    August Rush in bandland!

One week post op and 17 pounds down overall! Yeah! I am so impatient though. All I want is to be under 200 and like now! I'm thinking it will take about 6-8 weeks if I'm really working this thing. That's a week or two after my birthday. Just so ready to get there! I should just be happy with the current successs but can't help stating at my size 14s in the closet!
  2. Six days out and nor hungry yet. Feeling much more human today. Yesterday I was getting there but today has been great so far.

    August Rush in bandland!

I have been so happy not being hungry! I don't want to go to bandster hell! I have three weeks of post op liquids before I even get mushies. The first week hasn't been bad but you girls are making me afraid for the next two weeks!

    August Rush in bandland!

The protein bullets are at Target (I think Costco too). They look like a giant testtube and they are in the protein drink/vitamins area by the pharmacy. Target just has grape. They are 100 calories and 3 oz. They have 25 g of protein in them. Super sweet but I've heard some people put them in a glass of ice cubes and water and turn it into a drink to cut sweetness. I don't. I just down them. They kill the hunger pains and get the protein in. At Target they are $2.50. Hope this helps!

    August Rush in bandland!

No diarrhea. I think I am very lethargic though because I am not intaking much right now. I think I have on average about 500 calories a day. Maybe less. I get in all the protein through muscle milks and power plus shots. I just wish I wasn't this sore. I think it surprises me but I have to remember it's been a good 14 years since my last c-section and I was a good deal younger then when I had surgery! This old body is just taking its time! You may want to check with your doc about the diarrhea tomorrow. You don't want to become dehydrated. That would be the thing to watch out for. Take care Diane!

    August Rush in bandland!

I'm four days post op and have had some of the same issues as Angera. Lots of terrible gas pain...although 90% subsided at this point. I say this with a heating pad on my left shoulder :cursing: I haven't gotten out much. I did try to go pick up some pants at the mall yesterday that were being tailored and then drove in the car with my husband (he drove) to see some property about 20 miles away. That was it. I was wiped. I came home and slept two hours. Then watched a movie and then right back to bed. Ended up taking vicodin later when I started to hurt. today I'm not pushing it. It's about recovery at this point, right? I would like to get out and walk but it's hotter than hell here and I'm pretty low on energy. Started my vitamins today and am hoping that will help.

    August rush 2010!!!

Let me just drop in here and say that I am now 4 days post op and I was just as stressed and anxious and completely nuts over this surgery too. I am NOW so glad to have done it and now it's over and I can move on with the next part! There is life on the other side and it's so much better!!! Hang in there!

    August rush 2010!!!

Good for you msdv! I don't want you mistreated and it sounds like you aren't going to let that happen!!!
  9. Rocketray...I totally agree...with everything You need the heating pad...it's so great when you are not used to sleeping or sitting certain ways or for long periods of time. The pain meds keep you relaxed and healing and why torture yourself? Today was my first day postop when I felt like I might not need them. Take care of yourself, sleep and don't push it. This is the healing time.

    August rush 2010!!!

I worry about those who are having trouble with their doctors' staffs. These people are providing you with a service and you are paying their bills. Don't allow them to treat you this way. Have a conversation with the doctor (their employer). Guaranteed you won't be the first complaint but the doctor needs to know so that he can log it and hopefully get rid of those who are not supportive of his patients. I guess, I would just want to know if my staff was treating my patients that way. In the end, part of my own mental outlook in the past has been to just go with it and tolerate...I think this is indicative of many overweight people. We don't have to tolerate anything. It's our body, our money (via our health ins or self pay) and it's our choice whether we use whomever we use. Just my two cents! I don't like hearing that any of my fellow banders are being abused!

    August Rush in bandland!

The only port pain I have is from the larger incision. The port seems fine. I feel it pull now and then and then I remember to slow down. I'm feeling less of a dependency on the Vicodin today. Maybe I will be able to wean off by tomorrow...

    August Rush in bandland!

Oh I know what it was! I haven't weighed at all because I didn't want to be discouraged with surgery gains and I figure it will level out by next week so I am trying to wait till then...

    August Rush in bandland!

Lap2Fab, I can feel it going down in the morning, especially. It's tighter then and I just sip a little lukewarm coffee. Coffee addict here! Then I have one of those 3 oz Protein Plus whey tubes from Target to get in the protein and that's it for the am. Then I have a Muscle Milk for lunch. I can get it all down but am definitely full by the time it's done. I'll probably have a popsicle soon and then another Protein shake for dinner, or tube if I'm not shaky. I don't ever feel hungry, but I do get shaky which tells me I need to eat. I'm digging this no hunger thing. It's a relief. I know it's short lived but I love it! There was something else you asked but I can't remember....hope this helps!

Can you feel your stomach and your band?

When I drank part of a protein shake this morning, I definitley knew when to stop. I could feel it. Weird.

It's good to hear your experience since I was delayed and in pain as well. It's just good to hear someone else felt that way too. Maybe it was an 8/11 thing:tt2: Anyways, glad to hear you are out and doing better! The best is yet to come!

What did you wear surgery day?

I had sweats and a sportsbra. I wore them in and I wore them out with flip flops!

Good Kurby, you will be glad you did! Diane, congrats my friend! Funny, gas pain is the only thing keeping me up too. The incisions are nothing but the gas sucks! I just keep moving and working with the GasX... Let us know how you are doing when you can!
