  1. My regular add-ins (depending upon my mood) are the following: unsweetened dark cocoa (or cacao powder if I have it), PB2 (but not if your allergic to peanuts, obviously hehe), flaxseed or chia seeds for Fiber, 1/2 small frozen banana, 1/2c frozen blueberries, instant coffee. During my liquid phase, I did add a few drops of Frontier Banana flavoring instead of a real banana (For the low carbers out there, this is the most awesome banana flavor, by the way).
  2. I second the cocoa powder and stevia. I always put a tablespoon of unsweetened special dark cocoa powder in my shakes . It's so high in antioxidants and so good for us.

    September Sleevers!

@@migalo Two awesome days for me were the days I was allowed pureed (freedom!!) and the day I was cleared for any type of food with no restrictions (Day 39 for me). Congratz!!

    ABNORMAL EKG

I didn't have an abnormal EKG, in fact I passed my bicycle stress test... etc. and they STILL asked me to see a cardiologist. I had to retake a stress test but it had to be a nuclear stress test with images. I think it's common, and you should be fine. It's better to find out if you have any heart problems before surgery anyway so you can be sure to make it through surgery and enjoy a wonderful life afterwards.

    Dried fruit?

My avoid list consists of chips, cake, cookies, soda pop, fried foods... Etc. Dried fruits aren't bad per se, but maybe go to Trader Joes or a health food store to find some that do not have any preservatives nor sugar added. Fruits have important nutrients that aren't listed in the "common" vitamins/minerals list that are vital for health and maintenance such as antioxidants... Etc. It's better to eat fresh fruit vs dried, but I'm sure you already know that.
  6. My surgeon wanted me to take the bandages off after day 2 or 3 to let it air out. I also applied Neosporin ointment (they now have an anti-itch, anti-scar ointment.

    Hunger

I do. The most I can do is make sure I take my PPI twice a day, and drink lots of water to keep satisfied. Once and awhile, I'll take an otc chewable antacid during those times, and I find that helps.

    Gas-x, should I use it?

Absolutely. I used it for both my lapband surgery and revision surgery. It's was a lifesaver for me.

    Black poop

I'd call first thing in the morning too. If by chance you get other symptoms of internal bleeding like severe abdominal pain, numbness or pain in your leg(s), dizziness, bruising all over, then please please go to the ER and do not wait.
  11. I average 850 cal/day. I try to hit above 800 because I'm trying to avoid gallstones (~23% are at risk of gallstones after WLS surgery). I hope you can get a hold of your NUT since we all have different programs. One thing that is across the board is our main focus is on protein & water intake especially in the earlier weeks.
  12. @@Mnicole Pretty much, so just follow your surgeon's instructions. ^^ Yesterday was my day 39, and I was cleared for anything. I have heard many on here who said they weren't allowed certain foods for 3 months, 5 months...etc. :(

    September Sleevers!

Just an update to my fellow September sleevers. Today I'm post op day 39, and had my follow up appointment #2. I got the clearance to eat anything I want, no restrictions. Yay. I'm currently eating a balanced diet ~600-800 calories, moderate carbs ~50g. I was told I am healed & can't hurt my sleeve at this point, and that even if I get sick (which I haven't) or pressure in the back of my throat, I can't hurt my sleeve. I got the usual reminder to eat Protein first, and always eat some protein during my Snacks as well. Example, cheese with my watermelon. Hmm, what else? Oh, my incisions are completely healed, I'm using Mederma advanced on them, once a day. No clue if that's a good product or not. Hope all is well with you. ~Sai
  14. I think it would be nice to have it done at the same time. The recovery is a little bit more difficult than the lap band. Some have it easy (I felt good from day 3) and others have a very difficult time. If you do it together, then your post-op diet will be the same which is really nice. Post-op diets for sleeve (depending on doctor) last a lot longer than the post-op diet for the band.

    September Sleevers!

I so hear you! I have family members who I do not see eye to eye with concerning politics. I'm really into politics, and I'm glad that I had my revision because I'm here a lot during my free time instead of Twitter. Lol good girl for not eating over it . 16. @@De6270 oooh, if you like pizza, try cauliflower pizza. I'm so addicted to that recipe. I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd link you to recipe but there are lots of them. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
  17. Every day I either have some chia seeds or flaxseed in my Protein shakes/smoothies. They have a ton of antioxidants, Fiber, protein, rich in Omega-3, and also have zinc, Calcium, magnesium. Net carb is 1g per ounce. So tiny but literally packed with nutrition. That is why they are classified a super food. They are so versatile with very little taste so you can add them to just about anything. Enjoy Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
  18. They should have in the type of surgery option "Revision" because it looks weird to say you lost over 100 lbs. and you just had surgery a month ago.

There's another wrinkle or layer to the stats section. Some people actually lose oodles of weight before having any surgery. Often they're people who started at 400+.

@proudgrammy hehe this time I was just looking at one of my posts today, and thought, that really looks odd. :) ty ^^

@WLSResources/ClothingExch So very true, like during pre-op diets. Some of those people are so amazing to lose so much weight on their own. I struggled big time :P:)

    Lower stomach cramps

Couldn't tell you why you're having severe stomach cramps but I was prescribed Hyoscyamine for any muscle spasms. I can take it only when needed, and it helps far better than any pain killer.
  21. Good article to compare pros and cons of each. http://www.obesitycoverage.com/gastric-bypass-vs-gastric-sleeve-surgery/
  22. I held onto my water weight (from IV, diet changes... Etc.) for 10 days. I do have a history of edema though.
  23. Have you tried different sources of Protein? For example, perhaps plant based protein will be more agreeable with your system right now. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
  24. Congratz on a key moment for you. Sitting at a booth without spilling all over the table and sitting in an airplane seat without worry of offending a stranger sitting by me were key moments for me too. Thank you for sharing it.

    Coffee = Stall?

I wouldn't think caffeine has anything to do with that since you are getting enough water, and caffeine actually boosts metabolism and help you burn fat (lipolysis). I know stalls are annoying though.
