I can eat cake fine (small pieces) but I cannot eat ice cream anymore. It all depends on your body.

Yes. As time passes, you are going to experience more cravings for food and you will be able to eat more. -

To get a boost and break the stall, increase protein, cut carbs completely out and only drink water for a week. -
The goal to getting insurance to pay for anything is for the procedure to be medically necessary. Maybe your doctor could write a letter stating it is necessary to fix or remove. My insurance paid for my band removal but my band was eroded. Did your insurance pay for the band or were you self pay?

I started losing hair around 3-4 months after surgery and continued losing it up until one year out. I finally had to cut my hair short from It being down past my bra strap. Once I cut my hair short and started using good shampoos to make it healthy and only washing it like twice a week, it has gone back to normal. I still have the occasional strand here and there that falls out, but nothing like before. I hated cutting it, but it was so unhealthy, stringy and awful looking. Now its shorter but looks full and healthy.

Every time I have been at a stall, if I increase my protein intake, it breaks the stall. I just lost 3 more pounds. Love my sleeve!

Breaking Stalls!
blondie1007 replied to blondie1007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you Donny. I have found that I lose better when I give my body a certain amount of carbs and protein. However, I always eat protein before carbs. -
I Need A Kick In The A** -- Any Takers?
blondie1007 replied to Ms. Scarlett's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would cut my calories back to 1000 a day and increase your protein and cut carbs completely out for three days while you still exercise at least once a day. Also, only drink water for the three days. This should get you kick started by seeing a few pounds drop off. Also, if you feel like snacking....grab a pickle or if you have to... an apple, but pickles are better. -

Mexico Complications?
blondie1007 replied to coolmamma73's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had a US doctor remove my lapband. And at the time, I asked him about Mexico doctors and how trustworthy they are and reputation status. He said that some doctors in MX are more competent and capable than alot of US doctors and have more experience and are of the top bariatric surgeons world wide. I did research on the surgery and my surgeon (Aceves) for over a year before deciding to make my move. I suggest you do the same. I am a little over one year out and down from a size 24 to a size 10. I couldnt be happier. Good luck to you. -
Drinking Fluids
blondie1007 replied to stokesmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would just stay away from high calorie - high sugar liquids. They are just as bad if not worse as eating alot of food or eating bad food and will make you gain weight. Good luck. -
I havent had this problem, but I waited a year after having my lapband removed before getting the sleeve to avoid problems like this. I hope all goes well for you.

What do you expect GGP? You are negative commenting on a surgeon in which you have no experience. And you are making accusations against other members who are only defending their choice, which by the way nobody should have to do. #getalife -

blondie1007 replied to Roudoudou's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Everybody has a choice. No matter what their reasons are for choosing a surgeon. Nobody on here is dismissing others or looking down on them. Maybe that's your own insecurities about your choice. Again, I believe the original post was about Dr. Aceves. -

blondie1007 replied to Roudoudou's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
To iegal....the original post was about other people's experience with Dr. Aceves. If you didnt have your surgery with Dr. Aceves, you honestly cannot contribute feedback whether it be good or bad. You had your reasons for choosing your surgeon and we had ours. -
I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours... Hair Loss.
blondie1007 replied to kamrie37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just hit my one year anniversary and I am still losing hair. Its not as bad as it was, but its still coming out. I take the Biotin but it hasnt helped, so I had to cut my hair short (which was past my bra) to make it healthier and just continue to treat it to make it stronger. I get most of my protein in too. I guess its just one of the down sides of having surgery. I have found that a product called Aphogee from Sally's Beauty Supply has helped my hair tremendously to look and feel healthier. -
Does This Happen To Anyone Else Or Am I The One Oddball?
blondie1007 replied to Skittle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely get a second opinion. One of the side effects of a leak is constant shoulder pain. -
I have taken it post op before but it doesnt take much. I took the regular dose after having a smaller stomach and the next day I was super duper tired.

Anyone Have Any Complications Going To Mexico For Surgery
blondie1007 replied to mbabercrombie's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Nope. I went to Mexicali and had my done by Dr. Aceves. I would do it all over again tomorrow if I had to. He was absolutely wonderful from pre-op to post op. His driver picked me up from the San Diego airport and took me to the hospital for pre-op work, to my hotel that night, to the hospital the next morning for surgery, and then back to the San Diego airport after a few days post op. I just hit my 1 year anniversay, am 15 pounds away from my goal and I am a size 10 down from a size 24. Good luck to you. Hope you feel better. -
Just Wondering....has Anyone Reached Goal Without Any Exercise?
blondie1007 replied to Sassafras's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I am 15 pounds away from my goal and most of my weight was lost without exercise. I am not proud of it, but with time constraints and responsibilities, I have not been able to exercise like I want to. -
Still Have An Appetite 4 Days Post Op
blondie1007 replied to jlbee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe so. But per my doc, to avoid stretching the pouch and to avoid leaks, as your new tummy is so sensitive, its best to stay on liquids to let your new tummy adjust to the changes. Its worked for me. I have had no complications and am a size 10 down from a size 24.
