I have been on solids for about a week and a half and I thought that would solve the poop issue but I find that I am still adding benefiber every other day to stay regular. It's definitely the lack of fiber - at least for me. Wow! Is that a normal response to an over-fill?

Yukon golds are better for you than white....just a tip.

I was banded 8/11 and I also can eat anything....just less of it. So I am trying to be good. Yes, I can feel my port too. I'm sure the band is in there. lol.

wow, that's the smallest band I've heard of. That's cool. I have the Realize band which is fully adjustable so there are no band sizes so I can't compare with any of you.

What foods can't you eat?

You just had a fill 2 years from banding? I thought you get to a spot that you stay at forever? -
You are getting stuck already? Do you have Fluid in your band? I start on solid foods today. So far so good. I am terrified of getting stuck. :blushing:

Thank you! :blushing:

Does anyone here have the Realize band?

Congratulations on your parenting skills. You must be very proud and with reason!

This is probably a stupid question but does any digestion happen in this new pouch or is it just however well you chew that gets it into the stomach? or stuck?

I have a lot of the same feelings but you have to keep thinking that this is temporary. I have only lost 1 lbs in two weeks BUT it's only temporary. Once we get our first fill we will be on our way. I also gained when I added mushies and I am adding solids starting tomorrow so I expect I will gain again. I can eat a lot too. I am trying not too over eat but it's hard right now. So, I just keep thinking this is only for a few weeks and then I'll be on my way to losing weight and feeling better. Keep the long term goal in mind and take these few weeks one day at a time. You can do it.

It's awful, but I'm doing the same thing!

Hey, Jen. Glad to hear from you. I was wondering how you were doing. I don't get a fill until the 20th. Let us know how you are doing. I'm a little nervous now about my fill! lol.

I have a question, being a new bandster. When you all talk about being stuck am I to assume that the area the food is stuck is the opening from the pouch to the stomach where the band is placed?

Hello, everyone. I haven't been on in awhile. Just moving along. I have not lost any weight since my initial loss during the liquid weeks. I am finishing up my last mushy week and will add solids soon. I am discouraged because I'm not losing but also I feel like I can eat and eat and eat without restraint. And I know there have been times that I have over eaten. I don't get my first fill until the 20th. Otherwise I feel great. doc told me to take it slow on the exercise so I have only resumed dancing. I am going to start back at the gym this week and at least walk. But I do feel good enough to do weights too. We'll see. I'm glad everyone is hanging in. Can't wait to hear how the first fills go!!
-
I also had the same problem but mine was from the antibiotic in the IV. I ended up getting dehydrated and ended up in the ER so be careful.

It better than liquid! lol!

No Protein?????

Yeah, I feel it too. I am only eating 4-5 oz of food at each meal and I'm full so it is working. I'm just wanting it to go faster. I guess, better safe than sorry.

Had my post-op today and everything is healed. He said my first fill is 4 weeks off!! 6 weeks from surgery!! He wants to make sure everything is settled and the band can't slip before he puts constriction on it. He also said I can finally do some light exercise. I guess he is more conservative than most of you on here. It feels like a slow start. However he said even though there is no restriction on the band it is still more restrictive than if I didn't have it and to practice chewing and chewing and chewing. lol.

Mine lasted 3 days and Gas-x helped to break it up so I could burp it out. I also had the growling sensation and I wasn't sure if it was hunger or not too. It will get better...... BUT I just read another post that the doc said she did indeed have heartburn so I could be wrong.
-
I don't think you are having heartburn but rather gas pain from the surgery. it will dissapate eventually. Movement helps.

Hey, Jen! Good to see you. I was stuck at 18 lb loss and finally after a week of mushies I have moved! I went up a couple the beginning of the week and now I am back down. A total of 19 lbs. I have my post-op tomorrow. I was also getting discouraged and I do believe the first month is going to be up and down. Glad to see you are doing well. I am taking the Bx Essentials by Metagenics. They are orange flavored. My doc also said flintstone chewables are good too and they are only once a day.

Yes, I felt that way for this surgery. I almost didn't go through with it. But I was fine. I talked to the anesthesiologist and I felt better. Everything was fine. I understand your fear. You will be very happy when you wake up. -
Too funny. I thought I was in the Post-Op thread! I am in too many! lol. thanks for sharing though!
