Discouraging friends anyone?
MRSKOUBiK replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember that each person is different. YOU made this decision, so I'm sure you did some research before having the surgery. My husband said the same things to me when I told him I wanted the surgery. He judged my mom's experiences and forgot that I may have a completely different situation from her. -

Are You Telling People?
MRSKOUBiK replied to danide's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not opening up and telling just EVERYONE. I have pretty much told all the people I want to know. The same people who I will look to for support when I need it. For me, It was necessary to open up and talk about it. I'm not so good at holding my feelings in with important things! -

Charged for 6 Month Med Supervised Diet??
MRSKOUBiK replied to nallygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my seminar yesterday. And, in my packet it said that if I didn't have any documentation of the six months, I would have to pay 300 dollars for the program the hospital offers. It only listed ONE insurance company that would pay for this. All others would have to pay for it out of pocket. -
Hi. My seminar is coming up this Thursday. I have already came up with some questions to ask the doctor. I was just curious to see if anyone else knew of any questions I should ask? What should I expect from this seminar? I am really hoping I like this doctor because he is so close to my house. I would feel more comfortable in case I ever had an issue and needed to be seen right away. I am so excited. Unfortunately my husband wont be able to go with me. But my dad and his long time gf will be coming. So I am thankful for their support.

I have been doing Water aerobics 2-3 times a week. And, I was looking for something to do on the days that I don't go to the gym for that glass. Well, Today I was browsing for something to watch on tv.. and found that there's an EXERCISE channel offered for FREE! I checked a few out, and they look awesome! I'm excited. I'm trying to find as many resources I can now before having the surgery so that I never have an excuse NOT to work out! :rolleyes2:

that is so awesome! congrats

I went to the doctor to have him write me a letter stating the reasons I would be a good candidate for WLS. I thought it would look better if I included this along with the other information I would be faxing over to the insurance company. For the first time my doctor made me feel comfortable. He asked questions to make sure everything I wanted in the letter was placed in it. But, I guess it was more difficult that I imagined. Anyway this is the letter. She is a patient in our office for many years. She has been treated For depression, elevated blood pressure and morbid obesity. Her BMI 52 she tried Different diet for at least 10yrs unsussefully. She has a family history of D.M. and HTN. I believe she is a good candidate for periatric surgery. Any questions pleace Contact my Office. Thank you. This is EXACTLY word from WORD how it was typed. Even down to the placement of capital letters. Not only does this letter make no sense. But, it lists Periatric surgery. Periatric surgery does NOT exist. Did anyone proof read the letter before giving it to me? I don't think so! Now I have to wait until Friday to pick a new letter up.
-
I really wish I could of said that it was MY error. I really do! It's just awful that someone didn't even bother to proof read it. Especially since it's obviously from a doctors office.

While it's sad to hear your relationship isn't surviving, I find it amazing the changes you have noticed in yourself. I hope your new life brings your great joy. And, that you'll start living the life you never thought possible before WLS!

I'm starting the process.... so it's a ways off. But, I've thought of some goals that I can't wait to achieve! 1. Not to shop in the plus size section anymore. 2. Wear a DRESS and feel confident. But, over all the two biggest goals that would mean the world to me if I accomplished would be: One, have a baby :bolt: And, Two. To make it into the healthy level of BMI so that I can become a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell donor so that I could possibly give someone a fresh start at life. ... like an anonymous stranger did for my husband. <3

Congratulations! That's so exciting. That is one of the reasons I really want this surgery. BABIES! HEALTHY babies. and HEALTHY me
