What birth control should I use?

I just got the Mirena IUD and I've never been pregnant. The gyno told me that there would be a chance than my uterus would be too small, but then didn't have any issues.

    Inconsistency with my band

I've also found my band is very inconsistent. I've realized lately that a big issue that no one really told me about was dealing with my allergies and sinus drainage. It seems like when I have a lot of sinus drainage, my stomach is really irritated and I have problems keeping most things down, but if I remember to stay on top of the decongestants and allergy meds, not only does my head feel better, I'm able to eat more consistently. I asked my doctor about this and she said it is very normal, but haven't really seen too many other people comment on this issue. Now is my peak allergy season and it just seems like my band hates the pollen as much as my head. Oh well, this will pass . . . soon, I hope.

    Happy 2011 July 2010 Bandsters!

My goal is to also have lost 100lbs total on my 1 year band-aversary, but I need to get back to the gym regularly. I had a little set-back as I decided to start running in the fall and ended up tearing the meniscus in my knee. I had surgery in Jan, and have been fully released to go back to the gym and exercising, but haven't gotten back on track. I need some motivation. I've got great restriction, and sometimes probably too much, but I think my main issue these days is just remembering to take my sinus meds, because the extra drainage really affects how well I'm able to eat. Anyone else have this issue?

    Breakfast Problems

Like you, I have a very hard time eating and even drinking milk or a Protein shake in the morning. I've found that if I have some hot tea or coffee and wait a little while, I can usually manage some yogurt or a shake. I've talked to my dr and she said to really try and get some protein down in the morning, even if it is only a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of milk. I've found that in the last month I've got really good restriction and have to really focus on just getting enough protein and calories in every day, my problem is if I get the protein/calories then I have a hard time getting enough Fluid.

    Greek Yogurt

I guess I'm one of the odd balls - I don't really like regular yogurt, but love the greek yogurts!

    vitamins and meds

I was able to take the meds the first day, the only thing was that I had to take them a couple at a time instead of all at once like normal. I also take metformin and it wasn't (and still isnt) an issue.

    vitamins and meds

I'm now 6+ weeks since surgery and don't seem to have any problem swallowing pills (and I've got some horse pills).

    Newbie from Colorado

Good Luck! I'm sure you'll be feeling better soon. I noticed right after my surgery that it hurt when I coughed or sneezed, but if I would hold my abdomen it wouldn't be so bak. I'm now about 5 1/2 weeks out and am doing great. I've started running with a goal of doing a 5K in November. I've lost about 13 pounds since the surgery and have had 1 fill, but have very little restriction, if any. My next fill is scheduled for Tuesday.

    Couch to 5K ?

I love this program - I'm on week 3 and its a challenge, but I'm so excited I can actually do this. Keep up the great work everyone!

    Catheters and TOM...

It was actually my TOM when I had surgery and they made me remove my tampon and put on these crazy mesh undies with a monster pad for the surgery. No problems at all, in fact, I think the surgery meds did a miracle on my cramps because I usually have them really bad for 2 or 3 days and I only had them for about 3 hrs before the surgery.

    Couch to 5K ?

We can do this!! Today will be W1D3 and after my "run" on Tuesday, I'm thinking I may do 4 days of W1 instead of 3 before going to the next week. We'll see how today goes. I'm also going to try doing this at the gym as opposed to the park and see if that helps me fell like I'm prepared to move on.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Congrats to all of you who have done a 5K - I just started the C25K today. Its been a little over 2 weeks since my surgery and today was the first day of jogging in a really long time. I was glad to hear that other people have to hold their port when jogging and that compression shirt/shorts help - I'll be looking into those tomorrow. Wish me luck, I'm planning to run my first 5K in 15 years this November with a couple of friends. I used to run in high school and college, so I'm looking forward to getting back to it again.
