    Greek yogurt

I could not stand the 0% greek type- but found the Fage Strawberry 2% to be pretty good- and honestly its all in the method in my opinion- take a spoon w/ yogurt- then add a little strawberry to the tip. Good Luck!

buddy needed for leesburg va guy

I'm in Charlottesville, good luck with surgery. I had mine on 2/8/11. Let me know if I can help with questions, I may not be able to give the guy perspective though.

    Things to get before surgery

Fiber gummies helped me. I'm alergic to the red dye in foods/meds so stool softners were out of the question, and after a couple days of pure liquids and pain meds it helped. I used an ice pack for my port scar, I requested one in the recovery room and thats one thing I don't think I could have done without in the hospital or at home. (Plan was to go home after surgery and xray but was admitted due to having my lung punctured in surgery (VERY RARE- a first for my doc) I also had my gall bladder removed too). Pillows at home- I had several that were flat and that helped when propping up and moving. Also a travel pillow I held to my stomach for moving around the house. Insulated large cup - less trips to get Water if no one is around to help, although walking is highly encouraged. I went against docs orders and used a straw, didn't have gas problems in my tummy, just shoulder area which came from the actual surgery. Step stool if your bed is higher than comfortable sitting height. I was allowed to shower as soon as I felt comfortable - I could have showered at the hospital but decided going home to shower was a better idea. 100% fruit juice, I diluted mine a lot, and lots of ice. Also drank lots of unsweetened tea. I think thats it.... good luck!
  4. I got mine from Amazon.com- they were 6 for 90 pills. I didn't get them for the vegitarian factor, I just have issues with colors and food additives. So far so good though. I signed up for the auto delievery (can be canceled at any time) and you get an additional discount. Goodluck. Let me know if you can't find it for some reason.
  5. Wishing tomorrow wasn't Monday and that the alarm didn't go off at 4:30 oh my!

  6. I have found VEGAN Deva brand mini vitamin pills. They are tiny. I thought about the essentials, but am alergic to the red dye that they contain. Tired of having to chew gummies or avoid red dyes in the childrens versions.
  7. I could not do the Protein shakes... they were just unbearable I didn't do well with the milky taste or the artificial sweeteners. When I had to have protein if I had not made the quota for the day I used Genesis 100 protein (got it from amazon.com), its a 1 oz serving that has 15 grams of protein for approx 60 calories. So much easier to get something down that's concentrated. It didn't taste great, very sweet and orangey but I made it work, now 3 weeks out I have not used it since probably the first or early second week. Good Luck!

    Single Hiccup?

I have the single hiccup thats extremely loud. Mine doesn't have a typical time but its something I can't control and I have been given funny looks. I was thinking it had something to do with my lung collapsing during surgery, but maybe not?
  9. Still tired from surgery....

  10. I have BCBS of IL through a company that is located there but I'm in VA and was told flat out that its not covered and never will be.
  11. Has anyone tried vitamist vitamins? They come in spray tubes. My mother used to sell them years ago and they are still around (vitamist.com) you can order them without a consultant now I believe. But I am hoping to have surgery early next year and am hoping to be able to take those. I am alergic to red dyes therefore some vitamin chewies are not a possibility for me. I am also having a hard time finding a protein water that does not contain red dyes.
