That is downright horrible! I can't believe she would lie to you like that. Talk about sabatoge! You have a physical and mental investment into what you are doing and she and everyone else in this world should support that!

oh my, I hate to be posting this but I am just can't believe I haven't been losing weight. After my original 16 lbs, poof nothing. It has been several weeks and the scale seems to have me losing and gaining the same 3 lbs over and over again. I know I can't be eating enough to gain weight. Certainly not 3-4 lbs in a day or two! I just really don't get it. I go for my fill on 1/11. Perhaps things will change then. Okay, thanks for the vent.

We have 4 dogs or our own! 3 Labs/retrievers and a lhasa. I can't imagine 14!

Welcome! We're a bit slow on posting right now due to the holidays but I think you will benefit greatly by joining. It has helped me. It is interesting to see how everyone is different and how actually everyones doctor and doctors plan is so different.

Hey, we were banded the same day! I get my first fill on 1/11. I started at 255 and am down to 239. We have the same results. What a coinkydink!

I was told that the carbonation expands the pouch. Beer or any other carbonation would have the same affect.
-
Why are you worried and why do you think it slipped?
-
Yes, I can eat anything. I get my first fill on 1/11. I do feel a lot fuller on a lot less food but I could keep going if I wanted to. The band iteslf does not limit me, I do. The doctor said this is normal and that it will change after the fill.

I was on a diet for two weeks prior to surgery. I was to have two protein shakes a day and a dinner consisting of a protein and a vegitable ONLY. It was hell but I have to be honest it mentally prepares you better for after the surgery. It was hard to do but I think it would have been more dramatic to eat normally, have the surgery and then be reduced to liquids. Once I got to mushies I was psyched! I didn't need to go through all that sugar withdrawal & stuff and deal with the loss of food issue after surgery. I already had it covered and knew what to expect.

I cried all the way onto the operating table! As soon as I woke up I was like, okay, it's done and I'm glad I did it! It's been better then I ever dreamed! I was scared of the life change, scared of the money (had to pay for it out of pocket), scared of the surgery, scared of the recovery. Need I go on? I think it is normal. It is a life change and a surgery to boot. You would be worried even if you were getting your tonsils out! In any case. I think it is perfectly normal and I think once you come out on the other side you will be glad you did it! Good luck!

I weigh myself twice a day. I am bit of an addict. Well, twice a day religiously and then any other time I happen to pass by the scale! It's bad!
-
Have you mentioned this to your doctor? I mean are you in close communication with him? What does he say. I gained 2-3 lbs after starting soft foods too and have now finally after about 2-3 weeks taken that off. I'd call him and see what they say! Cheer up. Im sure it will work!

Where is everyone? Gosh, I would think we would have soooo much to say! Well I guess we are busy through the holidays! Hey, didn't someone here mention the muscle milk? Wow, It is great! Visit their website, call them and ask for samples. They are sending me every flavor of their ready to drink drinks and protein stuff. I tell you it's like drinking a milkshake! www.champbev.com. I have a number if you can't find it. But really nice of them. :clap2:

Well I used to drink a 12 oz - 20 oz drink with each meal. Now I just have to sip a little. Can't not drink at all. Need to wash the food and tastes away! I gave up soda and I was addicted to even the sound of an opening can of diet Pepsi! So, I sip.

Hey I thought this might be good. Well the dish itself is GREAT! I imagine you can use splenda instead of Sugar. It is FANTASTIC! Great for the whole mushies thing! I mean awesome! Let me know if any of you try it! It is sweet and healthy, go figure! :hungry: :clap2: http://www.copykat.com/index.php?option=com_rapidrecipe&page=viewrecipe&recipe_id=931&Itemid=28

OOOh, I finally have a ticker. I had my 2 week follow up. The doc seemed please. HE said I would start losing more weight after my fill which is scheduled for 1/11. I can't believe how much less I eat these days tho it was concerning that I still make some really bad choices. Still sneak a sweet every now and then. I had a holiday party that I did okay. I ate more then I thought I should or could but it was like snacking for 3 hours.....The holidays are tough! It looks like everyone is doing well. Yes, chicken breast is no good. Feels like I am trying to swallow a gold ball! It is amazing, when you are full you are full. I was having some difficulty swallowing something so I thought some water would work. HA! I had a blockage topped by water! Happy Holidays to all!

So when some of you say you can't eat certain foods, what happens? Is it immediate like the fur ball thing or do you get upset stomachs later? I'm not sure what to look for with disagreeing foods.....
-
Oh my goodness YES! I was banded on 11/29 also. My last weigh in was at 255 at the drs. office. I did liquid diet for 1 week. My last weight was 260. One week after surgery I went down to 238. I went up to 244, now back down to 242. Now, I can't figure out HOW I COULD GAIN WEIGHT???????
-
I did liquids for a week then mushies for like 2 days then went into soft foods. I haven't had a problem eating anything solid. I obviously didn't follow instructions to the t but my doc said if I can tolerate the food then go ahead. I have an appointment on Thursday and I think I will get a fill then. I hope so, hoestly I eat a lot less but I could keep going.....
-
Hey have you guys checked out the before and after pics link? WOW! There's some inspiration!

My surgeon told me that those numbers are insuarance company statistics as to what person at what height would weigh to live the longest. Not look the best or be the healthiest per se. Just live the longest. And that could mean 1 day.

AWESOME! Lost weight, feel better, no meds. What else could you ask for!

Question? What are everyones expectations here? From what I am hearing a lot of us are upset at only losing 15-20 lbs in a month. I am exstatic and didn't expect to lose that much so fast and am greatful I did. I only expect to lose about 2 lbs a week. Some weeks less, some more. I figure that is over 100 lbs in a year. I also know that a lot of this depends on me. The more I excercise and watch what I eat, the more I will lose. So I am just cruious what everyone else is thinking.

Here it is, a poop question. Haven't seen one of these yet. Here's the situation. I did a bowel prep on Tuesday the 28th. Since then no poop! Is it because Im not eating solids? Any of you have this problem?
