Flintstone Vitamins Complete
craigmorganfan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am wondering if taking Flintstone Vitamins would be okay post lapband surgery? I had my procedure on July 22, 2010 and the Caltrate and One A Day Vitamins were making me feel very yuck,,,so I quit taking them a few months ago... I figured that even though the Flintstone Vitamins are for kids,,,that at least I'd be taking something...it does say on the box that adults can take 1 a day,,,but,,,I don't know if that's enough or if I should take 2 a day? Thanks! -
Since July 22, 2010 I have only had two fills due to their schedule not working with my schedule,,,therefore,,, I haven't had a fill since October and I've lost all motivation to get back into the routine again... My diet is wayyy off of what it should be and I've gained about 20lbs back out of the 50lbs that I had lost...any suggestions? I am going to get a fill next Monday and I'm hoping that it will help me get back in the right state of mind....has anyone else gone through this?

I had my lapband July 22,,,What medicines can I take for my allergies? I called my doctor's office and they said "PRETTY MUCH ANY OVER THE COUNTER MEDICINE".....just wanted to see what you all take and what does the best......I would prefer liquid,,,like cough syrup stuff,,,but,,,I don't want anything that will hurt the band or aggravate it....Thanks!

I am having trouble going to the bathroom,,,haven't been in over a week....do you recommend Stool Softeners or M OF Mag? -
I am on my stage that the foods need to be pureed/soft....do I have to puree scrambled eggs or are they okay if they are chopped up very little....also...can I eat mashed potatoes during this stage? Any ideas to get a pasta type meal....meat, cheese, pizza sauce? Would those work in the blender?

Does anybody do the protein shooters that come in the test tubes? I've noticed that just one test tube has 25 g protein and little to no carbs....they also make slightly bigger ones that have 50 g protein again with little to no carbs....those should be fine during post op...right?

OMG...I got the Unjury Chicken Soup yesterday...and I hate it....I ate it around 4:30pm and the taste from it stayed with me until I drank some hot tea this morning,,,that stuff is nasty...does anybody else hate it...

I had my surgery July 22, 2010
craigmorganfan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi,,,I am 2 days post op,,,surgery went great,,,overall I feel fine,,,just still very sore in my shoulders and back...don't know if that is due to the surgery or my sleeping positions and from me putting so much pressure on them to stand up after I've been sitting....I was wondering if anyone out there had their surgery on or around my same day.....today I'm going to start drinking some PROTEIN SHAKES!! Horrayyyy....something other than chicken broth and jello...LOL....Anyway,,,,I'd love to hear stories from everyone....hope to hear from you all soon! -
anybody else have upper pain near neck
craigmorganfan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the past few days whenever I get up and start walking around I notice that I'm very sore up near my neck and then towards my shoulders...is that common...I just had surgery on Thursday....I think I may have aggravated my upper muscles by showering and maybe sleeping too far back in the recliner and maybe pulled it while pulling myself from the reclining position to a straight position on the chair....also,,,is it difficult after surgery to build energy back up and maybe to get your balance back? -
With just having my surgery on Thursday,,do you all think it'd be okay to try some egg drop soup,,,and just strain it so the egg drops don't get in my bowl? I am tired of chicken broth and beef broth... :bolt:

Sugarless gum and other questions..
craigmorganfan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like I said earlier in another thread,,I just got my surgery on July 22.. (Thursday)...I was wondering can I have things like sugarless gum and tic tacs? Also,,is it normal to have very loose bowel movements following surgery during this liquid diet stage,,,,,and does anyone drink the little fruit punch liquids that come in little tubes? I saw them on WALMART's page,,,it says they have 25g protein for one serving....and 1 carb.....didn't know if anyone has done those or is presently drinking them... :smile2: -

Thank you all for the replies...today I am starting to get my protein in again by drinking an orange/protein drink that they sold in the office of the weight loss center....my question is,,is it too early to start eating yogurt? Some of my information out of the tons of information that I received kind of goes back and forth....some say that i can have yogurt now,,and some says to wait a while....since I just had surgery on Thursday,,my main focus is my 64oz of water and getting my protein in,,starting today....
