Looking for September 2010 Bandsters
ebonykisses replied to CSinTX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi September Bandster Fam Tomorrow is "The Day" at 11am. I can't wait I have been extremely anxious for weeks maybe months now. I haven't experienced any nervousness yet. I started my liquid diet 9/13/2010 by choice. The doctor only recommended 9/15/2010 until the surgery date. The liquid diet was not at all bad. Maybe because the nutrionist and doctor confirmed it was ok to have fresh raw veggies. so 2 alternating days out of the 10 I had broth and romaine lettuce. This was great. Besides that I have been having the sugar free fat free jello, all the flavors are great, I have been drinking the Unjury protein drink (Vanilla) not bad with Fat Free Lactaid milk. I have been drinking plenty of broth as well. Anyway Today 9/21/2010 is the day before my surgery so I will be doing strictly liquids. I honestly feel great and had no problem with this pre op diet. Although I usually try to fast at least twice out the year, maybe this is why it didnt bother me. Needless to say I cant wait for tomorrow 9/22/2010. Im so very anxious and excited:redface:. LETS GO SEPTEMBER BANDSTERS LETS GO  -

ebonykisses replied to CSinTX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello to all the September Bandsters. I have not been here for a while but I occassionaly check in to read up on how everyone is doing. I have good news to share. The Insurance Company (Cigna) just approved:thumbup: me for surgery on the 22nd. Im really so excited its not even funny. My pre op appointment is on the 20th and my liquid diet begins on the 15th. This is such a blessing for me:rolleyes2:. I' am not nervous at all but very anxious even more anxious for June 2012. Why because that will be almost 2 years after surgery and my birthday is in June. I figure around that time I will have sttled on a steady weight that Im able to maintain and be happy with. I cant wait for the results of this transformation. -
Are You Telling People?
ebonykisses replied to danide's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I started this process in March and I do not want everyone knowing. In fact I just recently told my best friend only because she called me crying about feeling distant and like I was keeping something from her. I love the girl to death so now she knows. I have a new guy in my life as of June and I have not said a word to him, Im not even sure if I should especially since its not exclusive; I kinda dont think its any o fhis business right now. I just recently told my brother and his girlfriend simply because they only associate with each other. I can trust they wont go around blabbing this all around town. I have not told my mother or grandmother none of my immediate family honestly, other than my brother. My kids do not know (they are too young to understand) I just recently told the few people around me (6 people) only because at this point they began asking why was I always running to the doctor or the hospital or why was i all of a sudden seeing a nutritionist. I have no intentions on telling anyone else. and after the surgery when people I ask I will respond honestly and say. Im watching what I eat and have become more active. this will be true because with the surgery I will be doing just that watching what I eat and being sure to work out so I can get the best results from this surgery. -
Why do women have anal sex?
ebonykisses replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Oh Ladies stop it, its not all that bad. LOL The first time I tried it I admit it wasn't even as mentioned in a 1/4 of an inch and I ended up bald up in a corner crying. It was so painful. Word to the wise. Don’t try it with the thick ding dongs they draw blood. Seriously! Now it can be nice. If the guy is average in terms of thickness and patient and you're relaxed it can be quite good. And as mentioned earlier if he knows hoW to play with you at the same time or you all have a rabbit; it can be worth the experience. Please don’t make it a habit (just a suggestion) I dont think its bad but done best with average ding dongs. Make sure the area is clean that’s all, and make sure you have cleansed 24 to 48 hours prior. No mess is best However it is subject to opinion Have fun I think the curiosity on this page is due to someone wanting to try it. wink wink -
What are you most looking forward to after banding?
ebonykisses replied to spoiltmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first son at 18. Prior to that I was a teenage work aholic. Time with friends was minimal and when we did hang out we never went to like the beach or anything. Now I have 2 kids 7 and 3 and we go to the beach and Water parks and everything. With that being said I CANT WAIT TO BE ABLE TO WEAR A BIKIN FOR THE FIRST TIME:redface: Even more so than that I CANT WAIT TO BE COMPLETELY NAKED AND FEEL EXCITED, COMFORTABLE, AND ABSOLUTELY FAB-U-LOUS !!! In front of anyone, yes I said it. that feeling of not caring who sees because you know everything is in the right place (not too much and not too little) -
Did you have to do pre-op diet??
ebonykisses replied to THEMAXWELLFAMILY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would suggest still doing a pre op diet. I was informed that if your BMI is over 42 or 43 (can't remember) that you will need to do a pre op diet for 2 weeks. This is required by my doctor and suggested by the nutritionist. If your BMI is 39-41 you will need one week of pre op dieting. The pre op diet helps to shrink the liver. The surgeoon needs the room to work around/ move around inside you. If the liver is too big or swollen it makes it hard for the surgeon to see and move about while attaching the band to your stomach. I watched a video on this at the doctors office and the nutrition explained this much. If it is not a requirement for your surgeon maybe it will be ok other wise what would be the harm in dieting as a precaution. Hope this helps. Good luck! -

Hi all, my surgery date is scheduled for 9/22/2010 I started my process back in march. My doctor's office had a list of insurance companies and the requirements. Right off the back I was informed they could get the insurance company to approve as long as I took the required steps being the 6 month nutrition classes and see all requested doctors. I really hope this doesn't flop I would hate to have to start over. -
For the women, but Men may answer, please be mature
ebonykisses posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have some what of a private question and maybe it is too personal feel free to respond privately. Anyway for the women in the post op stage can you please tell me how your breast have changed. I am a 44 DD and handle some 42 DDD's. My breast got larger with each of my kids. I'am wondering if after surgery will they go down and when they do will there be excess skin surrounding my breast. Will my breast sag or look droopy, will I need a reduction or lift. Is there an exercise I will be able to do to tighten my breast or the muscle. For the men that have women in their lives, Im curious did your woman's breast feel the same or loose. I'am also curious about the backside after the weight are any of the women experiencing droopy behinds. or loose behinds. Are control panties neccessary or girdles ? I know some people that have had the surgery and did no exercising they look great on the outside looking in but their skin feels weak or flimsy kind of like its melting or sinking in. Is this normal? and no one wants to talk about how this surgery may or may not effect certain body parts and intimacy. Im not worried but very curious. -

:cool2: your response is funny but true. My question is are they still full, are they real to begin with, do they still sit nicely or better? Are they flabby like?? I happen to be a big girl thats pleasantly plumped and beautiful, this surgery is because I have developed 3 lipomas )fatty tumors, non cancerous) that are suppose to dissolve with the weight loss. Oh yea give this to DH :blushing: -
I started at 249 in march and am down to 241. My surgery is scheduled 9/22/2010. I would lik eto know on average how much weight do you lose within the first month of being banded. How much can you expect to lose month to month there after. I' am aware for each person the amount of weight varies but I'm just looking for an estimate, something to look forward to possibly. Thank You

How much do you lose
ebonykisses replied to ebonykisses's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely I already do a beginners spinning class. I noticed in the package it mentions swimming and lots of it. I figured I coul dstart off slow with a water aerobics class then inch my way up to swimming. However I'am unaware when I'am able to participate in such a class. As you said it may be well after 4 weeks of surgery. I will ask that question prior to surgery. Thanks -

Thanks Bam I appreciate your response. How soon after the surgery did you start your weight training. I'am a single mom and I plan to take some time off from work after the surgery. In that time Id like to be walking and start some water aerobics. I figure by the 2nd week of post op surgery I should be ready to roll as normal. what do you think? -
You look amazing!!!!!! I am wondering did you have any additional surgeries after the band. lik etummy tuck, or body lift. either way you still look amazing. If you dont mind, what was your starting weight and what is your weight now and after how many years? Thank You
