I was always told the ammonia is from the exces ketones and it only happens with work outs the rest of the time I smell normal LOL. I know they are always taking about how seniors needs for protein but I think that is mostly because because they tend to eat less. I do exercise more then the norm I power walk 2 1/2 hours with hills a day 5 days a week and a thrity minute walk every night but I was doing the same regeimn for years prior to surgery.

So I am almost seven weeks out, wow that seems so unreal to me it has gone by so fast. I think I may have hit my first stall but really I can not complain 25lbs in six weeks is just crazy! And yet I still struggle with myself. A part of me refuses to believe that this will work. I keep waiting for the disappointment shoe to drop, again. I know I am probably getting in 1/4 of the calories then I was before surgery by the numbers alone my body can not do anything but lose and still I doubt. I won't even allow myself to go clothes shopping because I haven't lost enough. I do love my sleeve so far it has exceeded my expectations. I can pretty much eat what I want but my wants have changed. Sweets don't seem to taste as good as they did. Before surgery I had minor issues with greasy fried foods but would eat them anyway but now it just doesn't even sound or look good to me. I still have issues with fighting the urge to clean my plate. And lef-overs! If I had left overs more then a half dozen times in a year pre-op I'd be surprised, now I have leftovers with every meal. Needless to say I end up throwing away a lot of food. So this is where I am at.

I have a little diet soda now and then I can not drink more then a couple of swallows and I really don't sem to care for it like I did pre op.

You look great! I love your top. -
Can you believe it two years! As hot as it has been it feels nothing like it did pre sleeve.
-
Thanks. Who would have thought I'd actually need carbs LOL! We've had it super hot with high humidity here and the smell one day actually stung my eyes.

Hi, Laley when I work out espceially in the heat I notice my sweat smells like amonnia. What am I lacking in my diet?
-
Thanks. The returns from the sleeve keep coming. No more blopp pressure issues, no elevated cholesteral and no pounding irratic heart beats whenever I exercise. Another unexpected perk is that on special occaisions the hubby and I can go out to an expensive restaurant and share a dinner and leave satisfied! I can shop online and the clothing fits well except for one top that was way too big. I wear size 4-6 pants tops M-L. I am over the moon with the sleeve sure I have to be careful take my vitamins and supplements and make sure to eat my protein frist at meals but all that is nothing to what the weight cost me.
-
Hi All, Today is the second anniversary of the day my life was change by Mister Sleevie! It has been a wonderful adventure so far! Maintaining after the sleeve is so much easier I bounce up and down 5 pounds still drink a protein shake every morning and walk daily.

Was Feeling Down About Stall But...
lunarose replied to traceyc's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is pretty common for the weight loss to slow down after 6-7 months because that is when everything has healed but it does still come off. You have averaged over 10lbs a month that is marvelous! -
Building muscle will help fill out the extra skin but really genetics, amount oif weight lost and age play major roles in hoiw much you end up with. It takes about a year after you have lost all the weight for what will tighten to tighten.
-
I went from a small D to a large B after my surgery but while they got smaller the skin is still D size so they have fallen and won't get back up unless I have surgery
-
I am two years out and drink from a straw occaisionally, I get burpy if I drink too much with a straw or drink carbonated drinks. I still avod drinking anything during my meals or right after.

Am I Taking Too Much B12?
lunarose replied to CraftyV's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can not take too much. You absorb better with the shots you only absorb about half the b12 orally. My surgeon said to take it 2-3 times a week, -
I would throw up if I ate too much ot too fast for the first 4-5 months. I still get nauseated from time to time if I eat too much or too fast.

Is There Anything That You Wish You Knew Pre-Op?
lunarose replied to Mews's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did a lot of research before my surgery it was my surgeon who suggested I read up on forms like this one. So no there really isn't anything I wish I had known. As far as your gastric issues it takes 6-7 months before everything is healed and running normally. It also should help now that you have know about the acid reflux. As far as complications go can anyone really know how bad something is going to feel before actually experiencing it? My surgeon warned me that "...the first two weeks are hell..." and I was still surprised by how crappy I felt the first week. -
I averaged 10 lbs a month for the first 7 months then it slowed down to where if I want to lose more I have to work at it. Mind working at it now is nothing like working at it before the sleeve. I am 5'2" and it is weird when I was younger early 20s 130 was *fat* to me and yet today I fell skinny at 140!

Hi Again, I had my surgery in S.Ca and was private pay. I went home with a drain which is unusual and it really wasn't a big deal. I would suggest you two have someone home with you for a day or two. Be sure to have plenty of jello, popsicles, protein broth on hand when you get home because you really won't feel up to going out the first week.
