  1. OMG, that sounds wonderful! I start mushies on Wednesday. What did you do for mushies?
  2. Good luck, beachbunny!! You'll do great.
  3. my doc said anything sugar free
  4. I am having the same issue post-op. Had to go to the ER today because I got dehydrated. Be careful. If you don't feel right, get checked.
  5. I am also burping a lot when I put anything into my stomach. It is not very ladylike but it sure feels good!! lol! I found that doing the stairs made my gas move and I was able to get rid of it. I am 5 days out and am eating sugar free puddings.
  6. I found them at my local grocery store.
  7. Dee, I did the same exact thing. Made sure I told everyone that I loved them, etc. You will be fine. It's scary but you will be just fine. Please let us know as soon as you can how you made out.
  8. Jen, sorry you are still having pain issues. My pain has subsided. Now I am battling getting in enough protein and fluids. I'm a little light headed and I think that's from not enough fluids. I'm also hungry!!! I feel like I am eating something constantly. Between jello, pudding, broths....it seems to be non stop! My other issue is diaherria. Are you having any of these issues? I don't this the diaherria is helping with the fluid issue. I haven't read of anyone else having this problem. ??
  9. Yeah, that's definitely the tube down your throat that has given you the sore neck and throat. It takes a couple of days to go away.
  10. Yes, I had that problem. You are doing all you can. The Gas-x will help break the gas down so you can get it out. It took 3 days to completely dissapate. It's miserable. I'm sorry you have having a tough time with it. I am day 4 post op and now feeling pretty good. Every day has been a little better. Hang in there.
  11. go to Quick Links above and Edit Signature and then paste in the IMG code from the ticker site.
  12. Hi, Debbie. I had mine done at a local hospital here in Massachusetts. I am doing ok but I think I'm a little dehydrated. I need to get more liquids in. Everytime I put something in my stomach it hurts so I have been very conservative. liquids week one, mushies week 2, soft solids week 3, solids week 4.
  13. I have had 2 days of diaherria. I finally had to take imodium. Any thoughts on this?
  14. Hey, Debbie. I can't believe I did it too. I was banded on the 11th. How are you doing?
  15. Jamie, I felt the same way and in reading these threads it seems a lot of people had the same apprehensions. It's a big deal! I was freaking out myself and questioning my decision. I am 3 days post op and glad to be on the other side of surgery. Now, it's one day at a time. Good luck! Welcome to the group.
  16. Oh, thank goodness it's not permanent!!! lol. I have to go back to work. lol!!!
  17. Yes, I had this problem and it turned out to be gas under my rib cage. It's gone now. thank goodness!
  18. No, I'm not having any issues at all but my doc put it in front by my belly button so not sure if that has made a difference. I am totally with you!!! It can stay there forever as far as I'm concerned!!! I am totally jealous of you guys with your pain killers. I am not able to take any at all and I had a miserable day 2 but it is bearable now and feeling pretty good. I have gotten rid of all the gas but whenever I put anything in my tummy I have a ton of burps. Does anyone else?
  19. I had the same problems. Not wanting to eat or drink. I also gained 5 lbs but it turned out to be gas. The Gas-x helps break it up so you can get it out. I was pretty discouraged too. Today is day 3 and I am finally feeling better and have been able to get more in. I am trying to get the fluids in so I don't get dehydrated. That would not be good. Good luck. Pump the fluids.
  20. I was having the same trouble and I called my docs office and they said that 4-8 oz every couple of hours is good for the protein shakes as long as I get 70 grams of protein per day.
  21. Jen thanks for the update on your surgery. Mine was similar but I didn't wake up in pain. I woke up wanting to puke!! They gave me something and it settled down. Today is day 2 and I have been having gas under my rib cage. It comes and goes. The incisions are ok. Not really painful at all. All I am taking is liquid tylenol every 4 hours and it seems to be enough. I have to admit that I was freaking out prior to going to the OR. I was really questioning what I was doing and why. Even today when I was having some bad gas pain I was saying why did I do this?! I'm sure I will happy in a day or two. Overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am having trouble figuring out what to eat. My doc wants just liquid for a week and then add soft foods. I also can't figure out if I'm hungry or not. Is it pain from the surgery or is it rumbling because I'm hungry. I'm sure that will sort itself out too. I have been sleeping a lot as I am more comfortable lying down. That's about it. Doing ok.
  22. I made it through. I'm banded!! Had a really long day. Had some bad gas pains around my rib cage but walking has helped. I still have a foggy brain from the drugs. Otherwise, I'm doing well. No pain other than gas. I'll write more later. Jen how are you doing?

  24. I don't want to sound stupid and I don't want to get anyone upset but I have no idea what PBing and slimming is. Sounds like something I need to know?
