    Not loosing

I wish I was losing to tell you, but dont give up, I am sure there is something to help us lose the weight. I started yesterday counting my calories better, I believe carbs is the secret to better weight loss. Also, I feel better since I started walking, mind you I only walk a total of 15 mins a day thus far, but you have to start somewhere, plus after this weekend I bought a tiny bike thingy that I am going to start using for my legs and I can use it for my arms, I would of already started but I never could figure out how to put those darn pedals on. I am cutting my calories and trying to burn more. And it might be the combination of food we eat. I am going to work on that also. I will let you know. Sandy

I would of thought the same thing but I use to walk 3 miles a day, I fell and hurt my leg and had to give it up for a bit, then I got sleep apnea and gained a tremendous amount of weight then surgery for a obstructed hernia and on top of that my mom passed away and my sister passed away with cancer, in the same year, well, enough said, I went through a depression (natural grief depression) and when by the time I started on treatment for sleep apnea and everything my weight was up and I was holding about 40 to 50 lbs of Fluid. I lost 35 lbs fast, then I got the lapband surgery, in all this time around 3 yrs I did not exercise. I believe its muscle building in my legs, unfortunately I might be losing in inches, but muscle weighs more than fat. I believe that is what is happening. I might go over a few times but most the time I try to stay around 1100 to 1200 calories. I do not eat potatoes or rice or bread. mostly meat baked or grilled, salads, and veggies and fruit. I do eat twice a week eggs and bacon, but that is counted in the calories, and I love my select Soup at night or a bowl of Special K Protein Cereal with a banana. snacking is Pistachios and chewing chewing gum. sugar free. Sandy
  3. Thats why I have been hooked on Pistachios. They seem to satisfy that snacking mode plus, I chew each one till it is fine, so I end up not eating too many. Sandy
  4. I would have to put some chocolate in that. *smile*
  5. I love Peanut Butter also, I still eat peanut butter but only a little bit at a time. I am a diabetic, and it will bring your sugar up fast plus give you the Protein to make the long haul when your sugar drops in the middle of the night. I think my weakness overall is chocolate. I do snitch but try to be strong against it. Sandy

Thank you, I needed that. It is so easy to get discouraged But I wont get discouraged I just have to keep my chin up and work toward my goal no matter how long it takes me to get there. I have always been big, so any weight loss is good.
  7. I will have to try some popcorn, but unfortunately I started eating a handful of Pistachios everyday. They are good in fiber and I can chew it till it is real fine. mmm they are so good.

    Not loosing

I was losing weight till I started walking, now I have even gained a few pounds back, I am not eating any more, but I am walking about 15 minutes a day 7 in the morning and 7 in the afternoon. I had lost 38 lbs. now nothing. I had my surgery in Sept 29, 2010, but just recently in the last month started walking. I am gradually building up my walks. I have had 4.5 cc fill in my realize band. Sandy ;/
  9. After reading your love for reese pieces, I got to thinking, can we eat popcorn? I love to smell popcorn, but when the husk gets between my teeth, I can't stand it. Although, to hear people at work talk about the low calories, I just wonder if it would give me problems eating it, considering bread does.
  10. I had my surgery Sept 29 and have lost 31 lbs, the dr. put 2.5 cc my first fill in Nov. 16. I am eating a little more than before, but not sure how much weight I am losing after the fill. I have been slowly walking and trying to take the steps at least once a day. But I lost the 31 before the fill. I do feel full, and I can tell when I have had enough. Although I have never got sick but once. That was at the beginning, and then I just coughed.
  11. That's the one I take and it is better than some but still awful, my B-12 and calcuim taste ok tho.

    Sandy 2010

I had mine on Sept 29, 2010, I am 56 and my start weight was 260 and I have lost 11 lbs thus far.
  16. It is hard for me to lose weight, that is why I was surprised when I lost the 11 lbs, of course that was right after surgery and I did not eat much and was on broth. Now that I am upgraded to cream Soups and puree, we will see what happens. Actually the instructor is very good, it probably had to do that I am not as mobile as I would like to be. I was asking ElfiePoo on how long did it take you to lose 102 lbs. I can not imagine myself alot smaller than I am due to I have always been big except in High School. Then I weighed around 150 lbs. Sandy :cursing:
  17. How long did it take you to lose 102 lbs? I weigh in just a tad more than you did to start off. I was on the sugar buster diet 2 weeks before I had surgery and I gained 2 1/2 lbs the first week. I could not belief I starved myself without sugar and gained weight. But after surgery I lost 11 lbs in a week and half. Congrats on your loss! I have the Realize band also.:cursing:

    My changes

This is my pic to start my journey of losing my weight.
  19. Thank you, I am a bit bigger than you are, but I do hope I will not have a difficult time. I will be staying with my daughter till we know I am moving ok. Makes my nervousness less, knowing yours went smooth, keep letting me know.
  20. I am probably the oldest on the blog, 56 here, my surgery is Sept 29, a little nervous but glad i am finally doing something about my weight, should of did it years ago. But better late than never, My doctor put me on the sugar buster diet for two weeks before the surgery, not too bad, no sugar, that would be the least of my problem. Good luck to all that has had the surgery and those to have. SandyRS56

    Getting Close!

I have Tri Care and until Oct 1 they are paying 100% of my medical expenses, due to me meeting my cap. Hopefully since I am just starting it will not take me long to be approved. Any chance of that?
