Nobody has any info on this???

Ok folks I cannot seem to find the info I am looking for. What makes the largest band and what is the size??? Inamed Swedish VG Band I need to know which is the largest band NOT which holds the most Fluid. I have one doctor saying Inamed makes the biggest band and I have another doctor saying the Sweedish band is the biggest. HELP!!!!! Thanks, Eric

Mark, Thanks for the response. I do have another doctor working on my case, Dr. Malley. He is a lapband surgeon and is my fill doctor. He is quite puzzled and stumped as to what is causing this. Dr. Malley is at a lapband conference in Colorado and he was going to check with other lapband docs. I haven't heard back from him so I am keeping my fingers crossed. The diagnosis that "your body is rejecting the lapband" is somewhat ambiguous since I have no swelling or redness or anything of the sort. Just very odd I think to get to that conclusion this early. I welcome others thoughts on this. Thanks, Eric

Dr. C, Did you by chance find out if there is a difference in the circumference of the J&J band vs. the VG?? I heard back from the original surgeon, Dr. Joya, and he now says that it seems my body may not be taking to the lapband and he is suggesting either the Gastric Bypass or the Gastric Sleeve. Any thoughts? I am very frustrated and worried about this possible change. Thanks, Eric

Dr. C, I appreciate anything you might come up with as I seemed to have stumped my local lapband doc and am waiting to hear back from Dr. Joya's crew on this issue. Thanks again, Eric

Dr. C, Thanks for your reply. What is the difference between the VG band and the 10cc Sweedish band? The 10cc Sweedish band is what I have on now. How is the VG band any different and do you think a change in bands MIGHT solve this situation? Many thanks for all the replies, Eric

Yep it sure does....but with patience and enough sipping I get through my 4 bottles of Water. Eric

When I have tried the mushy foods it was always extremely small bites. Never big bites at all. My doc said the same thing that the fat around the stomach should disapate and the stomach should loosen up and allow food down but that has not yet happened. He did confirm through fluoro that liquids go down just very very slowly. I do stay hydrated enough as I drink about 4 bottles of Water a day (16.9 oz bottles) I sip on the water all day long. So I don't know what to do now. Thanks for the thoughts so far. Eric

Hello Everyone. I was hoping someone might have heard/seen/experienced this problem with their band. I was banded on 12/28/2006. I am still too tight for mushies. They just won't go down. I have been to a well respected lapband doc here locally and he has checked me under fluoro several times and the band is not slipped/agitated at all. I am just a super tight fit. I have the 10cc Sweedish band and have NO FILLS. All I can have is liquids. No puddings/applesauces/yogurt as they won't go down. Nothing is stuck in the band..... What to do? Any ideas? The weight loss is great! 100+ lbs in less than 2 months but I would like to taste real food again some day. I look forward to anyone's thoughts on this. Eric P.S. My fill doc is absolutely stumped too.

Believe me I want to take in more protein but how can I do this on the clear liquid diet that I still have to be on for a few more days? Thanks, Eric
-
Hello All, I was banded on Dec. 28, 2006 so I am not quite a week out yet. I have been following the clear liquid diet very strictly. However, today is the first day that I have felt hungry quite often throughout the day. How can I combat this and what can I have. All I have been eating is Jello (sf kind), Water, and crystal light. I appreciate the suggestions. I need help as I have significant less energy than I did in preop. I am guessing this is due to no Protein as preop I was getting 186 grams of protein each day with my shakes. Any suggestions for me now in this stage of the postop? Let me know any thoughts you all might have. Also, I got the Sweedish band as Dr. Joya said it would do better for me than the Inamed...anyone else have the sweedish?? and is this the same as the VG??? Sorry to sound stupid. Thanks to all. Eric

Hey all I wanted to post a update as I was banded on 12/28/06 by Dr. Joya in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Everything went very very smoothly. I had a great experience there and with the staff. I am not quite a week out and of course on the clear liquid diet for a few more days. It is very wierd to hear my tummy rumble as it's hungry and I take a few sips of Water and that just goes away....kinda cool! :biggrin1: The hardest time for me was my family and I went to my parents for New Years Day and my mom was celebrating Christmas then since she and dad were out of town for Christmas and my mom made her traditional Christmas dinner and Desserts. Imagine everything you love in food on one table and then a whole other table filled with sweets and treats and you get NONE and everyone else is enjoying. That was tough but I made it and didn't touch a single thing!!! :clap2: I'm pretty happy with how things are going and can't wait till this Thursday as I can weigh again since it will be my 3 week marker from when I started the 2week pre-op diet. The lbs are coming off and I am feeling GREAT!!! Just wanted to share. Eric
