i am staying on plan today because ...

Staying on plan today because I want to see my goal a reality.
  2. J I repped you for that 100. Way to go!!!!!! LOVE IT. You are doing fabulous!!
  3. Michelle: Woofay and Lap - Happy Bandiversary! I had mine on April 16th. It is wonderful that my relationship with food is so changed. The evil binger lurks, but there are many more bingeless days in my life. I feel I am an almost normal eater for the first time in my life. Love is wonderful. Ed is a great guy and we talk and email several times a day and can't wait to get together as often as possible. It sucks that he is 60 miles away, but at the same time, it forces us to continue our commitments to ourselves, gives us time to breath, and time to miss each other terribly - those are a great combo for longlasting love. My eating has been up and down. It is Passover, heavy cooking, baking, and traditional eating patterns. I don't think that matzo tastes half as good as Easter chocolate eggs do, but I plunged into it all the same, coated with butter of course. I think I got my fix and now I don't seem to want any more of it. I am happy to try and attend any RR or where ever event. Hugs and smiles, Michelle>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GREAT to read this Michelle. Yes, everything happens for a purpose and things can be and should be given their due in time. Congrats on finding love again. ONE YEAR friends!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO. I AM a new person. So many habits changed, my thinking has changed. I've met some fabulous people. Life is so much better.
  4. Angie38.......... CONGRATS on hitting goal! Way to go!
  5. Everything will go great! If you don't live out west you can look forward to everything having a western/native flair. You can anticipate seeing snow capped mountains in the west. The sculptures on the outside of Crown Point are beautiful. Bring your camera, try to get a window seat and see the amazing clouds from above. They never cease to amaze me. Parker is a simple town that is neatly on the edge of a mountain range to the west. My husband and I took a day, the one two days after surgery, and just quietly drove the gravel roads above Parker.
  6. Hey everyone... I notice Alex added the Rep feature. It's the scales at the bottom of your avatar block. You click on it and open up to add comments to a person's post, what they do so when you hear "I'm repping you for that one" expect a colored square to show up. ShelbieCallie thanks so much. You all make me feel so encouraged. I have to give credit to goood genes for my skin, the same ones that gave me the fat gene but hey, take the sweet with the salty in life. I also swear by Bare Minerals makeup. My skin responds so well to it so Dee, I highly recommend it. Bad skin? Proactive. I STILL get breakouts and I'm 48 so what kind of crazy is that? Proactive is the bomb!! Their night cream for a breakout is nothing short of magic mojo. Doing superb friends. I changed my diet up big time. I had assumed so much didn't have fat, was good for me when in fact in only slowed me up. Each time I say 'no' I realize what I was still intaking even after the band, kind of a ...whoa! I would have normally eaten that. Reminder to all, it's 60 grams of protein a day. I was even off on that. Seven pounds down since last week.
  7. Mal- So sweet of you to say that. Thanks. Hope all is well with you and yours. Been thinking of you and hoping all is going better. Michelle (Dynamo)- I could have sworn I saw you at the Wal-Mart near Golden off 470 or 70 in a red car. I was walking through the parking lot. *Here's hoping you tell us a little about love and all the beautiful things happening in your life. How inspiring to hear you say you don't believe you would have been ready for Ed or found love had you not been banded. I feel you on that one. Anita- You've been quiet of late. Hope all is well with you and yours. Are you subing a lot? I'm guessing yes. Post back and give an update on you. LA- Hey! You're on my top 10 on Myspace. I hope we can meet some day. Luck on the fills. I went back to Dr. K after trying a fill center. GreenChrys- You go ahead and show mama. Tell her it's no big deal on the fills. It's anyone's guess where people get their information. Rattles me when I hear falsehoods. Dee- Let me know how those Spanx work out. I'm looking to try them and going for Lane Bryant or whoever recommends a brand to me. Brandymom - you are rocking! Ditch the clothes and keep rolling. ******************************************************************************** Glad to be home. Having a wonderful experience and still humming from my time at Aurora. I truly benefitted from my meeting with Paula and learned some areas I need to improve upon. On the upside, since my fill and a few changes I've tweaked with my meals, I can't stay off the potty! Need to get on the scale and see where I am since last week. *and did anyone else hear word on a gathering that is in the works for the patients for late summer/early fall?* Around August. I'd love to have a Red Robin gathering... and I will be happy to lead the charge on plans for that so no ONE person is responsible. I was thinking we could bring two articles of clothing and have a swap, nothing huge just a few favorites to pass along. Something to keep in mind. Until the next one, steady as we go!
  8. HOME! And the skies gave me this sunset waiting in the parking lot for our Chinese take-out order.
  9. HUBBY AND THE HARLEY SCULPTURE I use to have a fear of flying, couldn't look out the window...look at what I was missing! Denver, Kansas, Alabama, Florida
  10. Red Rocks Ampitheatre, Morrison, Colorado
  11. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRR It's COLD OUTSIDE!!!
  12. Glad you all enjoyed my Hokey Pokey shots. I shared them with Alex too and posted them on the LapBandTalk photo section. No worries, right? The fills are nothing to be afraid of. Here are more photos for you from my trip...I took a ton of them. Enjoy!!!

I'm staying on plan today because after a year I haven't lost as much as I know I could have had I reduced my fat intake. Feeling so great but I know I could feel so much better.
  14. This one's for you Next12BeBanded...I took it last week when I was in Colorado. One of the joys of being banded in this beautiful state is the wonderful places to discover.

    First fill,what's normal?

Hi Karen- No such thing as luck that I happened upon your post. Most everyone that I kno that is overweight is an emotional eater. I actually didn't even need an emotion to overeat I just did it. The thing to keep in mind is the band is a tool. One tool. The next one is your diet, the diet is better controled because you aren't able to overeat (well you can but it isn't at all pleasant and you learn to just do something different). 18. Your name says it all. Long2BFree. We all long to be free. You are taking the steps to get there and reaching out to others is a great step. Watch the carbs as in the breading on the sub. Yeah. Carbs rock my socks. I can get a *high* from too many carbs and I suspect by the days after you were getting the hungrys. Carbs do that to me. Power up on Protein. Honestly, you do what it takes and for awhile you have to just make YOU a priority and if that means leaving a restaurant because nothing fits the plan then so be it.

  20. Would be nice to live in the north if for this meet and get. Thanks for your generosity.
  21. Typically they need an authorization NUMBER to proceed with surgery. Sounds like a glitch. After having the plastic you know that you have already gone the great distance of weight loss. Power and strength is on your side. This is but a pebble in the lake.
