Congrats Andy! You really are an inspiration. Do you exercise and/or count calories? I am banded less than a month, so I am looking for advice. Thanks for the motivation, you are doing so awesome!

Baby got back-I stayed an extra night when I got my band, and it was $80US. I have lost 29 pounds so far but have been a little stuck. I have been exercising (just a 1/2 hour on the treadmill everyday) and I can feel I am losing weight again, so I will weigh myself Sunday or Monday. I am glad you are doing well. I saw your before pic on the picture thread and you look stunning already. Hope hubby is being great and that your mother has 'seen the light'! Take Care

What's the worst thing someone said to you?
bandiva replied to annieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You nailed that one Jack. I too have an ex who I wish would have left me at the alter. I have heard a lot of them but I think the worst were from when I was a teenager and younger. My mom used to always say 'why can't you be more like Sharon'...(our neighbor). Well, for the record, Sharon moved out of Canada, never had children (her mom wants grandkids), is incredibly self centered and NEVER visits her aging and unwell mother. Now, I am sure she is glad that I am me, and not more like Sharon... And then there is the old stand by "you could be such a pretty girl" or when people are at my house and see old pictures of me they say 'wow, you were so beautiful, I wouldn't have even recognized you.' Now no one sees old pictures, they are put away. -

I think it is each time, but I might be wrong. I was kinda turned off because they seem to have a stick up their a___ when you tell them you went out of province to have surgery...gee, I wonder why I did that! lol. -
Hi! I just thought I would pop in and see how you are doing!
-
Neenagh, I can see how you wanted 'more'. I feel like when I get my first fill they should do a really really big one cause I have to fly so far...but then again...maybe not! Glad you are feeling better.

Yoda, what ever would we do without you!

Hi Khrissy! Sounds like you are doing really well with your band. Have a wonderful time on your cruise! It will be soooo much fun!

Hi Lila...glad you are doing well. I was worried about you! Just so you know, it is snowing here...but don't feel bad with your tan and all!

Cloe, it is great to get an update on your goings on! I was fortunate in that I didn't bring any crap in the house for Christmas, but my work was a different story....then...I got in my car yesterday and out of the corner of my eye I saw a box of chocolates that someone had given me for Christmas. I had been having a brutal sugar craving for about an hour previous to that so I decided to have one. I had one, bit into it and spit it out! Gross yes, but I am proud of myself. Sounds like you are doing well losing. I have gained a few since going back on solids. I am being more careful now. Kids...what can I say. I wish we could control them forever, or just be able to turn off a switch so that our hearts wouldn't break when they make mistakes.:faint: As for green sheep...I don't know, all I can think of is that they might be moldy.... Keep up the great progress...you are doing awesome!

Ok, now that I have posted, the other posts have appeared. We lost power yesterday, and my computer reset itself to Jan 1, so probably a few things got messed up. It appears I am OK again. Have a break this afternoon, working a split shift, so I am going to watch Young and Restless and go on the treadmill. I had a trukey bun and an lean cuisine for lunch, I feel very stuffed and I don't like that feeling. I ate well yesterday. Thanks for your support everyone, and yes, I am very excited about my fill. We got a ton af snow here today (about 8 inches) and it has been raining for about 3 months, so I am in need of some sunshine. I went to the tanning bed yesterday for 5 minutes just to get some light. I may call the airline and extend my trip by a day (to TJ), so I can enjoy some blue skies (not that I can see them from inside the mall!) Bye for now!

Something is weird with this tread, I can read that people have posted by the message on the main screen , but when I come here, the last message I see is Yoda's.."You are doing GREAT Bandiva....keep up with the exercise....that is part of the equation for sure!" Can anyone else see more messages after that?

Hi Lemonlulu- I had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. He was great and I have no regrets. The cost was $8500 US. I am going down on Jan 21 for my first fill. There is a dr in Vancouver who will do the fills for me, but his cost is $475 plus I have to take the ferry both ways. I got a ticket from Victoria to SanDiego, plus two nights accomodation for $463, so I am returning to TJ for my first fill. It is definately an investment, but I look at it from the point of view that I am purchasing an extension to my life and that keeps it all in perspective. Hope that info helps! -
Hi everyone. I haven't been posting because I haven't had much to say, but I enjoy reading the posts and seeing where everyone is. My scale has been stuck for about 1 1/2 weeks. I made the appointment to get my fill. I am going back to Mexico for it. My fill is Jan 22. I am really looking forward to it. The hardest part for me right now is learning to listen to my body. In the evenings I want to eat out of boredom not hunger, and it is difficult to fight that. So far I am winning the fight, so I am sure the worst will be over soon. Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Victoria.

I just booked my first fill for Jan 22 in TJ. I also booked my flight and hotel so I am ready to go! Yippee.

Well, I didn't lose anything last week. I gained a couple of pounds which I guess is normal when you start eating again. This is a new week. I did 30 min on the treadmill yesterday, and that is my goal for this week, eat well, add exercise. Have a great day everyone!

lovabully-there are threads on here about the dr's in Mexico. I went to Dr. Ortiz and had a great experience. Bexleygal...I have no restriction either, however I experience pain with certian foods. I am phoning tomorrow to see if I can get a fill ASAP. I feel your pain and frustration. I am trying to do as much right as I can with diet and exercise until fill day. Hang in there...we will get through this together! Add to that, I think I have PMS...burst out crying on the treadmill today becuase I was feeling like I did something wrong. I really appreciate the encouraging posts here. Thanksl
