Had a .4 fill added to my band almost a week ago and think she missed my port and put the saline in my muscle. Anyone else ever dealt with this?
-
Because I have a massive bruise and a huge knot in the muscle where she accessed my port . I have been banded for almost 5 years and have had my band adjusted several times and never had any problems. Plus it hasn't felt any tighter this time. And I can always feel the difference

to the fellow banders being banded this week. good luck. I cant believe that it is almost here. Wednesday is my day!!

mskitten2123 replied to Mandyrae's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was told that as long as I am using skim milk (still in pre-op) I am free to mix my protein shakes with milk. -

My Medical Loan or CC? "No Patient Left Behind"
mskitten2123 replied to blondeej's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I almost used this company for my surgery but in the end had a family member come through for me. I understand your concern and was not comfortable with "the no patient left behind" program. 1. they could not tell me if I had to put in 50% or 75% of the total cost before the would fund the rest. 2. I would rather my money sit somewhere I know that it is safe. I am not comfortable with giving them that much money before "they fund my surgery" 3. They wanted an automatic transfer from my checking every month in a set amount. again not comfortable giving them that info either. In the end I was not comfortable with the company so chose to use care credit. I felt better that my surgeons office recommended them and have experience working with them. They wouldn't say anything negative about " the no patient left behind" but their lack of words made we realize that they weren't right for me. hope that helps -

okay as far as shakes go I guess. I am the type of person that couldn't do the slim shake diet because I couldn't stand the taste of the chalky shakes. lol but these really aren't too bad. they are thick. I am just glad that i get to mix them with skim milk instead of water. I have the chocolate and strawberry. So far only tried the chocolate. -

Hi everyone!! My name is Tracy. I am a 33 year old mom of three. 6 yr old twins and a 14 month old. I have struggled with my weight since I was 12 years old. I have had some short term success with diets and exercise but nothing that ever lasted. Right before I found out I was pregnant with the last baby I had lost 90 lbs (280 highest weight ever to 190). I felt great, was healthy and happy. But of course being pregnant I put the weight back on. Not quite as much as I had lost (thank goodness). Now it seems that I just cant get it off. I have struggled to lose the same 20 pounds over the last year. Take it off and then it just comes right back. I started researching the lap band in March on this year. I had actually thought about it before I lost the 90 lbs. Finally in july after I felt confident that I was make the right decision for me and my family, I went to a seminar. Since I am self pay (hubby's insurance as an exclusion) things have moved pretty fast. I am almost one week into my pre-op diet and scheduled for surgery on the 25th. At my consult I was 251 and I am going to work toward 130-135. I am so looking forward to getting some of this weight of and feeling better. I look forward to chasing my kids at the park or taking them swimming and not being worried about how i look. There are so very many things that I am looking forward too but most of all I want to give myself every chance I can to watch my children grow up. Anyways, that's me and the start to my journey!! I look forward to getting to know all of you better and supporting each other as we all venture down the road to happy, healthier selves.

I am a self-pay too. I wish insurance would pay but I am not that lucky. I wish you well on your journey.
