  1. Happy 38th Birthday Mom_in_MN!

  2. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary Mom_in_MN!

  3. Well everyone...I made it through the pysch evaluation today. After 567 questions I started questioning my sanity...just kiddin! This evaluation is the last insurance hoop, now for my Dr.'s office to send in the request. My insurance company told me it takes from 3-10 business days to make a decision so I'll take all the crossed fingers/toes and prayers anyone could throw my way! I continue to remind myself that there SO many people in my same exact position within our new journey of life and think of everyone often! I'm truly starting to feel like I'm taking back control of my life! Woooohooooo!
  4. Hey all! I just had my last 6 month supervised diet appointment, now all that's left is my pysch evaluation next week. Cross your fingers for an APPROVAL for me. I'm almost sick to my stomach. All I want to hear is a surgery date to get this journey started. Anyone else near the same stage in this game as me? Would love to pick your brain and see how you're feeling too.
  5. Well I'm on day 2 of no smoking in preparation for my surgery. I have 1 "supervised diet" appointment, my pysch evaluation left and then approval so I figure I'd better quit now! It's going ok just a horrible withdrawal headache. I'm using the patch so the cravings aren't too bad. I figure I've come this far with this process that I should do all I can to make the surgery go as well as possible!
  6. Hey all! I had a client tell me about this Couch to 5K. Has anyone done it/or doing it? I'm 2 months into my 6 month pre-op medically supervised diet and feel it's time to literally get off the couch and start doing something.
  7. Hi Jen! I too am doing my 6 month required "diet". Unfortunately I'm only on month 1 so I don't forsee getting banded until March. I hope the new few months go by quicker than heck. How's the "diet" going for for? Hope all is well! Mari
  8. Hey all! I did it!!! I drank enough Water and had a BMI of 36!!! All I have left is my 6 month medically supervised "diet". I'm hoping to get it all done and the next 6 months go by quickly. Hoping you're all well!

    any one from minnesota

Hey girls! I'm in MN also, SW MN to be exact. I'm doctoring at Sanford in Sioux Falls though. I had my inital appointment with my surgeon today and was extremely borderline with my BMI but made it with a 36!!! Very exciting day. Where are you both from? What stage are you in with your history? Hope to hear from you soon!
  10. Hi Dar, I'm unfortunately borderline with a 35 BMI but like you I have a couple of co morbidities, hoping to discover more as the process moves forward. (how messed up is it to say that) As stressful and high maintenance as this process is and gonna be, I'm excited to begin!

    2011 Banders

Hey all! I too, am starting my journey. I've done so much online research, attended the seminar, first month of the 6 month supervised diet done and have my initial appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I'm having a ton of anxiety for my appointment tomorrow as I'm extremely borderline with my BMI and hope I will even qualify. I've made my mind up that this is something I'm committed to and I'm praying it all works out. I've only told a few people about this decision so I'm thankful for having you all here. Good luck to everyone!
  12. Hi Cocoa, Yep, I've checked with my insurance. They require a BMI of 40 or 35 with co morbidities, of which I have high blood pressure, poor joints and some emotional affects of the poor self image (those are their "insurance" terms). I've battled my weight for almost 15 years with a long history of Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Optifast etc. I'm also required to have a 6 month medically supervised diet which I officially started last week. I'm hoping they take my weight on Wednesday as my insurance qualifiying weight. I'm also hoping I measure 5'2" instead of 5'3". Re-reading my words here almost makes me chuckle because it all seems so comical just to become healthy and happy. The one thing I'm certain of is that no stress will hinder my appetite so I'm gonna give it my all over the next couple of days. I've been told to drink alot of Water prior to my appointment and wear the heavy clothes. Keep your fingers crossed!
  13. Hey all! I have my first appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday and I'm so extremely borderline with my BMI of 35. I will be heartbroken if I don't qualify! Any words of wisdom?!

    Trying to stay positive...

Jenn, I live in Marshall so I'm doctoring in Sioux Falls with Dr. Glatt. I just had my first of my 6 months of medically supervised appts today with my doctor and meet with my surgeon next Wednesday. Hoping for the best for ALL of us!
  15. Hi all! Like most, I just found out I need the 6 month medically supervised diet for insurance. I've attended a LapBand seminar and will meet my surgeon on September 1st. I'm extremely borderline with my barely 35 BMI so here's what I'm asking...do I gain/lose/or maintain during this 6 month diet? I'm excited as my journey begins yet hoping I can endure the "hoops". Hope you're all well.
