    Dr. Dirk Rodriguez Dallas

You will LOVE him AND his entire staff! They're awesome!
  5. Thanks Molly for the reply. How severe is your bruising? I would have to say my bruising is about 4-6'', in diameter, around my belly biutton and it is a DEEP purple almost black in color. Is that pretty much what you are experiencing?

    Dr. Dirk Rodriguez Dallas

Dr. Rodriguez did my surgery on 07/27/2010. I think he's the best of the best. He is truly "pro patient" and very compassionate, as well as a highly skilled surgeon. Would highly recommend him.
  7. Thanks for your reply. I never really thought about how much work had to be done in such a small area. That makes good sense that the bruising would be more intense. I just dont see how this bruising could be normal 2 weeks post op. My surgeon is out of town but I will get into him as soon as he returns. Ive really had no pain at all until the past couple of days. Now, ive just got stinging at the incision site. Thats whaat made me think an infection could be developing. HAs anyone, here, had any problems with infection post surgery? Im sure everything is fine. Its just over reaction on my part.
  8. So sorry to have bothered you. Im new, here, and had not seen any of your prior posts on single incision surgery.
  9. Hi Everyone I had my sugery on July 27th so Im about 11 days post op. My bruising is just awful! All around my belly button(this is where my incision is) is a very very dark blue, almost even black. The bruising just seems to be so deep. Also, my incision still really stings. Im certainly aware of it when I turn and extend my arms. I have a single incision thats in my belly button. Has anyone else had bruising, and still had incision pain, this bad 11 days after their procedure? Any replies would sure be appreciated. Thanks!

    Feeling TOO good???

Laylas Grandma: You might try Benedryl creme for the itching. Also, Mederma is great for reducing any scarring. How many incisions do you have? I just have one incision and its in my belly button. You cant see a thing! I was thrilled with my surgeon!

    Feeling TOO good???

Laylas Grandma: Try to keep some protein powder on hand. Ive got some chocolate flavored power, that I got at my Dr's office, that is actually pretty good. Its a great "quick fix" if you get hungry...☺

    Feeling TOO good???

Hey Bodybug: Dr. Rodriquez was my surgeon. He is awesome! I cant even SEE my incision! It's in my belly button. He did a great job. Are you hungry? Im not really, so much, hungry anymore. I just feel as if I could eat anything I want. Im JUST starting to be able to fill up off of a very small amount of food. The first few days after surgery, I couldn't even tell i that I had a band. T..he Dr. must not have put any fill in it. Maybe I'll see a bigger difference when I have my first fill. Hope so...

    Feeling TOO good???

Thanks for all the replies! Quilterlu: Im sorry you had so much trouble with pain after your surgery, but your weight loss is awesome! You must be so excited! Where do you buy your ISOPURE?
  14. Hi Everyone I just had my surgery last Tuesday 07/27/2010. Im so lucky to be able to say this, but Ive not had ONE problem. No pain, no gas, no hunger. Nothing. I really dont even feel as if Ive been banded. Im not hungry, although, I do want "graze". This has been my life long battle: the "grazing". So, my problem is that I feel so good I feel as if I can eat anything all throughout the day. Im not over eating, by any means, but I think Im probably eating more than a typical newly banded patient should be. There really is no sign telling me that Im eating too much. I dont feel as if Ive been banded at all. So, my question is this: Is it possible that the band could have slipped already? HAs anyone else felt as if they weren't banded? I guess I just dont know what I should be feeling like. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Good luck to you all!
