  1. Doctor came to see me post op. Nurses were checking my vitals. I stayed in the hospital recovery about 8 hours until I could breath strongly. Doc was in touch with my husband the whole time.

    APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!

We've had open and frank discussions about being obese. Sex and the difficulties for the obese individual has been one of them. He lost over 100 lbs. with a bypass. His comment was made between the two of us, in jest, without any seriousness behind.
  3. YES, that would be me. My liver shrunk during detoxing but it was also FLOPPY. Sooooo it took him twice as long. But there is no pain on this end. I have a great memory from my surgery. :clap2:
  4. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That was you! Sunny it was awesome to meet you. I'm doing just fine. Trip home was a bit long but other than that, I'm doing just fine. Hope your trip home was equally as exciting. It was great to get a hug from you~! Sipping all flavors of broths and Propel power water with vitamins.
  5. The surgery center is housed at this hospital. A group of sculptures just outside the front door.
  6. Me right before going in for the Band.
  7. Hello folks! Sunnysea, here is our photo, me on left, you on the right, at Dr. K's office the day before my surgery.
  8. Hey everyone! I'm done! I'm now WITH THE BAND! Surgery went very smoothly but took a bit longer than anticipated. I'm still having a tad bit difficulty breating but that is a combination of being at a high altitude when I live right on the Gulf of Mexico as well as a bit of an allergy issue. The facilities at Parker are divine! Stellar amenities with a lovely floor to ceiling cut stone fireplace and marble floors. Dr. Kirshenbaum is more than I expected and then some. What a superb doctor. Put's you at ease and is superb with communication. I recommend the Holiday Inn Select across from the surgery center. So close and my last meal was not in the hotel (steep prices) but two restaurants over at a Texas steak house. The vegetable beef Soup gets 5 stars. My stomach feels fine. I have five incisions but they feel so minor, like the dogs jumped on me when I get home from work and leave a mark. Right now I'm on Clear liquids, sipping green tea, Propel, and Soups...brothy ones. I FEEL FULL! amazing. I'll write back when I get home. I have pictures and I met Sunny in the lobby of Dr. K's office. I got photos of this divine sweet woman as well as Marilyn, Dr. K and the PA. Everyone take care and talk soon. Lap Dancer...still in Parker. Co
  9. Can I recommend Propel fitness water by Gatorade. Kiwi-strawberry flavor. It helps.
  10. I've been fasting since yesterday afternoon. But that's just me. I've had four abdominal surgeries/procedures and the easiest one I came through was when I had fasted for two days. Clean pipes.
  11. Oh man. I'm sweating driplets, not bullets. I'm hanging on to every word I read. Crazy. My suitcase is packed. My favorite toiletries. Just going through my checklist now. Leaving for the airport at 3 AM. Tingles.
  12. To all who are banded. Can I expect to ride the TOOT TOOT express after having all that air blow into my stomach? Is it similar to a colonoscopy? .................................................................................. Flying out tomorrow!

Post a picture when it's done and healed. I don't have one but I will after this journey.

    Help after operation?

Oh my kinda girl. I told hubby to go skiing while I recovered in the hotel room. I could watch movies all day (and have).

    APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!

I'm not banded yet but lost 10 pounds preop. The guy in the office next to mine gave me an extended hug, squeeze and told me I could expect sexual harrassment from him (he laughed) and added he had a vasectomy (with a wink). I'm thinking if I'm getting THIS and I still have 200 pounds to lose wha?wha? wha? will life be like? Boo, I love your post recounting everyone else's comments.
  16. We should talk like Yoda. Ice cream to eat..wise is not.

    Help after operation?

Hi Capt. I think it depends on each person. I can tell you from what I read that most folks are reporting they come home from the operation but are okay for the most part. Do you have a friend who can drive you to the hospital or pick you up? You can see by my weight ticker I am heavier than you. Everyone on here has really been honest. Just start reading and you'll get a feel for things as they are.
  18. My main point is this: I would encourage everyone out there to stay vigilant through the years. Even if you're not having pain, and even if you lose all the weight you want to lose, pay attention to any little signs that something weird might be going on! Understood. Thanks for the advice and the story. I will sincerely take it to heart. LD
  19. Just saw this! Glad a day made a big difference and you are feeling better. You'll get there, I've no doubt. And you'll see that success. Big HUG.
  20. Misty sending love your way. They now know how you are made. They understand the complications that happened the first time and now know what to do going in the second time. Rest easy. Don't be hard on yourself. You love yourself enough to want to do this so you can be healthy. Peace and light. LD
  21. ANITA WOO HOO! You're on your way now! Congratulations.
  22. FYI I got a medi-alert bracelet with Gastric Lap Band on the back. It is not at all practical but so very beautiful and made of Lamp Work beads. GORGEOUS.
