  1. Art work from the baby's room as promised. The theme is Under the Sea. I have made mermaid pieces for the room
  2. Sidann I went to a plastic surgeon to talk about a Penni...off. My lower spine is bloody killing me at times. You are correct about joint pain decrease though, my feet no longer hurt at all period. My knees do not pop. But my lower back is the end of me sometimes and keep me popping pain killers. The surgeon suggested I see a neurologist. He also inferred "damage" from my weight. Any thoughts on that?
  3. Hey All!Mal: I didn't know that was Boo. Cool!! Love how she has shared her pics with us from start to finish.I can feel the LUV flowing around here. New relationships popping up. It's awesome.Deb I would love to see Kathy Griffin live.I'll post the new artwork later today.
  4. It’s been real interesting; daughter had no cable so no TV is blaring. I rather like it.My son-in-law is awesome. You can only hold up pretenses under the same roof for so long and we have since gotten very comfortable. He is so patient with my daughter. -Even I’m not that patient. The baby is moving like crazy and my daughter is having Braxton Hicks. The funniest has been crawling into their Queen Size bed and rubbing her back middle of the night so her husband can get some sleep. Add to that the two dogs. I love dogs and helped raise one of them from a pup. The other one, Sadie, is a female, about a year and three months old. She’s a beautiful Pointer mix with the disposition of an ADD 7 year old without medication. (I take Ritalin so I have room to talk). She barks at a fly on the wall.I had an interesting experience the third night I was here. Flying is awesome, I love the view from the window seat. But I almost have to go into a meditative state, burn incense, wear Lotus flowers around my neck…you get the idea, because I do get keyed up. So I don’t eat the day before my flight nor the day of. By the day after my arrival I was somewhat hungry, by the second day, pretty much looking for some decent food by the third day I was ready for of all things STEAK. Steak! Not just any steak but Filet Mignon. I mean if you’re going to eat meat right??? We went to a steak house and I got a 5 ounce Filet Mignon and ate the whole thing!!! Can you believe it? Of course our dinner was a few hours long and the last few bites I gave to my son-in-law who has a hollow leg and can eat enough for a small country…but still. Wow, the next day I was hungry again. Today my appetite was gone. I had vegetables for dinner and liquid protein whey at breakfast. BTW: The steak was killer and I am not a huge steak eater.I did some art yesterday for the baby’s room. I will take photos and post it.Hope everyone else is doing awesome. I’ll jump back on here when I can.Hugs to all. Have fun at RR Wednesday night.Patty in TEXAS…YEEEE HAW!!!
  5. I have so many photos. Keeping my shutter busy.Lifesaver, hope the workout took some of that angst out of life for you.I hope a good night's rest has helped you realize you cannot possibly imagine the entire company accounts fall in your lap. Time for a meeting with your subordinates for suggestions. Golden orbes can come from meetings like this. I am wondering why you are taking on rekindling witih the ex rather than giving sister stress a break? I'd start looking for roommate but that's me. The past is the past and the future's so bright..gotta wear shades!more pics coming.

  7. Hey Pals!! I feel like it has been forever since I posted. Wow. Only one week out here though.Daughter is big, achy, crabby and crying. Starting off by posting some pictures:Texas landscape:
  8. This was GREAT to read first thing this morning. Thanks Dee. YES YES YES we did start out with higher BMI's which makes this victory even sweeter. There is no question in my mind that within two weeks I will crest that hill and start down the 200's. You are right there with me Dee. I'm looking forward to sliding down that 200 hill and this time next year getting to the 100's. It's all happening!
  9. Hey everone: I have good news...I am nine pounds away from changing from the 300's to the 200's!!! Let me tell you I am NEVER going to see that number again..ever. The plastic surgeon said I should be consuming closer to 150 grams of Protein. I bumped it up, and starting that night have been dancing the CAN-CAN. I will not have access to a scale that weigh's me...I don't think. I'm leaving for Texas in a little over twenty four hours. WOO HOO. I'll post pictures. My daughter is doing great. She said the baby has dropped low and she is getting mini contractions. Due date was the 23rd but I think she will go sooner. PR

    A new feeling

Bunkey get use to the changed friend. ( smiles ) 30 pounds when you are very obese is like a drip in a rain storm. But some people do infomercials over a 30 pound weightloss so it's all in perspective. You do have a view to offer people. Your band and your journey gives you some wisdom that others may not posess when it comes to lifestyle changes and eating habits. Congrats on the 30 pounds!!

    Dr. Kirshenbaum's Happy Bandsters~

Skinnyme52 go for it. That you have family there is all the more reason to go. Dr. Kirsenbaum is worth the travel. He's methodical, and "a right jolly old elf" saying that because it is early in the morning and the words to describe someone who is happy, of good countenance to be around to put you at ease and not make you feel rushed, and leave you feeling HAPPY made me think of Clement Moore's poem and Santa. He's not rotund like Santa but he is such a likeable person all around. I can't speak for the others but going to Aurora now feels like going home. What a great group of people in that office and they have such a wonderful and warm team of support. If you haven't touched base with anyone, call out there and ask for Natalie. She's kind of like the go-to person and she is also banded. Awesome lady. The front desk staff are also warm and wonderful women. Marilyn has worked for Dr. K like 20+ years. (how often does that happen?) so there isn't this rollover in new faces every time you go there. Any questions just email me. Glad to help in any way I can. Patty

    Dr. Kirshenbaum's Happy Bandsters~

Hey. I can tell you straight up that I have heard we have one bay area Dr. who refuses to do follow-up on patients who are not his own. He too is a Lap Band patient. He has a practice in Z-hills and now Brooksville and is with the JourneyLite group. I started my search for a band doctor in 2006 and they were slim to none around here. Town and Country was doing SOME type of bariatrics, I think it was the bypass, but the BAND which is what I was looking for was not popular. I can tell you that Millenium Medical in St. Pete does Fills. It looks not so hot from the outside but once you go inside and go back into their maze of support systems their personnel are nice. My one and only fill was not to the caliber of my own surgeon in Colorado and for that reason I chose to not go back to Millenium and make the investment to the conclusion, to my goal weight, by committing to stick with Dr. Kirshenbaum. I fly to Colorado about every 5 months. I get to see the seasonal changes, snow, mountains and have that trip down to a fine science. I belong to all the flight cheapo clubs and car rental places. I plan on my trip and can usually do the run for $800. Well worth it considering it's my body. So that is how I developed a plan for myself. YOU are worth it. Start thinking that way. Whatever it takes to make it happen, commit to doing this for you. If that means doing a puddle jumper to Miami-Ft. La-Di-Da then do it. Be willing to drive for YOU. Fills only happen about once every four or five months on average, you may find it different. But hey, there are places all over the state. Ocala has a place now, Miami is the hub for bariatrics and bariatric plastic recontouring surgery. These places are so use to folks coming in from out of town they accomidate you especially if you are doing that. Best to you and let me know if you need anything. I'm local. LUCK! Patty
  14. I've seen only minor glitches in loading under topics on here. My friends, one of the problems that happens with a huge thread ( like this one ) is posting to it can drag much in the form of graphics, and alllllll the stuff we have put into it. I think we may need to start moving onto the new thread. So much in these volumes here.

    Dr. Kirshenbaum's Happy Bandsters~

I live in Florida and traveled to Colorado to have Dr. Kirshenbaum perform my banding. I did so because he has done thousands of laprascopic procedures, not just banding, and had a great price. Living in the tropical climate of Florida I also found going to the mountains for followups an appealing idea. Check my progress photos out on my signature line.
  16. I'm dropping in this beautiful siren of the sea to wish you all a tropical 4th of July.
  17. Hey Mal: I did NOT have to give him hell! Can you believe it? Dang, and I was all amped up for it. Sheeez. Will it be that when I finally get thin there will be no more war in my world? I cannot imagine and then I'll end up all mellow. ACK:whatchutalkingabout Whatever will I do???? B-O-R-I-N-G  (grins) and get this...the girls in the office were ready to call for approval!!!! I'm like no-no we're waiting til I lose 50 more.
  18. Hee Hee. A great imagination and some real time memories. (grins)
