How many of you had plastic surgery covered by insurance?
MRSKOUBiK replied to blackcherry2002's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
After seeing this poll, I figured to give it a looksie, to see if my insurance company will cover it. I learned that for weight loss surgery patients, they will cover surgery to remove the access skin 18 months after surgery, if the person has a stable weight for six months. -

1st appointment tomorrow! What can I expect?
MRSKOUBiK replied to AKessler731's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had mine last week. All we did was go over my health. I answered some questions, and it was determined if I needed to participate in a sleep study or not. As well as what to expect. I also asked some questions. -
I hate regular yogurt. However, I can somewhat deal with greek yogurt in a small amount

Excited for my new life, even though my dad won't support me.
MRSKOUBiK replied to Valerieee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor recommended the six months. He said he noticed a HUGE difference in his patients who completed the six months through another program. I already completed that part elsewhere, so I'm just waiting for the final word to as if it counts. Good luck to you! If you would like a buddy feel free to msg me  I'm new to this process too -
Do I tell or do I keep it a secret???
MRSKOUBiK replied to nancy_marie_00's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I decided to be upfront about my surgery. I figured if I ever had an incident where I needed their help, it would best benefit me if they knew ahead of time. But, at the same time my mom was banded before me, so I already knew how people would respond. -
How did you wean yourself off caffienated drinks?
MRSKOUBiK replied to roxyc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try only to let myself have it when out in public. It's working for the most part. I asked a co worker to STOP me from buying it during our morning trips to the Royal Farms! I have also used Excedrine in the past, when I gave it up. For those super bad head aches due to withdrawal. It helps because it has caffeine. for me, giving it up is still a work in progress. but, i'm not banded yet -
I follow a girl who also posts on here... go to Life After Weight Loss Surgery | The Band In Me she's awesome.

What will you do with you "fat" clothes
MRSKOUBiK replied to wanna.b.healthy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I plan to give all mine away. My mom had Lapband in February has been giving her clothes to me as she's lost the weight. And, I put them in a basket because eventually we're going to have a clothing exchange. -

Why did you choose the band over bypass?
MRSKOUBiK replied to amber2604's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not banded yet. But, the reason I am choosing to go that route is because: 1. I like that you can lose slowly, and have the chance to tone. 2. It's reversible. 3. I feel it's the safer option to have AND be pregnant. One day I want a family. And, the other options worry me. 4. I rather not have my insides all rearranged and edited -
I need some help almost 2 yrs post op.....
MRSKOUBiK replied to Martin2579's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not banded yet so my advice is limited.. Maybe start fresh. go back to where you were when you first got banded. Following the same rules. Maybe a few days of detox to boost you up again! But, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss! -
wow! you go girl! that's awesome! Congratulations
