I have just registered and can not for the life of me figure out how to add pictures, a weight scale, post or anything else. Can someone direct me on instructions on how to add things to my profile? Thanks

Milk products have alot more fat in your diet. Remember the trick is 120grams of protein a day, Keep your carbs anywhere below the protein level, Low sugar (labels should be single digits and fats should be single digits) Calculate for the whole day, not just one meal. I also have 3 vactiv chewables (chocolate) for calcium and 1 chewable multi-vitamins.

Hey KayDotRN - Try to find the book Eating for Life by Bill Phillips, it is a great book with receipes, grocery list and I have made most of the receipes and they are great. Really teaches you that to lose weight you have to eat all the time. My doctor gave me the book and I started it on Oct 24th and lost 6 pounds by my surgery date. It works.

I would stay away from the protein shakes with milk in them. The American Whey protein powder(GNC or any health store) is great. Two scoops in a cold 16oz bottle of cold water. Taste like a yohoo. I bought a very small food processor and used it for cottage cheese, and puree food. Not sure about the bullet, just know that blenders and such make air in your food and air makes gas. Soups should be low sodium and reduced fat. Campbells health choice is a good one. Good luck

Sorry, the name of the book is Eating for Life, by Bill Phillips. www.eatingforlife.com It is a wonderful book and has been so great. I encourage everyone to get it and read it and use the receipes in the back. I have tried most all of the receipes and they are all great. My eating plan is based on this book which was given to me by my doctor. My doctor encourages 120grams of Protein a day. I eat 3 meals a day. 7:30am Breakfast, 10am Protein shake, 12:30 lunch, 2:30 pure Protein Bar - Sams' Club, 6pm dinner and 8:30 snack. All from the book. Good Luck

I had my surgery on November 15, 2006, however, I had lost 6 lbs two weeks before eating from the book "Body for Life" that my doctor gave me. It was alot of food and tasted great and really wasn't any different than I had been cooking before just used different substitutions. It has grocery list, meals. It is great.

My doctor had me on a liquid diet one week before. They gave me a patch to put on my neck the night before for nausea. My surgery was at 7:30am and I was home by 1pm. Yes you will have gas pains, get up and walk as soon as you can and let it out. Don't be embarrassed to let it go. In the hospital, home or whereever. You will feel so much better. The gas pains passed by the 4th day. I still have gas but it doesn't hurt. I didn't take anything for gas. I did have liquid oxycodone for pain and did use it. Lot of swelling in the abdominal area. I slept on the couch for a few nights because the bed was to hard and it was hard to lay flat. Good luck tommarrow.

Hey guys, I went to my doctor after 1 week from my surgery date. My doctor told me not to get discouraged if I don't loss any weight from the 7th through the 14th day after my surgery. He said it is normal. He said that I have won the weight loss game if I don't gain any weight. The body will fight to get back to the weight it was before the surgery because the weight loss was so fast and basically only due to barely eating. Your body also takes time to readjust itself. So, don't get discouraged. If you aren't gaining you are a winner.

Are you eating high protein foods? I have found that 120g of protein a day and eating every two hours eliminates my hunger pains and I stay away from sugar. What foods where you eating before your trip?
