It's hard to admit when you need help for your weight management. Losing 25 pounds in 8-10 weeks is great, but how many times do I have to keep losing that same 25 lbs? I gave up. Then all kinds of goofy medical things started happening. High blood pressure that was hard to regulate. Cholesterol levels up and down. Not sleeping like I should. All of that got my attention. I had to get some help. I looked into what options I had. My wife and I went to a seminar at Park Nicolet Bariatric Clinic in late February. I (we) decided that this lap band procedure was what I was going to do. My health insurance is with HealthPartners and they have a great program to put you through to make sure that I knew what needed to change and understand about this life changing operation. I can't say enough good things about HealthPartners and the program at Park Nicolet Bariatric Clinic. I had dietician appointments, physical activity appointments, heart stress appointments and a psychological exam. I even had a sleep study done. The surgery was just like they said it would be in the seminar. No surprises. So far I'm happy, my blood pressure is down, I can see my feet again. I knew they were there I just forgot how cute they were! So that's about it for now. Sept. 1st is my first adjustment.
