I have struggled with weight most of my adult life. However, when I had my last child at 35 years old I found it the most difficult time to lose the weight. For the past 14 years I have tried many many different plans, diets, drugs and institutions. I would lose the weight and gain it back plus. When my back started to give me problems a year ago and it hindered me from my daily activities with my family, etc., I needed to either have back surgery to correct the problem or lose weight and hope that my back would heal itself. Since I was having to pay out of pocket for either surgery I decided to go with the lapband. It was obviously less cost and not as invasive and recovery would be much less as well. I have had my surgery 3-1/2 weeks ago and I am just starting out in learning portion control, triggers that cause me to eat the wrong foods, etc. I am placing a lot of hope on to this surgery to assist me in overcoming the pitfalls that cause me to over eat or make bad choices.
