Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
Lap_dancer replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
Wow. I loved the God Loving Christian party! Great post. Same coin different side is the Bible verse that says for us to seek our "your own salvation with fear and trembling". I think moreso to be seriously intense about the subject. I am also of the understanding from the reading that to base faith on the Bible and then be gay is an oxymoron. Now back on topic. Rants and Raves are just that. I don't think you are confined to a preconceived category to rant or rave. It invites raw emotion, post away. You know what they say? If you don't think you will like what you read, DON'T READ IT. -

Wear the camisole. You look great. Unlike me who has bumpy arms, you are now smooth and trimmed down. Congratulations isn't enough. I wish I could hug you. I am so happy for you. How is your walking? Sleeping? I can't wait to be there. -
How clever! I love doctors like this who love medicine enough to want to help their patients as much as possible.

Opinions: My bi-polar sister wants to have my baby.
Lap_dancer replied to Poodles's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My daughter is bipolar. I know how emotional she becomes. I would not put her in that situation despite the goodness of her heart to want to help you have a child. Remember...what is fine now can be "life or death!!" in an hour.>> If you want to be a parent and have children, there are so many options out there it is head spinning. (went through this with my niece and nephew, she wanted HIS child and she could not carry a child) After her third invetro (that ultimately failed) I simply said...if you want to be a mother, there are babies and children that need mommy's and daddys. They went to Russia and adopted twins. Ask them six months later when they were up at 3 AM feeding, changing and rocking...if they felt like mommys and daddys? (YES) Six years later the children look so much like them like their natural children it still amazes me. -
Dwayne best of health to you now and always. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I liked Ortiz and his reputation. 4000 plus Lap Bands? Awesome. Lori is great too. For me it came down to the fact that for 2K more, I could be in the states with U.S. AMA criteria for the doctors. My husband was worried if anything went wrong there would be no recourse out of country. My mother is a high risk patient and is always concerned about genetics playing a role in what may develop in me down the road. So many people here giving love to Dr. K and his staff, he was the next obvious choice. Sweetie, go with your instincts! Do what you believe is the best choice for you. We are all different but the same in our obesity and the banding. The rest is customized. My best to you.

You are so cute! My niece was adopted from Korea years ago. She is drop dead gorgeous and so smart. She calls herself the hot, Asian chick and also a conglomeration of words that refer to her Korean heritage, her American parents adopting her and raising her and all parts inbetween!

Why can't you pay in increments of $2000? or $1000? Divide it up.

My friend and I went walking yesterday. We walked by an elementary school where some young boys were playing baseball. It looked like a Little League team practice since there were a few parents out also. Well, as we passed the field, the kid on first base yells, "Y'all need to go to Weight Watchers". I know this is common for kids to do especially when they want their peers to think they are "cool". But shame on the parents for not reprimanding him for his actions. No one said a word to him . >> I can't pass up a snappy answer to a stupid remark: "Hey Kid! I might be fat but I can lose weight too bad you're ugly!" ................................................ One of the things I love about my school is it is such a melting pot. Everyone gets along because everyone is from someplace else. You can't be spanish because you might be Puerto Rican or Cuban, or Haitian or Dominican or Guatemalan which BTW, there is no universal spanish so they "correct" eachother's spanish. It's a fun game and fast friends are made that way. I LOVED that comment to the kid Tom. (still laughing)

On the horns of a dilemma - a bit long...sorry!
Lap_dancer replied to emmasmom60's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I really liked everything about Dr. Ortiz. Lori was a sweetheart. I was put at ease and the price was excellent. I'm from Florida so the tropical climate wasn't such an enticement for me. The price was an enticement for me. Ultimately I decided to stay in the states with Dr. K. I always think sleeping on a decision is a good idea. In the end, you are the one who will make the trip, face surgical effects and walk the walk. Whatever your instinct tells you to do is (for me) most likely the course of action I need to follow. Best of luck to you. -
Delta. Seat extensions are free on all airlines. Don't fly Northwest, I've had a couple of negative experiences and their flight attendents are less than cordial to fat people. Delta!

Well since the original post was edited for content, it seems moot for the moderators to let this thread continue running. What to respond to????

Here it is! After dealing with my company insurance for five months now, open enrollment starts in August for us. Once that door is closed, it's CLOSED. He can't do anything until the next open enrollment period. Regardless of the "other side to the story". Anyone who would threaten you with a means to removing the source for paying for your dream is a bully and control freak. He's manipulating you and yes I will go so far as to say being mentally abusive. He may feel threatened by the weight you have lost, by the possibility of what you may lose and then you may not be so dependent on him because you may feel more able to do for yourself. Stay strong, stay committed and take it one day at a time.

I'm not banded yet but I've heard folks say the gas can be a concern and they recommend the GasX strips that melt in your mouth. I've read you can take up to 4. Glad you are going to the doctor. Best of luck to you.
