I went ahead and started a thread for December so we can get going! I like checking in here, posting and keeping myself accountable, as well as reading how everyone else is doing with their exercise challenge. Good luck everyone! I know it's going to be a real challenge to exercise every day, with so many things to do before Christmas.

Help - Most Fluid Removed From Lap Band
dk4k replied to carymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had 3 cc's of a 4.7 total taken out in the last week. I started having chest discomfort/pain last week after eating or drinking, but the flouroscope shows things are going through the band just as they should. The dr. thinks I'm having acid so he put me on Nexium for a week and then make take a look down my esophagus next week. I'm trying not to be discouraged by this, but it is a definite setback. -
Back On The Band Wagon-lets Go!
dk4k replied to healthy and happy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yogurt and berries for breakfast and onto the treadmill! I'm so behind on my monthly walking goal, but I'll be back to walking almost every day now that the craziness is over. -
200lbs Gone After My Lap Band Surgery !

What you have accomplished is wonderful, Cazzy! I bet you could ride circles around the old you! -
Way to challenge yourself!

Jessica, that's awesome! When is the marathon? I am doing a 50-mile hike with my son over a weekend in March (for Boy Scouts). Starting in January I want to start building up my endurance. I think I will start walking outside, because I could die of boredom if I try to do more than 6 or 7 miles on the treadmill. We have a park track that is about 1 mile long, so going around that 7 times seems way more interesting. Good thing I live in Texas where it doesn't get TOO cold. I just hope I'm still saying that in January! I hadn't walked in a week until I finally did 4 miles today. My knees were starting to hurt from disuse. How's everyone else doing?

Logging my shopping and cleaning steps may be the only way I hit my goal this month! I literally ran out of my slippers twice yesterday, running around the house trying to get things done. I don't log that stuff but I might have to.
-
Amanda, are we doing it again?
-
I didn't get to exercise Thursday, Friday or Saturday! I was back on the treadmill yesterday and will be again today even though I've got a crazy lot of things to do. Where do the hours go? The walking does make me feel better though, I just need to schedule in "my" time.

CONGRATULATIONS, Cindy!!!!!! That is what I strive for, a normal BMI. I'm one year in and can see how slow the journey can be, but I am happy to be so much more active and feel so much better than this time last year. I will get there, just like you did!

Best to you new bandsters! -
Don't give up, k! Congratulations on one year, JaGo! Today is MY one year anniversary!!! It's been slooooooow going for the past 6 months at least, but I feel like a success story. I am so much more active and fit than I was a year ago! The fact that I'm going to walk today shows how far I've come.
-
Humming Bird, I like your little bitty ticker, it's so short and cute! And I like your status of "Normal BMI"! That's a success story if I've heard one!

How much weight did you have to lose before anyone noticed?
dk4k replied to lorena st's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took about 30 before even I could notice a change. But I will say that people look at me now (down almost 70--lots of changes) and don't say anything. I guess they don't want to step in something by saying the wrong thing, so they just say nothing. -

Resisting cravings! Head still hungry!

That is the BEST (and funniest) weight loss comparison I've heard, and it made my day! My goal weight is 108 pounds lost, so I hope to lose Justin Bieber on a light day. Congrats on your success!!!

NSV from my 7 year old!!
dk4k replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, we take what we can get! But that is a compliment if you ask me. My teenage daughter turned to find me in a small crowd recently, and was shocked to see "a skinny lady" standing by her, only to realize it was me! Nice -
HOW FUN AMY!!!!! Totally worth the killer arm workout to say you did that!
-
How did the fun run go, DawnH?
-
Awesome progress, y'all!

It's great to see how well you've done in a year. I hope that eyesight lasts for a long, long time.
-
Many congratulations, Wayne! You have obviously worked hard to get that far. Cheers! Those are protein shakes, not beer...

I have thrown up once in 11 months. Having the band does not have to mean throwing up!
