    Constant Vomiting

Not sure if I am replying to the same thread, but I will be going to my second seminar Saturday. This time I am taking my brother...Husband knows.....just thought I'd try to involve the other closer memember of my family. I understand this is going to be a very dramtic change in my life..... I keep going back and forth, should I, or shouldn't I.....I am scared...I have been a junk food junky the last 27 years of my life and I don't like salads and good foods. Do you all think I am still on the right track for doing this? I have had both knees replaced and I fear that if I don't stick to it, that surgery will be for nothing. Any, I mean Any talk will be of help. Jackie,45 and almost to 300 pounds, esecially after the holidays. Thanks!
  2. Hi folks, I am very nervous and it looks like it will be at least another month or 2 before my surgery. I am hoping I can do it. I intend on doing it at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. I am going for the lapband. Any advice or experience you have to share I am fully interested. Thanks so much, Jackie:decision: :email: jackie_plumlee@hotmail.com
  3. Well, I will be going to another seminar December 19th at Centennial. My brother is going with me this time. Husband went last time. I figure this time I will have a better idea of exactly who will do the surgery and when the groups meet. It's a 2 hour drive for me to Nashville but I figure I will need the nutrition classes and the moral support too. Any reason in particular you didn't have your band done at Nashville Sherijo? I have started doing away with soft drinks and have taken to Crystal Light. I am hoping if I start giving up some of these things a bit at a time it won't be such sudden shock when the time comes. I know I will be eating less and of course the junk foods. I was told Pasta wouldn't be good idea to eat because it can cause upsets. That is the one thing I will miss. Also do you suggest blender or what? I know I will be on liquids for a while..but I can't imagine eating baby food in the type of peas and beans....without the season or salt, pureed yea but not like the pure liquid yams and all, what did you all do? How did you manage?
  4. Just wanted yall to know I appreciate your imput and reply. I am very sincere when I say this. I have belonged to a disablity forum online now for about 8 years with folks having all sorts of disabilites. But I had to get in with some folks that have been thru this sort of deal. My biggest fear is, How will I change my eating habits. I know I will be forced to do this once banded...giving up soda, sweets, etc... The first seminar I went to pretty much told me what I'd have to give up the rest of my life, which are things that I am certain are not good for me anyway. I figure I will have to take up something else instead of eating for comfort at times as I have been known to do. Again, thanks for the replies and I intend on reading all that I can. 2 years ago I had to have bilateral knee replacements due to a car accident I had 27 years ago and that went splendid. Of course I was given the option of a wheel chair or the surgery and well, I just couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life in a wheel chair. The same with this surgery. I have highblood pressure, terrible arthritis, face hands, hips, ankles, my BMI is about 46 or 48 depending on which chart you look at it,you name it...and I am praying that by doing this "change of life" surgery I can get off a lot of medication I have had to take. Sincerely, Jackie I really appreciate your posts and will look forward to reading more!
