    No apetite

I would definitely talk to your surgeon if you're almost 6 months out. Perhaps he/she will have you do a barium swallow or endoscopy to make sure your anatomy is ok.
  2. I am excited for you. Don't worry about cutting your stomach off hehe. You'll still have enough to enjoy eating. I watched a couple of videos on how the sleeve was performed, and it's very straight forward. It's even safer than Gallbladder surgery from what I heard. Keep us posted as you go through your journey. Feel free to message me or post here if you have any other questions. ^^

    Vitamin Patches- Do they work?

I tried them for a month, and just yesterday I bought 3 months worth lol. Darn this thread .
  4. 1) No, I kept the majority of the weight I lost off. I think I gained about a fourth of what I lost in total. The first 3 or 4 days after the unfill, I gained 17 lbs of just Water alone. Bleh. My average calories was similar to what it's been it's for 7 years (~1200 to 1500 calories). I was told this was normal due to being malnourished and dehydrated by having a too tight band for too long. 2) I had the band removal to sleeve in one step surgery. I was still in onederland when they suggested that I get a revision. They unfilled me that day. I remained unfilled for several months to let my esophagus and stomach rest before the surgery, which was done as an outpatient. (Easy recovery, btw) 3) Not much lost during 3 weeks pre-op, for the same reason I gained some of my weight back. My body was still adjusting and hung onto everything. Even on 800 cal pre-op, my body wouldn't budge! grrrr 4) 11 weeks post op revision: 36 lbs. lost

    5 month mark

So happy and excited for you and your amazing progress! Thank you for sharing your pics.
  6. Must be a relatively new policy for them.
  7. When I was living in NY last year, I wanted my band adjusted when I got to Texas, and they wouldn't make an appointment for me or anything because I was out of state, let alone a revision.
  8. I had something similar to that in my first week or so. My surgeon gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer and told me it was common to have muscle spams once and awhile for the first few weeks post-op and to take it if needed.

    Recommended calorie intake

My average for the first week was ~400 calories. My surgeon was adamant to get the calories up to 800 as soon as possible. It was never recommended to keep near that range, especially for 3 months straight as you suggested. If one stayed that low, they would be begging for gallstones and serious health problems. I'm not trying to be combative, but am concerned that someone might take your suggestion seriously so I am also stepping up to oppose this for the many readers on this thread.

    Recommended calorie intake

The general consensus is make sure you get all your Protein and Water in the liquid and mushies stages. Every program is different so it's good to see what your surgeon suggests. My surgeon wanted me to focus on protein and water during the early stages, and didn't mention calories or carbs until week 5 when I moved to solids. At that point she said 800-1200 calories, 60g protein (my typical protein is 60-90g/day).

    Straws

I started straws a couple of days ago when I saw the general consensus here from the vets (although I always use one at restaurants). No issues. A slushy is another thing altogether. Empty calories, especially liquid empty calories, are the most dangerous to any WLS. Downright evil lol. Years ago, I had a mocha coffee addiction. I'm a recovering mocha coffee addict. 13. Other than the first day, my recovery has been easy. I could drink 64 oz water/day without any pain or problems, my Protein shakes, Soups go down with no problems. I'm on day 8. I feel almost like I didn't have surgery. I was wondering if my recovery is much easier than others because I had the band for many years (since 2009). If you had the band to sleeve revision, was your recovery easy or difficult? Thanks in advance!
  14. That's awesome . Yeah, my incisions were super itchy too! I put that Neosporin on that had anti-itch in it as well. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    2 1/2 post-op update.

I think you're doing great. That's about 10 lbs a month, over a 100 lbs in a year. Congratz on your surgery, wishing you continued success .

    Smoking

They used the cotinine test for me (urine test). Added: Can buy testing strips on Amazon so you can see how long it takes before you test negative.

    How do I know...

If you can, please see your doctor. I was told of all the symptoms, fever is the one symptom to contact them right away especially if it's coupled with any type of pain. Feel better soon!
  19. One other complication is gallstones, but that isn't just the sleeve but anyone who loses weight fast, typically a vlcd of 800 cal. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    Starbucks

I was allowed coffee throughout the entire process. Thank goodness. I think my metabolism would've died if I ever stopped it hehe. Not a Starbucks fan though. One of the biggest changes in my diet that helped me was kicking mocha coffee with lots of calories. I think I overdosed on it back in the day hehe. I like my coffee with a little cream and can't drink coffee that is remotely sweet anymore. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    Goal weight achieved!

Congratz! Nope, noone ever told me I was losing too fast because I don't hehe. I'm the turtle in the race of weight loss . The majority of people hasn't really commented throughout the years if they see me day by day. I think the only ones are people I haven't seen in years. ^^ Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    Calories

As long as you're meeting your Protein and Water goals, you'll be fine. Things that one eats during the pureed phase, you'll rarely eat once you get to normal foods. For example, 3 oz dense protein... Complete satisfaction, low calorie- high protein combination. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

    Asthma

It went as normal. They had me take a puff of my inhaler before I went in.
