  1. 35 pounds in 5 weeks!!! HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!

  2. Hello friends...I'm 15 days post op and have lost 23 pounds. My first question is....is 23 pounds normal or should it be more? Second of all...I don't know what the heck all these feelings I'm having are! Am I hungry or is it mental hunger? When I eat, I don't get satisfied, I get pain. I hurt in my chest after about 1/4 cup of any kind of food. Is this normal. I feel like I'm learning to eat all over again. Thanks! Danielle
  3. Hello and good day! Today is day 15 post op. I decided to start this blog for myself and maybe someone reading can get a laugh out of it as well. What better way to track progress...right? Anyway, I live in Davenport, Iowa. I got sleeved in Denton Texas on Nov. 10th 2010 and my surgeon was Dr. Daryl Stewart. I went to Texas because I was a self pay patient and he had awesome prices and he's an outstanding surgeon. All has been well so far, other than the fact that I'm still trying to get used to all of these new feelings. I keep dreaming that I pop my stomach, lol. I named my sleeve Thumbelina. Why? Who knows. I've lost 23 pounds in the past 2 weeks. Strange...it's always taken weeks to lose that much. I don't know if I'm hungry or not. I don't have hunger as pre-surgery but I do get this run down feeling when it's time to eat. Who knows if its mental or true hunger. I can wat about 1/4 a cup of whatever it is I choose to consume. Nothing tastes the same. Nothing is good anymore. I find myself eating to just get rid of that dreaded feeling rather than to be satisfied. I miss soda....that lovely beverage that made me even bigger than I already was. Now, it's Crystal Light and sugar free whatever else. I found the best protein drink is Muscle Milk. It's 280 calories and 22 grams of protein, I drink it for breakfast and it really makes me feel great till around 2pm. Anyway, thats about all I have right now. Good luck to everyone......
  4. Feeling great today!

    January 11th getting sleeved

I was sleeved on Novemver 10th. It hasn't been that bad really. I've lost 23 pounds so far. I'm still getting used to everything, so many new feelings. I would do it all over again though, so good luck! You'll do great! Danielle
  6. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I can't help but be scared though. WHAT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG AND I WAKE UP DEAD?? Ok, I know I can't wake up dead. But, I kind of feel guilty all of the sudden for having this surgery, like, if something goes wrong and I "leave" my children and husband. But, if I don't have this surgery, I'll be dead soon anyway probably. Did anyone else feel like this? My surgery is November 10th and my surgeon will be Dr. Daryl Stewart in Denton Texas, (I live in Iowa). Thanks, Danielle

    Any Novembers yet?

I've already bought my tickets too! I've already paid my deposit too! I'm in the same boat as you, lol. But, I don't have that cool line under my sentences. We'll be fine. You've made a great decision. We can be worried together and relieved together when it's over. Danielle

  10. Hello, Im just beginning the process of hopfully being approved for lapband. I have Tricare prime, north region. I'm 5'7", 255 pounds. I don't have any serious co-morbs, but I have elevated cholesterol and blood sugar. I have a horrible family history of diabetes and I am the only person in my family who isn't taking insulin shots...yet. I was just seen at the chiropractors office who mentioned that he believes I have arthritis in my lumbar spine and causing terrible back and leg pain. My question to you all is this...what are the chances of me being approved based on this history? Also, how in the heck do you figure 200% of your ideal body weight? I'm also taking heartburn medication as well. Thanks friends!
  11. I believe, she should definitely get rid of her dog or at least keep the dog locked in a kennel when you children are over. I'm so sorry this has happen to you. Best of luck. Danielle

Tricare please be nice to me!

Hello friends, I'm new to this site and am just beginning my journey today. I hope I'm not wasting my time trying to get an approval from Tricare. My family doc JUST diagnosed me with high b/p last month, but not on any meds yet AND I'm borderline diabetic, start meds in Aug. if my blood sugar doesn't come down by then. I'm 5'7" and weigh 248. Do I have a snowballs chance of getting approved???
