... I have surgery Friday- Best Wishes!!

I just got my approval today- I was denied BCBS for revision to lap band removed in 2013... I was denied the first submittal (8/2016)and again when my surgeon requested a peer review. I felt rejected but finally took in my appeal the day before my 180 day period was to run out. I wrote a letter and thought for sure it was going to be denied again... approval arrived exactly 30 days after submitting my request. File the appeal!
