Dr Alanis was my surgeon, too.

My stomach is completely healed and I am eating about a cup a meal. Some foods use to hurt, but now everything is tasting good without any discomfort. Now that I can eat anything, I am having a hard time resisting sweets. I am 18 months out and I am really fighting to keep this in check. Anyone else having this head hunger problem? If so any suggestion to overcome it?

Yes I need to get back to measuring my food. Especially since I can eat more than that now. Thanks for the advice Mews.

Sleevers Vs Revisioners
JanieL replied to luckylady131's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Sleeve was my first WLS. I thought about the band and did a lot of research and realized I needed to go the way I did. Best thing I have ever done for myself. Went from 327 to 155 in 16 months. Hope you do well with your decision. -
About 1 1/2 Years Out! Will I Stop Losing?
JanieL replied to Losingnva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No, you can continue to lose weight after 2 years. If you exercise and watch your calorie intake the weight continues to come off. What happens is if you aren't careful you will began to eat more and start to gain it back because your stomach is completely healed and you get to where you can eat anything you want. It becomes a case of disipline on your part. Head hunger still plays a great part in your struggle to lose and keep the weight off. I am nearly 2 years out and am beginning to have to use self control more than I have in the past. Remember this sugery is a tool, we choose to use it correctly. -

Insurance Companies DO cover plastics
JanieL replied to LoquaciousLaura's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am so glad to hear I might be able to get some help with all the extra skin I have. Thanks for all this great info. I am going to see a plastic surgeon next week to see about breast reconstruction because of a lumpectomy I had because of recent breast Cancer. The nurse said the breast had to be bad enough for the insurance to consider implants. I am so saggy losing all my weight then on top of that having a chunk taken out because of the lumpectomy. i sure hope he helps me get this fixed. Maybe even help me get oked to do a tummy tuck. Here's hoping! -

weight 327 -
I had my vertical sleeve surgery a little over a year ago and have lost from 327 to 160. That's a total lose of 167 lbs. I made my goal of getting to 175 and never thought that I would get to where I am now. Now hoping to go down to 150. The last time I weighed that was when I was 20, that was 39 years ago! I feel amazing! this is the best decision I have ever made in my life! Here is a before shot and a current one.
