Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
Lap_dancer replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Julie I love your avatar photo. You look great and always wear complementing colors for your red hot diva hair. Great friends, I purchased a new living room set. It's a pitgroup in mushroom color made from microsuede if not finer than microsuede. It's a new fabric from LazyBoy. It has two recliners in the pitgroup and then two seperate recliners. My gift to myself and family and all who come to visit my home. An awesome place to sit down, relax and kick back. Weight loss. I am diving into this next challenge shooting for 25 lbs. How about " Labor and Delivery from Obesity Challenge" For my fill. I did not eat anything the day of my fill. I ate lean the night before and only had liquids after 8 PM. Again, the day of, ate nothing. I just wanted a good honest gage of where my band was at Constipation: Anyone have a good recipe for a BOOM BOOM? I have not had a BOOM BOOM in five days. I'm sure it is a cross between the pain meds, my reduction in solid food/change of menu. I feel bloated. Help. ANYONE. -

Dee what is the name of the plastic surgeon? Curious. I think Deb would be an amazing help and source of support for you. My sister works for Southwest and I know she has told stories. But she illustrates examples of people who hang over the arm rests!! Not you. I think the agent was being a dick and love, love, loves to spin his little kingdom of power when he wants to. Should that happened again, ever, without blinking, without arguing immediately ask for a supervisor. Because there are Napoleans who have small man syndrome, arguing with these people is pointless. There is no consistancy when one tells you NO and another tells you YES than NO. Emotionally that is torture. Now why, with rashes, will insurance not pay??? That's one of the critereia. And again, what is the name of the surgeon in Mexico? -

Oh sweety I'm sorry you feel that way. I know we are all individuals and come from different perspectives, to say "I know how you feel" seems to lessen the value of your emotions but I will say that having another 125 to go, I do understand being hit with that knowledge when it comes down to it. It's a looooong trip. -

Theresa that is fantastic. Applause on the achievement. I think your hair is thick and beautiful. I love long hair..duh..and I think with your naturally thick locks and beautiful eyes you should grow it out more. Your eyes are so expressive. Dee my last scale read on the fourth was down exactly two lbs. Did you find the weight issue not so much a big deal anymore? My point is I know where I came from and I know where I am. You are ahead of me in the run. How do you feel now? UPDATE on my fill...it's rocking and rolling. It's very nice to let the band do it's job. My appetite is so well controlled. ..................... Next challenge? Anyone up to it? I find the challenges keep me excited and focused on short goals. In one month, it is back to school for some of us. How about if we have a RED APPLE CHALLENGE? 4 weeks starting Sunday? -

An update on my recent fill in Colorado. I'm once again on a good grade downward in my weight loss. Most exciting is the span of time between meals. I didn't realize how much I was able to consume and how close together until I got home and into my routine. Charting the times and volume of food I have noticed a big difference. I was writing Mal a note and mentioned to her that this is the first time in my life that I can eat solids for a day ( I typically do protein drinks) and the next morning awake and not feel hungry, in fact, I could easily go without eating. Of course I'm not going to do that but that sensation of fullness and NOT having that nawing sensation from hunger is staying with me. I think this is what normal people feel like. My GUT is telling me that this is the one that's going to take me home or darn close to it. I'll be having that body lift before I hit goal but decided to get down below 200 pounds before I have it done. My personal goal is 175 and then I'll be ready for the operating table to sculpt and remove all the extra flaps and hangin' bacon. I'm excited. So arm in arm here we go on these challenges, I'm participating in each one until I hit that 175. I appreciate you all so very much. All of you that I've spoken to and shared my life with are priceless jewels. Patty -

Julie there is NO WAY you look like a grandma ( whatever that look is suppose to be ). Some people are really way off on guessing things like age and weight. The kids at my school blew me away one day when they guessed our principal to be 75. He's around 40. I know it's hard to not let comments hurt and ask me yesterday and I would have cried for you but today is a strong day and I just believe embracing where we are and the journey we are on is a powerful thing. Not many people care enough about themselves to actually undertake a surgical procedure to GET to that healthy size. All of us have done that. Julie I'm stoked that you got out of the house, drove your princess to a special playspace, and even brought the camera to capture the occasion. You could only top that by scrapbooking the event!! I think you are beautiful you red headed sexy mama! All in good time.:tt1: -
Hey Theresa. I had such a great time with you and everyone. So glad we met. I had equipment issues so my project in CO was delayed. It's still happening though. Take care of you and luck in the pool aerobics.

Popping in to say I'm down 2.5 pounds since last week. Loving I am off for the summer. Enjoying the baby. Welcome back Mini. Glad you popped in. Missing you all and Colorado. It was one great trip. -
and you are well on your way to a new self. I'm waiting for the day, actually emailed the insurance company asking them to update their two year old position paper today. I will be happy for the others when it finally happens.

Does lap band help lower back pain
Lap_dancer replied to granny2828's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a sour note story. I had severe pain in my feet, back and hoped the band would diminish the pain. I've lost over 100 lbs. I woke up one morning and out of the blue had worse pain. Bottom line is I had done damage to my body carrying the extra weight. The good news is the pain in my feet disappeared so did the Type II Diabetes. My sleep apnea resolved. With regards to your back, my advice to you is to seek out medical intervention for your back by going to a spine specialist. Weight loss will help you. I can only venture a guess that you would feel better losing the weight but I would try a neurologist or spine specialist to address your issues with your back. My best to you in achieving good health. In the meantime, A "TENS" unit is the one device I use that gives relief. -

Hey everyone. Hope all are doing great and staying cool. It is a hellish 98 degrees with a feels like temp of 110. Thinking of those cool mountains out there. Dee..put me down minus 5 pounds. I've got great restriction. All for now. Patty -
I'm sorry for the trouble you are having with the band. I am spoiled by my doctor. I assume everyone researches their doctors before surgery. Calling the office out of the blue can also be beneficial. I don't think it is a dirty little secret about the band. I do think it is a consequence of inflated malpactrice premiums that prevent doctors from taking on someone else's patient, or having any desire to. I researched my surgeon. I also picked a place I would like to vacation a lot for follow-ups. That took me to Aurora, Colorado. I just came from there for my fill getting home yesterday. My surgeon gave me my life back thanks to the band. For me, it was a gift of life. Best of health to all.

To Deb: Take care of Grace (Gracie) I take care of George. Feel better. Julie: Yes, I have had the same thing and I tracked what I ate in combination and discovered after banding I no longer could tolerate certain foods. Nothing dramatic would happen but I just didn't feel normal and that alone gave me a panic. I cut stuff from my diet. That helped. and Queso blows through me. Try going bland for three days, oatmeal that is cooled down with a little milk so it is more like porage. Bananas. thin sliced turkey, room temp water. See if that helps. My fill went great. It was awesome to see everyone. I had the chance to talk to Dr. K about all the ..and a partridge in a pear tree.. stuff going on with my body. He advised me to CRUSH MY PILLS and didn't we have that talk before. So I have a pill crusher and have been doing so since. I'm not taking in enough protein so I'm switching to Premiere protein drink and DEE WHERE DO I BUY IT? I don't have a Costco. I am unpacking. My family missed me. My cats missed me more. My dog Big Ed was right up against me this morning. Ahhh the bliss of my fur babies. They are my joy. We must do a trip. I am all for going to Black Hawk or wherever. I require a good bed. Other than that..eh. Fun is my main goal. Thanks for a great time. Dee. I'm up 5 lbs. All that french onion soup each night must have kicked my butt. -
