Good Luck!! Wishing you a speedy and easy recovery.
  2. I am just stopping by to let you know I love to read your posts. Great advice. But, what I love the most is your pic. LOVE IT!

  3. RK, thanks for the recipes. So much better than the list I have of pre-mixed or powder and milk. Cathy, glad to hear you are doing well. It doesn't even seem you had surgery yesterday. thanks for posting and keep updating. We are all so close and knowing that you have gone through it and doing so well is very refreshing. I am getting very nervous. Am I doing the right thing? I am starting with a "lower" BMI and most of the opinions I have been getting is that I should do it with diet and exercise--uh, because I hadn't thought of that before. But, those comments seem to be lingering in my mind more and more. I even had a dream/nightmare about it.
  4. Hi Wah.mom. I will be banded on September 2nd. I am doing my pre-op diet and getting a little nervous the closer it gets to becoming a reality. Looking forward to going through this journey together. I have been reading a lot of the post-op boards and they are very encouraging as well. I am hoping to go back to work the following Tuesday. The more I read the more I believe it is very possible I can go back without a problem. September is almost here.
  5. Another September 2nd here. I am starting my pre-op diet tomorrow...not really looking forward to that, but excited that means I am getting closer. Thanks for making the waiting go by a little faster. Knowing I'm not alone in this process really helps.
  6. My insurance has approved my surgery, but I hadn't heard from the surgeon's office. I called them on Friday and they told me that I will be called with a date once I complete all the tests required. When I went for my first consultation I was told I only needed the nutrition class, psych eval, and sleep study. I have only done the psych eval. If I already have the other two scheduled, why wouldn't they give me a date? Would there be any chance that once approved by the insurance the surgeon wouldn't go through with it? Has this happened to anyone?
  7. Thank you all for replying. I have been waiting patiently-as best as I could have, but I just figured I passed the hardest hurdle. I guess I got excited that this is more of a reality for me now. I actually have my sleep study tonight. I am heading off. I just wanted to check the forums before I left. Thank you all again.
  8. Thank you for posting this. I was with my parents tonight and I wanted to tell them so badly, but I couldn't. I know their reactions will be something similar to your dad's. The closer I am to having this become a reality and the more convinced I am that this is the best decision I have made, I realized anyone who matters will support ME. It might not be their first reaction, but they will come around and agree that this will improve our quality of life. I will tell them soon.
  9. Hi everyone. My insurance has approved me and now I am waiting for the surgeon's office to call me with a date. I am hoping to be banded in September. I hope I can join the group. I love the support everyone gives each other. I am not a very patient person and this process sure does test it, buy reading everyone's posts lets us know we are not alone.

    August 20 :):)

I'm so glad this board has picked up. My BMI is 36. I don't have a date yet. My paperwork is getting submitted to the insurance tomorrow. I really want to get approved, and at the same time so nervous. I've heard that with my insurance once approved I could get the surgery in a few weeks. They do not have many requirements. Good luck to all who will be banded soon and keep us posted. Thanks to all who have been banded and letting us know what to expect.
  11. Hi Everyone! I am a September Sweetie hopeful. I just had my psych eval today. He gave me the clearance to take to surgeon's office. I didn't have time because I needed to rush back to work, but I called them and they told me to fax it in and that she would send paperwork to insurance tomorrow. My insurance does not require a six month diet. I don't know how long the approval will take, but I am thinking it should be before the end of September. I haven't gone to my nutritional class. Do you know if that is done after the insurance approves? I have been reading everyone's posts, comments, questions, and answers and I am addicted! Thanks for reading.

Wow! It sounds like everything has been going so smooth for you and that is great. You are th first I hear to go back to work on Monday. My doctor says he would do the surgery on Thursday, and I could go back to work on Monday, but after reading most post/blogs that didn't seem reasonable. You have given me hope! Glad to hear you are doing so well. Keep us posted.
  13. Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I hope you don't mind me following your updates since we are very close in stats.

  14. I just wanted to say good luck on your upcoming surgery.
