Hi, my name is Kathy, and I am a severely obese middle-aged woman who has been overweight since childhood.  I am nervous about the prospect of being banded, but excited that I may be on the verge of a new life.  I have an educational session to attend tonight and am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow.  I have been thinking about this surgery for a long time now and have come to the point where I'm really ready to start eating to live rather than living to eat.  I think this forum is fabulous because it really helps to hear what other people are going through as well as share your own thoughts and experiences.
