I originally reviewed Lapband as an option in 2005 (it wasn't covered by my insurance), then again in 2007 but instead I decided to spend $5,000 on a personal trainer. I worked out between 1.5-3 hours daily and restricted my intake to 1,200-1,500 calories. I lost a total of 1.5 lbs over those 9 months. I gained a fair amount of muscle, but my body composition didn't change enough. Now in 2010, after being on a controlled 1,200 calorie diet and 30 minutes of exercise 3x a week (restricted due to injuries from car accidents) I've lost nothing. I've actually gained.Since 2006 I have lost a total of 6 lbs. Despite many efforts.I happened to look into Lapband again recently and found out that my insurance covers the surgery 100% if the reason is 'morbid obesity'. At this point I believe that is the case, despite prefering otherwise.I'm currently in the evaluation phase.--
