    Any Bandsters from Louisiana?

:drool:Dr. Richardson performed my surgery on 7/22/10. I did not meet him until 2 days prior to surgery and was alittle nervous. He was professional and to the point. I am used to getting to know my physicians and this was different. I did not see him after surgery because a resident did rounds the evening after surgery and this next morning before I was discharged. The resident was professional and yet friendly. The first night after surgery I had alot of pain. The nurses were wonderful and took very good care of me. I went today for my 2 week follow up and was seen by Amber, who is wonderful. I also saw Laura for my dietary guidelines and she is always so terrific. I adore her. I've been meeting with Laura for seven months and she has taught me so much. Well I lost 10 lbs since surgery and can now start progressing to soft foods. YUM !! Lots of luck !!

    Severe stomach pain /spasms

Thanks for your help. I was alittle confused with the post -op diet. I did resume a liquid diet and feel better. However, I was very concerned with possibly doing damage to the band or my stomach. I just needed to hear someone else to reassure me I did not do permanent damage. Thanks so much for your help.
  7. I am one week post op and feel like a fool having to ask this question. I ate a few forkfuls of chicken salad. I immediately developed abdominal pain and severe spasms with right shoulder and chest pain. I know I ate too fast and thought to drink sips of water. After drinking the water and laying down for an hour the pain was relieved. I still feel really full and will not be doing this again. Although I am feeling better I am worried that I possibly caused damage to the lapbad or stitches from the severe spasms. Has anyone else had this happen ?
  8. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the kind words! Please, if there are any questions you have or if you need any support during this crazy time, please feel free to reach out! 7 months from now, you will be looking through YOUR successful progress pics and inspiring others too, I promise :-)!
